There are times when you feel like going to a good ol friendly café with good food. This is it. Great, friendly service that never makes you feel forgotten. Large portions of above average café selections. Yummy homemade salsa & homemade mixed berry jam; put it on biscuits n gravy for«4th of July» in your mouth. I will go again without a doubt. Be ready for a small sticker shock. $ 34.48 for my 13 year old & I, & we just ordered normal breakfasts(his was cheapest on menu). Worth the few extra bucks.

I heard so much about this place and finally made it to treat myself to breakfast. Pros: local, small setting, eclectic deco, and homemade salsa is spot on! Ambiance was totally locals-get-it vibe. Cons: cooks were half-hearted at prep work and delivery. The cooks are THE most important part of a good local café. If their heart isn’t in it– you can totally tell :(. The food was good, but not great. But, I’ll be back again for sure, since I’ve only been once and I’m all for local spots and second chances!

I’ll start with the staff amazing! You want a jolt of funny and upbeat personality? lil bits has it. You want got food and large helpings? Lil bits has it! What a breath of fresh air from the artsy fartsy breakfast boutiques along the coast. If only they were Denver Bronco fans. Enjoy and tip well. They deserve it!

Excellent food: pancakes, potatoes, bacon and yummy homemade strawberry jam. A little hard to find; but worth it — even with so-so service.

This place was awesome for breakfast! We stopped here while vacationing in Pismo Beach. The meals cost $ 10 plus but the portions are generous and the food quality was excellent.

My husband I are visiting Oceano and decided to try Lil Bits this morning based on Unilocal reviews. We were NOT disappointed. It is a hole in wall type place. We were seated in the back of the restaurant which was nice because the front was too warm for me. Our waitress was the owner’s daughter and she was extremely pleasant and conversational. We got our coffee right away and then placed our order. Husband ordered the bacon and cheese omelet and a side of pancakes. I ordered the train wreck and a side of biscuits and gravy. The food was absolutely delicious. It looked like it had been made by my mom! The home fries and eggs were cooked perfectly… The homemade biscuits were delicious! I also tried some of their homemade jam on my sourdough toast… Killer!!! Oh my goodness. I had their salsa on my eggs… Ok, it was out of sight! I see a review bashing this restaurant for having a problem with interracial people. My husband is black, I’m white. Service and food were excellent. Where we were sitting, there were people of all«colors» and ethnicities. The waitress was talkative and friendly with everyone. I saw no indication of any racial bias. We will be back tomorrow and once we leave, we will MISS the food!

We went to grover beach to have a relaxing weekend. Stayed in a lovely trailer just off pismo state Beach. Everyone we came across was nice and friendly. Woke up Saturday morning hungry. Drove up grand to find a yummy bite for breakfast. Saw Lil bites. Thought small down home place looks good. I think they were shocked when a multi racial couple entered. Sat us in their back room which was OK. Then 3 groups came in after us and got drinks before us and orders taken. At this point we walked.

So for a Sunday afternoon — I am not going to lie Lil’ Bits was our second choice as the first choice was absolutely packed. I am glad that we ended up here though :) For a holiday weekend brunch time — it was only a 20 minute wait. They have indoor & outdoor seating. We decided to sit outside on their round tables outside — it took a while for them to clean it up while we waited but they seemed busy inside so who am I to judge. We had one waitress for all 11 of us — she was attentive & very friendly for dealing with such a big group. I think that when the kitchen staff starts to get backed up — the owner(I think she was the owner) rings this bell behind the counter — she came out & apologized to us but we didn’t care — if anything — that’s a good system they have. BTW; since we had a large group they automatically tacked on Gratuity on our final tab — on the menu it also states that they charge a dollar for splitting the check. I ordered a black coffee & they have different style mugs that different people bring in — I ABSOLUTELYLOVEIT! I hit the jackpot with ‘Mom’s Mug 1998′ & I was pretty stoked about it, lol. Don’t judge. They have a great selection of breakfast & lunch options — always a plus for my picky self. I ordered the Mom’s Favorite Scramble AKA ‘The Momlet’ which has onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, & avocado. You can choose between bread or biscuits — I TOTALLYRECOMMEND their homemade biscuits — YUMMERS! Along with their homemade strawberry jam — BOMB! If you get nothing but their biscuits & homemade strawberry jam — then you will be good, I promise. Lol. You can substitute home fries for biscuits & gravy for $ 2 — not bad — I wish I ate meat because man it was tempting! It looked so good. All in all — I totally recommend dude! You will not be sorry.

This place was just as good as other reviewers said it was. We had a 25 minute wait but it was well worth it. I had the linguica omelet with biscuits and gravy and hash browns. The biscuits reminded me of my Mom’s homemade biscuits, the gravy was delicious, and the omelette and hash browns were both amazing.

We were helped by what I hope was a new waitress. Not familiar with menu. Pricey for what you get. After asking for our toast and being told the toaster was on the fritz, we NEVER got toast and were not compensated for it either. $ 13.00 for an omelette. $ 2.95 for coffee with no refills is more than Starbucks! Will stick to the franchise breakfast place in town. At least it’s cheaper and you get what you are entitled to. Won’t be back.

Don’t let the appearance fool you out of some good eating. Great service when we walked in the door until we left out of the door. I recommend the homemade biscuits and gravy with the homemade salsa and homemade jam. Sounds weird but the nice lady suggested it to me and my o my what a perfect blend of sweet and savory. I will definitely return here for some great food and service.

Tucked away in a back parking lot you really have to seek this place out but you won’t be disappointed. From the second we walked in the front door the service was excellent. We were greeted by our friendly waitress. The place is warm and inviting. It succeeds in creating a homey atmosphere. The food was just as awesome. Portions were large and prices were reasonable. The whole vibe of the place was great right down to the alternative music that was playing. A definite worthwhile stop.

I’m not sure what it is exactly… But sometimes a certain meal can take you back or put you in a great mood!!! Environment definitely… It was subtle with conversations the clanking of glasses people busy with life enjoying themselves… Not a stuffy elbows in kind of establishment… Have I got to my food yet… Eggs Benedict on a homemade biscuit all I could eat home fries were outstanding… My record is three refills… No hastles. I wish they served it more days of the week than just weekends. my food was in large portion moderate in price and very tasty. I absolutely got what I paid for… Can’t wait to sneak in again. Thanks. ‘Lots’ o Bits

Don’t let the exterior of Lil Bits detract you from making the stop. The strip mall is a bit rundown, but served one of the best breakfast meals that I have ever had. Service is impeccable. Portions are enormous. Food is excellent. Coffee is solid! 5 stars for sure!

I must say this was probably the best breakfast I’ve ever had. The place is tucked away in a dingy little shopping center so first impression was this place looks a little sketchy. But since it was packed and the Unilocal reviews were good we decided to go for it and I’m so glad we did! The service was impeccable, it was like watching synchronized swimming the way everyone worked together. I order the works omelette with country potatoes and a side of biscuits and gravy. Everything is homemade right down to the strawberry jam! The portions are huge so be sure to go when your super hungry.

Carb lovers heaven. Bottomless home fries great biscuits and gravy. Home made salsa is super yummy and the waitresses are so fun and unique. Every time we come in we are greeted with a smile and always see familiar faces. I love the Kira’s Mess which is a half order of biscuits and gravy on hash browns. This place gets super packed so time your visit wisely.

What a wonderful breakfast place! Another one of those: thanks-to-yelp situations! The three of us had two Country Fried Steaks and the Corned Beef Hash. All of the plates were licked clean. (Don’t know if there is another way to give a better recommendation.) Will be back whenever in the area.
