I recently had a very nasty experience with this business. Without giving away too much, I work for a company that provides trade to trade services and this is one of our smallest clients. I could barely bring myself to give this business a star. However, I hope by posting this, that the general public will have a better understanding of who this person is and what he is really about.
Robert Cardenas called the administrative offices demanding to speak to the manager. I could tell he was very upset about something and I asked him what this matter was about. He proceeded to say «Listen sweetheart, just get (manager’s name) on the phone!» I stayed calm and asked him politely, «Sir, could you please not call me that, I find it disrespectful and demeaning.» Upon hearing this, he became enraged and screamed at me to put the manager on the phone. I told him the manager was not in his office. I could hear his breathing change and I could sense his rage bubbling up through the phone line… I continued to talk to him in a calm voice and told him that if he could give me information on what this was about, I could find him a person that could resolve the problem for him. Upon finishing the sentence he yelled «I WILL CALL HIM BACK!» and slammed the phone on me.
I told the manager about what had transpired. I asked if I should report it to corporate. He said that it wasn’t worth escalating and that it was enough that I had told him. Unbeknownst to me at the time, he later told me that he thought his is the same client that threatened to sue him.
I spoke to a few QC managers and they all agreed that his guy was a miserable person who treated each one of them like garbage. None of them could remember when they dealt with him when he wasn’t belligerent. They all said they thought the guy abuses drugs and frequently shows up under the influence to pick up his product at our facility.
A few hours later, this ass-​hat showed up to pick up his product. He told the associate working the pick up desk that he wanted to know «who the F*ck was (insert my name here)?» He said he wanted to meet me in person to tell me what a «F**cking Bitch» I am. He also told the associate that he was «going to file a formal complaint» and have me fired from my job.
The associate reported this exchange to the manager and myself. He added that he thought that the guy was under the influence of some drug because he slurred his words and his eyes were blood shot.
I encourage everyone out there not to do business with the person. It is apparent to me, through my own experience and speaking to others with similar and repeated experiences with Robert, that this is a person who has a couple of screws loose; he has no business acumen and even less graphic arts talent.
One of our drivers, who heard Robert’s rant when he was at the pick area, said he had been to the guy’s hovel (apartment) and it looked like he was barely making ends meet. He placed the boxes inside the doorway and got his head bit off for doing so. That doesn’t surprise me since Robert thinks nothing of treating people like they are worthless (probably to overcompensate for his extreme lack of self esteem).
I would urge you not to do business with the person. No one can be sure what he is capable of. It could cost you business or even your life. Watch out!
