I went there for express service I was in and out in no time. What a great dealer ship!

I simply do not understand the negative reviews on this place. My husband and I went there on a Saturday looking to buy a certified pre owned Sienna. Even before going there in person they were super responsive with my emails. They were super helpful once we got there, took us for test drives and then it was time to talk deal. Hubby decided to play hard ball. At that point we decided to look for a better price elsewhere. Well, guess what? We found a better price on a worse condition car and we almost bought it at the other dealer (Hudson Toyota) had it not been for the terrible service, inability to answer questions and pretty much their lack of attention to us. Well, it was so bad there that we ended up telling them to cancel the whole transaction.
I called Ron Belotti from Toyota Hackensack late in the afternoon and he immediately got in touch with Armando Morell. We drove back to them and made the deal. We could not be happier with the service and attention we got at Toyota of Hackensack! These guys are the real deal. Trust us!

I have never gotten good service going to this place its final I am never going back.
I almost met in a car accident while driving to work due to the fact that it was snowing and there were no windshield washer in my car that I could use in aid to help me to see where I was going.
I was feeling so confident that faithful day knowing that I just got my car serviced the day before, which their service report indicated that they change all my car fluid’s.
what make this situation even worst is the fact that this has happened to me twice going to this place, God knows what else they stated they actually did is what was actually done, so I recommend all to check your cars keenly before leaving.
That being said I can confidently say not only their service department is horrible but there sales department is horrifying because I had the worst experience purchasing my 2013 Toyota from these guys, I really didn’t want to use my bad sale experience to judge the overall company but that misjudgment almost coust me dearly.

Watch for bait and switch.
Went there Saturday and the salesman told me that they didn’t have the vehicle in stock and they will need to locate one after a $ 1000 deposit so I said I’ll be back later. 2 days later, I called and I asked for the same vehicle. They said that they had them in stock and even gave me a pretty damn good price. I went in and guess what, no vehicle in stock. LOL.
Went to Toyota Universe and got the car instead.

I been trying to get my dead fathers name and address off mailing list for past 4 months. I original was told on 7÷27÷2015, that no problem, my mom will not receive any more letter from dealership namely Mike Park, Sales Mgr.
Since than I have called both Dealership and Toyota Corp. for America, to know avail.
For the most part this dealership has no respect what so ever, to send letters to buy my dead fathers Four-​runner (which by the way was sold in April 2013). So they don’t even do there home work they just spit out lists and solicit, no matter what.
My mother has become quite upset with the frequency of the letters being sent. She asked me to take a look and contact. I have and been yes’d to death or have to leave voice mail with no return call.
Toyota of America, tried to contact Mike Park, while I was conferenced in and they as per usual got VM. They than registered my formally compliant, and told me that because dealership are privately owned that’s as far as they could go (shame on Toyota of America too). So they told me I would have to get a lawyer to stop them.
I will advise my mother from now on any propaganda sent to her from Toyota of Hackensack, to mark returned to sender deceased.
As they say what comes around goes around,

Pros:
1. Their service department is decent. I only do oil changes & tires here because everything else is way too expensive.
2. While you wait for your car, they provide a coffee machine, bagels, phone charging station, tv and computer station.
3. They now have buzzers to indicate when your vehicle is ready.
4. Open Sundays
Cons:
1. Do not try to buy your Toyota from here… their salesmen are cocky and rude. They didn’t budge on a price while another dealership did. They have a «this is our price or you can go to another dealership» attitude. (which is exactly what I did when they didn’t want to close out on a sale for me). Oh well their loss.

BAD The WORST Customer Service… I just bought a use and the battery was bad I got the car late Friday night. So on Monday anybody know anything about it. Thank god my sell man was a great person and I had his cell phone so he authorize the new battery because the finicial dude turn his head away when I when to talk to him. I own few Lexus before I know is no the same but man this ppl need a lot to learn from Lexus. PS Alex Barbosa is the most honest sell man I had ever deal whit. And I had buy a lot of cars. Antonio Gualpa the finicial dude need to get a job where there’s no one around…

service is painless but does not appear quick

Two star for the sales department. Three stars for the service department. For sales: representative is kind and patient, but unfortunately the sales manager is rude and make you feel that you are taken advantage of. They also sell too many side finance product along their car. Be aware of those, you probably won’t need them. Service department is okay for their price and technicians. Their price is lower compared to nearby dealerships on Rt 17 — East Coast and Prestige. Their waiting area is big and nice — internet, TV, coffee. Technicians are kind and seem to be professional. However, service supervisors are really not good mannered. You would feel have been taken advantage too, at least unsure about whether their service is overpriced. Also they may sell you service you don’t need at the moment. In summary, this is a money oriented dealership. Rudeness might just be their culture. If you are going to this place, do tons of research beforehand, and be aware of additional things they are selling.

