I absolutely love Underdog. I like how spacious it is and that there is a lovely patio outback. The food is so amazing here, they really stepped it up a notch as far is bar food goes. Their chef knows what he’s doing! I also absolutely love all of the bartenders and how nice they are. The drinks are well priced too!

Weird and rundown, but the food and service were so good! Food is quick and delicious. Bar food — nothing fancy. Small, but decent beer selection. They serve food super late, which is awesome.

Best wings around the area. Texas drunken wings and Thai chili wings. In my opinion better then Jimmy Geez. Pleasant environment. There famous underdog drink is great. I’m a weekly customer and happy to have found this place.

Hands down the best wings in Haledon! And yes better than Jimmy «u know what». I even go this place just to pickup wings to go. Wish they had delivery service though.

This was my first visit to Underdog. It was 12:30pm on a Wednesday. I had to stay local since my car was in the shop. I saw a Haledon truck parked outside which gave me hope that the place wasn’t empty. I ordered the $ 5.00 lunch special with the addition of an underdog. I watched the MLB Network and channel 7 news on one of at least 8 televisions while listening to modern country/​pop music. Looking around, there’s an ATM, digital Juke Box and three dart boards. The burger was fine with the half pound providing the majority of the meal. I really like the hot dog. There was a good combination of hot dog and cheese. The bun could had been softer though. I received sides of french fries for each meal. Appearantly everyone knows Bev since I heard that name often.

I can honestly say I go hog wild over this place, Sunday is the best day to be there with there bacon tacos and specials, as seen in my picture, there rolls are amazing, burgers are really good, and the sliders are a must, the look of the place it’s self is nice looking in a classic nice bar type way,

No stars, racist place, don’t go here unless your white, me and two friends went, me and my friend are brown our other friend is white, needless to say they didn’t id our white friend but stared at our ids for minutes and the bartender was a b i t c h, she made us feel uncomfortable she was rude and didn’t speak to us and looked at us side eyed, i will never go back here they can keep it, drinks were not even good, i will stick to la hacienda where they treat everybody equal and there drinks are WAY BETTER !! And it does not let me post unless i put two stars. Ok. Notice almost all good reviews are from white people

Staff was great. I love the dog bowls. My bf and I were determined to find a bar that sold them. We were pleased. The only catch is the only drink they serve in dog bowl form is a Long Beach. Def going back!

College bar, music wise it sucks but drinks wise not bad… also one of the only decent places around willy p… Food is terrible and the dog bowls aren’t bad!

Came here to turn up for my boy Breezi’s birthday. We were both starving so I hit up Unilocal to find somewhere nearby we could eat and take shots. My eyes were instantly drawn to pictures of Bacos (bacon tacos), never mind the 4.5 star rating! We were off and soon enough the baco had exceeded our expectations. I also had the delicious SurfenTurfer, which is the first time I’ve ever ate a burger topped with fried shrimp. They also serve dog bowls, which feature a concoction of liquor that is not to be underestimated. You also get to keep the bowl! The place also has a stage for bands and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Will be back!

Underdog is a deceiving place, it looks like it would be a dump, instead it’s super clean, the staff is really funny, the food is tasty, the drinks are great, they serve food till 1:30am (everyday!) and the bathrooms are spotless.
We came here on a Sunday before a holiday, the crowd was diverse — football watchers, college kids, drunk townies, and us. Great people watching opportunities abound.
Sunday is lovely day at Underdog… bacon. Tons of bacon items that actually taste really good. The bacon shell taco is not greasy, it’s awesome. The bloody mary with bacon wrapped asparagus was spicy and just strong enough.
This place is great, highly recommend it; tons of TV’s great jukebox (top 2 songs are Taylor Swift songs, so that should tell you something). I love it here. Come. Now.

My immediate impression of this place was fear. The vibe upon entering is shady and the people appear even shadier. However, within the 2 hours I spent at the Underdog Bar & Grill it formed a special place in my heart.
While it looks like a typical dive bar upon entering, upon closer inspection — everything is clean. Almost as if they are purposely going for this type of look because someone is clearly «caring» for the place. No dust on the vents, no stickiness on the bar — clean.
My husband and I went on a Sunday evening. They have a «bacon menu takeover» which includes a taco with the shell made entirely of bacon and various other bacon items that also include bacon drinks. I can only speak for the bacon taco which was so good that I ordered a second. I had 2 Guinness and the pour was perfect on both and for only $ 3.50. My husband had a mozzarella and tomato salad which was on point and I also had jalapeño poppers which were stuffed with blue cheese and were good.
The bartender was personable and pleasant and while the music from the juke box left a bit to be desired, overall — what an awesome find. I’m already planning a return trip.

Everyone comes here Thursday nights. Great drink and food specials. Loud and has a younger crowd.

Great review for great service. A couple months back my birthday fell during a huge snow storm. Being a Willy p student, I didn’t want that so stop me from my fun… so the closest place to the school was Underdog. And I don’t regret it. It’s a very chill place to relax, play pool, and play darts. Clean and cozy. Especially in the middle of the winter.
Granted it was in the middle of a huge natural disaster. But the owner opened it up anyway and a few close friends and I had the place to ourselves. The owner was extremely accommodating and nice. He immediately guessed I was Filipino and my friends and I ended having long conversations of his travels to the Philippines, and how he loved the culture.
So if you need some where to sit, have a drink, and someone talk to… talk to the owner lmao.
Other than that, I did not have the food. But I had that huge concoction called the Doggie Bowl. It’s a nice mixture of unknown liquor and punch. Which brought me back to my dorm shwasty poo as hell.

This place gets my SEAL OF APPROVAL! where else can you go in North Jersey and get a mix crowd, football games, live bands, a beautiful patio with seating, yummy food GREAT PRICES and the best bartender ever (Connie). That’s right UNDERDOG LOUNGE in Haledon NJ. If you’re ever in doubt about what to have just order the dawggy bowl. That’s right a delicious alcohol drink served in a dawggy bowl ENJOY!

I came here for Saturday night karaōke. The crowd was on the older side. The bartenders were really nice. I ordered the Doggy Bowl which tasted like a REALLY strong fruit punch drink. Not normally my thing, but I had to try it! I ordered the Jalapeño Poppers and really liked them. They definitely weren’t frozen. The fire dipping sauce was really yummy, tasted similar to buffalo sauce. The place is the perfect size for a karaōke setting. I played a round of pool too. Overall a decent bar, but wouldn’t rush back here.

The underdog is one of my favorite bars in all of New Jersey, I always go there whenever I am in the area. Underdog has really good food and the wings and burgers are some of the best you will find. They run a good happy hour special till 8:00 during the week and usually have a good band playing on Saturday nights. The bartenders are always friendly and helpful as well. The Underdog is what every neighborhood bar should be, good food and good times.

This place is one of hidden gems of Passaic county. The burgers are probably one of the best and comes with large amount of fries. The atmosphere is amazing and is a classic place to chill with friends. And I will also recommend the inferno wings.
Also there is a great pool table which is a dollar per game (what a steal), and dart boards which is FREE! But they will ask for an I.D. as a collateral.
