So surprised to have found this little asian market in the middle of all the other banks, hair salons and Columbian eateries. I actually thought it was out of business. I saw a sign from the parking lot and said eh probably an old store. So I decided to investigate. I walked in and was so happy to see this. Being south east asian it’s hard sometimes to find certain foods in certain areas. I love buying from smaller stores like this. I walked around the entire store and realized ohhhh it’s mainly a Filipino store but has the other great asian essentials… I saw an old freezer w/homemade chicken or pork lumpia. I grabbed a bag and they sell it by the lb about $ 5.69/lb i think. My bag was about $ 9… It was well worth it. My son and hubby killed the 1st batch I fried so I made a 2nd batch… gone too lol I need to go back to get more… They have both types of Balut duck and chicken and at a great price. They have a fridge of fresh asian veggies and other prepackaged foods. It looked kinda sketchy bc I didn’t see a lot of people there but decided to take a chance on the dim sum. Got some shu mai, 1 thing of shrimp balls and 1 thing mushrooms w/shrimp and a large congee w/pork and preserved egg for $ 4.50. It was decently priced and I will definitely come again. :) Yay!

Like the other guy said, this place has been here forever, longer than I’ve been alive. One stop shopping for Filipinos, they’ve got everything you need to make just about any Filipino dish. Haven’t personally used any of the other services. Come often enough and one of the staff members is particularly helpful. Clearly, I don’t come often enough since I bought something this morning my parents were told not to buy(they were there like an hour before i was lol)

I have been going to this establishment ever since moving to New Jersey as a young child. Back then the store was set up a little different, but now they have opened it up making a little more space for customers to move around. The snack/candy aisle at Sunrise Oriental was always my favorite, you can find all the greatest Filipino treats like Hany, polvoron, Torrone, Uraro cookies, as well as other oriental snacks like pocky at this store. There’s a good selection of imported non-alcoholic beverages in the back refrigerated aisle. They also have a house-made Longaniza(sausage) that is really good, as well as tofu. This store also has a nice selection of backed goods to choose from that are fresh and get delivered fresh from local Filipino bakeries, theres pan de sal, ensaymada, pound cake, and pansit palabok. Occasionally they will have some Chinese goodies like Siopao, and the white puto. I like that its a friendly atmostphere, and the owner is a really nice person too. You also have the option to pay by check, which is a good option to have. I know this place will be around for years to come.

Sunrise has been open for at least 25 years. I remember coming here when I was very young, maybe the 1st or 2nd grade. At that time I thought that the store was huge. Visiting here yesterday, after a nearly 8 year hiatus, confirmed that the world looks much larger through the eyes of a child. At Sunrise you’ll find all of the basics; which you would expect at the smaller specialty stores. While the convenience of having a Filipino/Asian market in town is a treat, more selection would be great. Aside from the various food options, you can also ship packages, rent videos, and send money from here. It’s a one-stop shopping experience. Just on a smaller scale…
