History

Established in 2013.

Satrang was created in Upcountry Maui by Harpreet Purewal and Jason Murthi. Harpreet Purewal who’s family comes from northern India, gathered her knowledge of Indian food from her mother and by participating in her family-​owned restaurant in Sacramento, California. Jason Murthi who’s family comes from southern India, grew up eating the scrumptious meals prepared by his mother and has managed restaurants in California and Maui. Together they wanted to bring their knowledge of Indian food and culture to the Maui community.

Good, authentic North & South Indian truck food at affordable prices. Combo plate was $ 10.99 for 2 curries, lemon rice & naan. Good Masala Dosas (gluten-​free) & samosas. Not a huge selection, but items are labelled vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-​free. Outdoor tables in a parking lot. Other truck choices nearby for your group. Closed Thursdays!

I’m seriously addicted to Indian food and this is my go to spot on Maui ! Friendly service and food made with love. You have to try the Dosa and Lassi it’s out of this world. The combo curry plate is a great deal as well.

Unbelievable… the flavors are layered and so yummy– their curries are hot, sweet and plentiful… The naan cooked just right for dipping into their homemade cilantro hot sauce– lemon rice is zesty and clean, and the price is very fair– Friendly curbside service and tables with lights at night. These guys work hard and are super friendly. Thanks for being in Haiku

I love their food because I’m gluten free and I’m always looking for food that’s naturally gluten free like them. The food they make hits every taste note. And the sauces and chutneys they offer complimentary are delicious. This is some of the best healthy Indian food I’ve had. Street Indian food in San Francisco and satrang food truck on par! Thank you Jason and harpreet for your hard work and love and care preparing your food. Can’t wait till you have a truck or something permanent.
