Honda of Hackettstown

Update: Fast Forward after posting reviews on social media sites regarding our frustrations contacting the sales person, Vinnie. We were called by the Internet Marketing manager, Ronnie, who resolved the issues we had with our purchase. Yay for Ronnie!
In the end we received what we expected, a Civic that met all the points on the Honda Certified Pre-​Owned checklist.
It seems like this dealer is trying to improve their game and I respect that.
First review: The start was rocky, as we purchased this certified, pre-​owned Civic a week ago. Our sales person, Vinnie, appeared to be straight and to the point. Before we purchased this Certified Preowned Civic, we noticed a large scrape on the passenger front end bumper. I asked about it wondering if it happened in their lot. I had assumed that certified preowned cars came pretty much scratch-​free. Vinnie retorted with that is only on the metal and not the bumper. That it could be touched up with some paint. He’d have it taken care of. «Okay» we thought.
Monday we started reading the wording that they gave us on the «Honda Certified Pre-​Owned Checklist», it states a Certified Program Standard of «Scratches greater than 4 inches, dings/​dents that cannot be covered with a dime and/​or damage that penetrates to the metal must be repaired». «
We tried multiple times over the course of this week to reach Vinny (emails and phone messages) and then a pre-​owned sales manager (left phone message) to no avail.
They’ve completely dropped the ball after the deal was signed. It’s unbelievable that we cannot even get a return phone call. What seemed fantastic turns out to be just another car dealership with all that implies.
We even contacted Honda of America only to be told that NY/​NJ dealers are all franchises and have a horrible reputation for follow-​up. No Kidding

I am very happy with my new Honda purchase! Under new management recently, these folks are really trying their best to build and earn a top notch reputation.
I knew the model I wanted, they are 35 min away so we struck a deal over the phone. They honored the deal to the penny! My offer, was written in detail, including fees for Delivery, Documentation, Advertising, any and all other fees on an email… so no surprises and everyone was pleased.
I felt their Extended warranty was a fair price too… to cover basically all non-​insurance claim problems (mechanical, electronics, parking-​lot-​dings, etc…) It’s not super cheap, but seems worth it if you keep the car for a long time, and something you may want to investigate while shopping.
Got there at 7pm, left at 10pm with a new Civic… they close at 9pm… we were the only customers left but employees from: management, sales, credit, and car-​cleaning remained just for us! Their efforts and patience are pretty rare these days…
Service…free oil changes for as long as you own your car… nice…

This service department is ok. I was quoted over $ 100.00 just to check brake. I thought it was expensive and went to another mechanics for another quote. The other auto place was reasonable with price and I decided to go with other car service place.

As much as I love having a Honda for many years, it is even better now that we have Hackettstown Honda in town. Their customer service is wonderful. Thanks for coming to Hackettstown !

So far, so good. I have used their service department about 3 times so far. They are easy to work with and were flexible when I needed a loaner car right away. I am no longer going back to the dealership where I used to have my car serviced. Very glad to have another option near Western Morris County.

This was the best first date EVER.
For $ 19.99 I received an oil change and full car wash. They even managed to buff out the scuffed paint stain. They open doors, provide great coffee, let me watch sex and the city in the waiting room. Extremely clean and waaay better than Paramus and Denville.