Worst dealership ever! don’t buy from it!
The management and supporting staff don’t care about customer service.
I bought a car by the end of June, 2015, and was requested to pay $ 399 for getting license plate from NJ DMV. I was told that I can’t go to DMV to get license plate myself even I paid cash for the vehicle. Later, DMV told me that statement was false.
Anyway, I paid the fee to Toyota of Hackensack, to get registration, license plate for me. It has been almost a month since I paid for the car, but no registration, no license plate.
I called many times to the sales person, Ron B., the department handles license plate and registration. I left a VM to general manager, no response.
I filed a complaint with Toyota, it seems it would a waste as well.
Take my lessons, don’t buy from this dealership!

Had very pleasant experience, attentive and polite personnel, fast service and most important they are not trying to find 10 different problems in your car to hustle you for money like most of dealerships do!

I am a long time customer. The service has decline at this location: 278 River St. Hackensack NJ. Yesterday, went in for an scheduled oil change and less than an hour later my car has a huge dent and hole on the rear bumper. (photo attached) I am certain it occurred before they changed the oil in my car. Mechanic gave me a vague explanation for accident and now I have to drive a rental car around, which I am liable for condition and have to return with full gasoline.
I will never go back to get a simple oil change at this location again. A person’s car is not just box on wheels, it’s a personal car with value to each customer.

Too bad there are not negative stars. Took my truck in to get a couple stuck sensor lights reset, and the told me I needed a new radiator and front axel boots. Estimate was $ 2k! Charged me $ 135 for the diagnostic! Left and went to another nearby dealer who told me radiator had a loose hose clamp, and the axel boot clamps were missing. A simple, inexpensive fix. I will never go to them again for anything, and will be sure to tell all I know about their scam.

At first my experience wasn’t bad but after an awkward encounter with one of the managers I feel too uncomfortable to go. I am opting to go to a diff dealership. Hopefully I can get serviced there instead.

My wife and I bought a used Honda CRV at this place that they took in as a trade in. At first the car was fine and then within 2 months everything was starting to break down.
The VSA and check engine came on (apparently I need a new Charcoal canister which controls emmissions). The engine oil started to leak. The AC compressor went when I turned it on for the first time. Never even used it before. We later found out that they didn’t even fill the car with windshield washer fluid and even coolant. The last two things are a clear sign that they barely checked the car before they listed it for sale.
We called and spoke to the Parts and service manager and he said «he would take care of it». We came in later and met with a guy named Joe in the Service Dept. and also met with the Service manager. Again the manager said he would make it right.
A couple days later a tech calls and goes over everything that was wrong with the vehicle and tells us what everything costs. I was astonished because the manager said Toyota would handle the repairs for free. Again I spoke with the manager over the phone and listed my grievances. He said the only thing he could do is offer us a $ 300 credit towards the repairs which was basically nothing considering how much evrything was going to cost. He is a LIAR. Never go there.
With everything that is wrong with the car they never should have sold it in the first place. They should have sold it off to auction.

Took my car in for warranty work. Came back with the clock broken. They first told me they weren’t anywhere near the clock then that the hadn’t done anything to break it.
In trying to resolve it they never called back when they said they would. Finally the offered to replace it for $ 250. It’s too bad Unilocal doesn’t offer 0 stars.
To add insult to injury they continued to email and they would not take me off their email list.

Review for Service area ONLY
I usually hesitate to go to the dealerships because they always manage to find some way to absolutely rip you off, but Toyota of Hackensack is one of those dealerships that has actually earned my trust. I received many recall notices from Toyota and many months later, finally decided to take care of it so that the notices would stop coming in.
Do you and them a favor, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT if you plan on picking up your car that day. They will give your car the same amount of attention they give to other customers so expect to wait a while.
After you pull up, a guy will take down your car’s information (VIN, license plate #, etc). Don’t be alarmed, he is only taking down the vehicle information and not giving any sort of diagnostic to your vehicular issues. Give him your signature to ensure the information he took down is correct and then proceed inside.
This next portion confused me a bit at first (and doesn’t make that much sense to me now either). It’s a small office space with about 6 – 8 desks and everything is open. There are no barriers separating the desks. Your first stop is going to see the «greeter» on your left immediately upon entering. She checks you in if you have an appointment made/​fills you in as a walk-​in and then waves you in the general direction of the managers who will then evaluate what you came in for, give you an estimate, etc (stop #2). Your third stop is most likely the waiting room where they have stocked it with beverages and light refreshments.
I left work early to attend to this appointment after calling Toyota of Hackensack and asking them if they had WiFi in their waiting room. They assured me they did and only after I arrived did they tell me that their WiFi had not been working since Hurricane Sandy. I completely understand that the hurricane affected many areas really badly and do not hold anything against them for that, but I’m confused as to why it wasn’t communicated to me when I called to inquire that their WiFi wasn’t working so then I could properly plan from my end instead of being stuck in the waiting room unable to do work for 3 hours.

Well I never thought I’ would be giving a car dealership five stars. The thought of car shopping makes me cringe. I hate car salesman as much as I do lawyers… maybe more.
After buying two cars from this dealership I have to say both times were pleasant experiences. This dealership is low pressure. They worked with us on the price as much as can be expected and there was no pressure to buy expensive add-​ons. The salesman, Joe, was such a nice person to deal with.
Very relaxed and low pressure. I had a new car in a little over an hour.
