As an avid chamber and orchestral musician, Judi offers violin and viola lessons for every level of interest, advancement and age. Judi believes that music education can be an inspiration in every child’s education and has personally experienced the Suzuki philosophy that «Every Child Can!» She mentors all of her students with patience and loving support — from beginners to the most talented high school and college level students. Judi’s students have participated in Connecticut Regionals, Allstate and All-​Eastern Orchestras as well as local select orchestras, solo competitions and summer festivals throughout the country.

History

Established in 1980.

Judi McDermott-Eggert’s Violin and Viola Music Studio in Guilford Connecticut has been a gem of the shoreline community since 1978, producing hundreds of young musicians, professional performers and school music teachers that been instilled with a life long passion for music.

Judi McDermott-​Eggert is a contracted section violin player for the New Haven Symphony Orchestra and one of the primary Teaching Artists for the Education Department of the New Haven Symphony. She is a registered Suzuki Teacher for Suzuki Books 1 — 8, plus Advanced Repertoire and is a certified as a Provisional Educator in Music for Pre-​Kindergarten through 12th grade. Judi is also the violist in the Connecticut Symphoria, offering fine music for special occassions.

Judi is a registered Suzuki Teacher for Suzuki Books 1 — 8, plus Advanced Repertoire. She attended numerous Suzuki institutes around the country and trained under Ronda Cole, Teri Einfeldt, Linda Case, John Kendall and Sanford Reuning.

Judi is certified as a Provisional Educator in Music for Pre-​Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Judi received her undergraduate degree in music from Barnard College at Columbia University and her graduate studies from Brandeis University as well as music education and performance at the Hartt School of Music, Yale University, University of New Haven and Boston University.

Judi has an extensive background in Suzuki education, having studied and registered multiple short term courses for each of the Suzuki violin books and advanced repertoire with many leading Suzuki educators, including Ronda Cole, Teri Einfeldt, Linda Case, John Kendall, Linda Fiore, Alice Joy Lewis, and Brian Lewis.
