This place really blows. The last time I was here I wanted a bookcase. An employee told me to go ahead and finish shopping and I could pay for it at the front. He said he would write sold on it–(he didn’t lol) after about 45 minutes I’m in line and I hand the cashier a piece of paper with the item number on it and I tell her I need help getting it up to the front. As I’m paying I see a woman with my bookcase in her cart getting ready to pay for it(it was the only one) and I was like ‘what’s going on I already bought that’ It turned into a huge deal as the lady had a fit yelling that her husband loaded it and she was buying it. I showed her my receipt and she proceeded to literally throw it out of her cart and yell at me. The store manager had to e called and it was a scene to say the least. Well I got the shelf but it was not cool and I felt like I was left to handle the situation when I was the customer. That situation kept me away for some time. I should have stayed away forever. Ok so today I shopped for about an hour rummaging through all their junk. It was really busy and when I went to pay my debit card was declined. The cashier said I probably put my pin in wrong so we tried again. Still didn’t work. I was so embarrassed and I asked her to hold my order while I called the bank. She looked at me like I was an idiot and there were a lot of people in line waiting. I again asked her what to do for a minute so she could ring someone else up. She got pretty rude and said she would have to cancel the entire order($ 55 lousy dollars) So cancel it I said. It was awful. I couldn’t get my account up on my phone and every number listed on my bank card and online was out of order. I left and drove strait to Keesler Credit Union to find a generic note on the door stating the entire bank was ‘down’. Really??? You have to be kidding. I went in and got cash to pay for my stuff but on the way back I said screw it. I hate this store. I do not like their crappy employees. I make a really good living so why am I trying to forever find a bargain in this poorly ran dump. I went elsewhere and purchased what I needed and will say adiós to Treasure Hunt. Sigh… Live and learn

This place has closeouts and salvaged merchandise. Since it changed ownership a few years ago it has gon downhill. They overpriced merchandise by 100% to 300% and then marking it down 20% to 70%. This leaves the prices above retail on most items. For example, I found a 50 pack od DVD’S for $ 34.00 with a 40% discount. When I looked at a local store they sold for $ 11.00 and we’re on sale for $ 9.00. This place is usually a rip off, so know and check your prices before you buy.

Every time I drive by this place the parking lot is jammed packed with cars so today I decided to see what the fuss was about. I wasn’t impressed from the jump as I drove around the parking lot looking for a place to park. Trash littered the outside of the store which made me wonder even more what was going on in the inside to make all these people show up. When I got inside I started looking around at the items for sale. I immediately noticed that the prices on a lot of the items were marked up but the catch is they are discounted depending on what percentage the store places them as. A $ 79.00 pair of shoes would be for $ 42.00 for example. The thing that got me was the stuff in the store already looked used and second hand, which made me wonder why this crap was so expensive. To say the least I wasn’t at all impressed from what I saw in the store. I can’t get better deals on a lot of the things sold at the Treasure Hunt in Dollar General or Dollar Tree. I will not be back!

This store is open again on Hwy 49 in Gulfport. If you like items from major department and discount stores at 40% to 90% off of the retail value, this is the place for you. You never know what you will find at Hudson’s Treasure Hunt! Now this is not the same as «Dirt Cheap», which is owned by the same company. You can get A-1 items here that for some reason did not sell at the original venue. Could be a small fire, water damage, theft-their problem is your bargain! Could be the store went out of business! Maybe the store moved to a better location. What is left is sold to Hudson’s Treasure Hunt. You never know what you will find… from high end jewelry to dollar store, from Neiman-Marcus to Wal-Mart. Dvd’s, gift stores, gourmet food, pet food, ballet shoes. appliances, high end furniture… they may have it. Check thier web site for updates. I got a great Laz-e-boy recliner for $ 129! A Hammacher-Schlemmer leather jacket for $ 29 bucks. Just be ready to get down, dirty and shop!
