Preferred Relocation

Can you say scumbags? I used them only because a service team us up.
We were promised we could use our credit card. They wanted cash. We had to call the service to get them to force them to take our credit card. From the estimate to actual move the price has increased over 1100 dollars!
Also note we told them it was a long carrier. We disclosed it up front. So now the driver actually wanted to argue with me. Saying you need to listen. He did this after I called the service. The service feeds them leads.
Next they recharge us again 150 more dollars as it is a long carry. Okay fine charge my card.
They want cash again. I had to get the company who assigned them to These guys are beyond scummy!

This company is awful… one star is more than they deserve. They were 12 hours late the date of pick up. It was 2am by the time they were finished moving items out of our old house and we had to sit and review their contact at that time. They increased the amount due by almost $ 2000 over the original quote. They took a month to deliver the items out of storage once requested. On the date of delivery they stated they would be at our home by 7pm and did not show up until 11pm on a Wednesday evening. There was only one mover to drop off the items and he was not done until 1am. We were missing several items (TV, computer screen, desk, son’s bike, son’s bed frame, side table, boxes of clothing, photo albums, and jewelry). There were also damaged items (two beds, one scratched and the other broken). The company told us the items were in their warehouse and they were looking for them. They never followed-​up with us until we contacted the BBB. It took them a month to admit they lost the items (not at ALL apologetic) and we were given a number to call to file a claim. We were told it would take 70 – 90 days for the claim to be processed. We are an active duty military family and this has been the worst experience we’ve had with a moving company… with any company!

Great experience and would definitely use their services again! The crew was punctual, professional, curteous and did an amazing job. They took the time to carefully explain all of the paperwork and the estimate was dead on. The move did not cost me a penny more than what was quoted over the phone and in my contract. They insured that all of my belongings were packed and padded with utmost care. The delivery was as smooth as the pick up. The crew arrived on time and everything was unpacked without a scratch. I could not be happier with the service that was provided by Preferred Relocation and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to make their move as smooth as possible.

I would not recommend this company. Please take the time to read the unrecommended reviews and the BBB complaint reports. Even though they have a high rating with the BBB, there are still several complaints (including one that we had to file). Also, the company goes by several names, such as Always Affordable Movers and Preferred Movers, so it is hard to find the truth until it is too late!
Despite being promised our stuff would be picked up, they were never able to schedule a truck to pick us up. We ended up having to hire local movers to put our stuff in a storage unit because they didn’t show up the first time. Then again, after being promised our stuff would be picked up from storage, they were unable to get a truck to us. Customer service was also extremely lacking. It became impossible to get in touch with someone on the phone.
Don’t make the same mistake we did even though the price they will give you seems affordable.

As I thought I lost my money on this deal. Even the BBB covered them. Do not use them for anything, not even local

Save yourself a LOT of moving grief and never even consider using Preferred Relocation.
I’m moving about 400 miles, and LONNNGG story short, Preferred (now that’s a stretch) Relocation gave me the best quote, they set a move date and time, and I gave them a $ 100 deposit.
TWO DAYS before my move date I received a call from «Tom» saying «Yeah well I’ve checked with our driver and THAT’S JUST NOT GOING TO HAPPEN». After much «discussion», I asked to speak with John (who actually gave my my quote), and was told «John no longer works for the company.» Eventually, Tom told me «Look, if you just have to be there by that date, maybe you should find another mover.» Which I assured him I would, and I did but for 10 days later. AUGHHHH
This ended up costing me an additional $ 1000 (approx.) due to my additional rent (because I had already given notice), the additional rent on my storage room, and my new movers are considerably more expensive.
I WOULD RECOMMEND that no one, ever even pick up the phone to call this company. If you already have… watch out!
