History

Established in 1925.

Anchor Bay Campground was a fishing camp. Still to this day most campers camp for the convenience of fishing, crabbing, abalone diving. The family oriented camp is full of annual campers that have been camping here for many, many years. Every year new campers come to Anchor Bay Campground and discover it’s true ambiance. From camping directly at the sand of the Southern exposure beach, to camping in the sites in our redwoods. Truly a spectacular beach to camp at with clean showers, bathrooms, and a commons area for small gatherings. Fish house to clean the day’s catch.

Historically, ships docked in the bay and several anchors were lost and then found, thus the name ANCHOR BAY, CA.
