Well, this is not a well established food truck operated by quite new in business Korean operator. Not very impressed with the quality & taste of the food I ate. Beware of the fruit soda the truck sells. It says 5% or 10% real fruit juice depicting its big print of 100% natural. It tastes like heavily water infused drink. Side rice was very mesh. The shrimp is not originated from the local farm as the owner told me, hence it is imported from an unknown country. At the time of my visit there, there was a Korean family who ordered one shrimp dish and one steak dish, the owner of the truck provided the two steak dishes and the family complained. I clearly heard what the family ordered, and they were right. The owner lady rather told them that they can’t even identify what they ordered. WTF?!?

This little truck is just past the other, more famous one in North Shore. One really good sign this is for real: *everyone* eating looked local. Prices were better and the buttery shrimp were to die for. Service was a bit slower than expected. Will come again, if I come again to Oahu.

this gave me a terrible stomach ache. i’m pretty sure they didn’t wash their hands before preparing the food. also the chicken was very low quality. gross overall and didn’t seem that clean.

Yoon’s Shrimp. BBQ — Haleiwa, Hawaii — October 2011 Ben and I happened upon this brightly painted school-bus-turned-shrimp-truck while driving around the North Shore of Oahu on our honeymoon. As soon as we spoke with the 6 local construction workers waiting for their food, we knew we had found something great! Ben had the Steak & Garlic Shrimp and I chose the Spicy Shrimp for the sake of variety. As soon as I tasted the Garlic Shrimp I wished I had plate after giant plate of that deliciousness. I still managed to leave the single picnic table set up nearby, stuffed. I don’t know if Yoon’s Shrimp bus is always in the same location, but would be very worth seeking out if you’re on the North Shore of Oahu.
