Business Owner

Zahra Hosseini, DMD, is a skilled and experienced dentist who established her practice in December of 2009 after serving three years as a United States Navy dental officer in Camp Lejeune, NC serving thousands of deploying marines with their dental health needs.

Dr. Zahra Hosseini received her undergraduate degrees in Cellular Biology and Molecular Biology from the University of Washington in Seattle. She received the prestigious Health Professional Scholarship from the US Navy, and graduated with her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston.

Dr. Hosseini completed her residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD). She completed active duty in 2008 at which time she moved to Bergen County with her husband and young son. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Bergen County Dental Society.

My fiancé and I have been going to Dr. Hosseini and she is great. She makes you feel very comfortable and is super friendly and nice. She has a great team at her office. The dentist chair has a back massager that gives a great massage which was amazing. There is also a tv across from the dentist chair for entertainment. There is a keurig coffee machine in the waiting area with many varieties of coffee or tea options and also a mini fridge with bottled water for patients and free wifi. I have been nervous to go to dentists however I feel great visiting Dr. Hosseini. I highly recommend her.

She has to be the best dentist ! They make you feel at home, the attention she gives is amazing. Couldn’t ask for a better dentist. And you don’t have to wait long for them to take care of you. Love this place and there birthday cards !!!

Dr. Avedekian was our family’s long time dentist. When he sold the practice, we were concerned. But a few YEARS after our first visit with Dr. Hosseini, we are still going. We have found the staff amazingly concerned, skilled and warm. As for Dr. Hosseini, she handles the various members of our family with kindness and respect. She has the latest equipment, and doesn’t seem the type to stop learning about new procedures. Her staff is on target with insurance and appointments. One day I was there and I found out my father-​In-​law and sister-​in-​law were there the same day. Now my family gets along real well. But for all of us to still be going since Dr. Hosseini took over, that is amazing. Actually, my sister-in-law’s family lives upstate and travels down for their visits. A great dentist and a wonderful staff.

I highly recommend Dr. Zhara Hosseini. I have been super afraid of dentists since I was a child, but I’m not afraid to have my teethes treated by Dr. Hosseini. She is very experienced professional and always so gentle and pleasant. And very importantly I can trust her because she gives me very honest diagnosis. My teethes are very important part of me, so I need to be able to really really trust the dentist who will touch any of them. I am very happy that my sister introduced me to this amazing dentist whom I can really trust!
I also like the vibrating chair and those stress balls so that when Dr. Hosseini gives me the shot I don’t focus on getting the shot. And she gives really good shots. I never once felt any pain. Definitely recommend her to any of my good friends and family members!

Conscientious, thorough, gentle, caring, but most of all, Dr. Hosseini is professional.
The office is antiseptically clean, technically modernized, appropriately efficient, and easily accessible.
Few enjoy going to the dentist (as they say, «Ignore your teeth and they’ll go away.») but Dr. Hosseini makes your visit more than tolerable, and assures you that as you leave you’ll actually feel better than going in. I’ve been to too many dentists where only the opposite was true!
And, even more importantly, NO UPSELLING! That is the prime reason I left my previous dentist’s office. I felt more like a customer than a patient.
(Not quite sure what kind of experiences Amy H. or Barbara V. had, but they should at the very least allow Dr. Hosseini’s office to address their concerns on a return visit. They may be pleasantly surprised that their initial reviews are no longer appropriate.)
And, no, I am not a family member or friend… just a very satisfied patient who will return as necessary.

I had been seeing Dr. Avedikian since my first dental visit as a toddler. Once Dr. Hosseini took over, the practice changed. It went from a very laid back family oriented practice, to an uptight. I always felt like I was being pushed the get procedures I didn’t need, and were not covered by my insurance. Now, I find out that Kate is no longer with the practice. She was the only reason I was still going. With Kate gone, the practice has lost all of it’s draw to not only me, but many other patients. I would not recommend this practice.

Dr. Hosseini is the best. she was extremely professional and caring and ensured I got the best experience ever from a dentist. I had gone there for my tooth cleaning procedure and she ensured it did not hurt a bit. Her staff and assistants are good and caring as well.

Dr. Hosseini is one of the best dentists I’ve had. She treated my emergency with an exceptional caring manner, making sure I understood the procedure every step of the way. She values quality over profit and as proof, I continue to use her even though she’s outside of my network coverage. I believe her exceptional work will pay off for me in the long run.

I brought my 85 yr old Dad here for an emergency and Dr. Hosseini fit us in right away! She has all the modern equipment so was able to identify the problem quickly and starting working on my dad immediately. She was a Navy dentist so is very skilled in this profession. She it thoughtful and thorough. And, the follow up between her and her staff was impressive! She runs a very concerned and caring dentist office. She even met us for one of the follow up visits to adjust his dentures on her day off! (instead of having him wait a few more days!) She went above and beyond! My dad received EXCELLENT Care! From the Dr. and her staff! Lanni, her office manager is on the ball and very knowledgeable.
One more note: She’s very kind and personable and greets all of her patients with «hello… thank you for coming» which I think is a nice business practice! I could tell that all of the patients had their own connection with her, and trusted her. she’s super personable and very interesting to talk to. If you need a family Dentist in Bergen County… I recommend her highly!

I love Dr Hosseini. I had been going to Dr. Avedekian my entire life until she took over his practice. She is so gentle and so passionate about what she does. I tried going to a different dentist as I moved to Hoboken and was not pleased with the service at all so I returned to Hosseini. I will never go to another dentist.

I don’t really review businesses other than restaurants and retail stores unless they are outstanding, and this is one of them. As a sweets addict, having a good dentist is so essential to my Unilocaly well-​being. Dr. Hosseini took over Dr. Avedikian’s clinic in the beginning of this year after his retirement and I’m very impressed with her dental service so far. I heard Dr. Avedikian has painstakingly chosen her from dozens of dentists he had been interviewing to make sure his successor shares the same principles and sincerity, not like those greedy business-​minded dentists who care more about money than patients. I see the same spirit and concern in Dr. Hosseini that Dr. Avedikian had, she’s so professional, gentle, informative, very friendly and approachable. I heard she graduated from Tufts and has worked in the Navy Dental Corps and received a letter from the US President for her dental service in the military. She takes personal interest in each patient and gives patients options and thoroughly explains the procedure and is not pushy at all. She even gave me a permission to call her even in the middle of the night if I experience any discomfort. Great patient care!!! 5-​star!!!
