Our fast, 4 hour dry time ensures that your carpet is never saturated and that your carpet pad stays dry removing the risk of mold and mildew. No matter how big or how small your project, our effective all natural cleaning method is sure to extend the life of your carpet, and protect you, your family and the earths health.

History

Established in 2009.

After my own personal bad experience with our local carpet cleaners I decided to do some research to find a better solution and was not able to find what I was looking for. What I wanted was a carpet cleaner that offered me the following services.

1. Environmentally Friendly — Someone who uses «plant based» solutions

2. Reasonably Priced — Not the classic bait-​and-​switch

3. Reliable — Showed up on time

4. Professional — Made me comfortable and answered my questions.

5. Dry Carpets — I could walk on my carpets 4 hours, not 12+ hours

My family and I have lived on the San Mateo coast for over 10 years now and love it. Half Moon Bay and the people here have provided us with a community unlike anywhere else in the world. Living in such a place has given me the opportunity to own a retail store on Main Street, Tu Pueblo, specializing in traditional folk art and crafts from Mexico as well as being able to provide a much needed service of eco-​friendly carpet cleaning to the greater Bay Area area.

Just had our carpets done today and I am impressed! With two dogs (one elderly pup with occasional accidents), and a messy 10yr our carpets were in tough shape. Sal was highly recommended and with good reason. He was accommodating with scheduling, friendly, and went above and beyond (did our stairs, even though we made no mention of including them). Pricing was very reasonable and we will definitely be using sal/​biosteam in the future and be recommending him to friends and family! Very happy with the customer service, and quality of work :)

When I asked for recommendations on someone to hire to clean my carpets, everyone pointed me to Sal at Biosteam! I have new, white carpets that had been devastated by contractors when I renovated my bathrooms earlier this year. And, I have a new baby in the house that is just starting to crawl, so a non-​toxic, environmentally friendly cleaning process is important to me. Sal just left, and the carpets look brand new again! Not only is he great at what he does, but Sal is an overall great guy, and he is honest and helpful. I highly recommend him!

I can’t recommend Biosteam highly enough. Sal, the owner, just left my house and my carpets looking spotless. He also cleaned the upholstery on a few antique chairs that I have, and they have never looked better. The best part is that he doesn’t use harsh chemicals. He was extremely courteous, friendly, and honest. His prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend him. He is the owner and operator, and so that provides an extra level of assurance that he’s doing a good job. Hire him. You won’t be sorry.

Responsive on the phone; prompt on the day of service; friendly and courteous; careful about our things; got the carpets very clean; no harsh smells or chemicals; a very fair price, with no surprises except how well it all went. Couldn’t ask for more. (Sal owns the business, so he’s very focused on satisfying customers.) The only issue: it took longer than I expected for the carpet to fully dry– but this was a function of the weather, I think, and certainly not under his control.
I’d use him again in a heartbeat.

First time having our wool rugs cleaned and my experience with Biosteam Carpet Care was excellent! With 2 dogs and a 1 year old tracking in dirt from the outside we knew it was time to show our rugs a little love. Sal from Biosteam was great. After I left a message with Biosteam, Sal returned my call promptly, answered all my questions, and set up an appointment that fit my schedule. He arrived on time and did a thorough job. Our living room rug gets the most foot traffic and Sal took his time going over it a few times to get it clean. The two best parts of the experience: Sal’s warmth and friendliness and the fact that he uses natural non-​toxic ingredients to clean carpets. I’ll be referring him to all of my friends and intend to use him the future!

If I could give 10 stars I would! AMAZING is all I can say…
I have used lots of carpets cleaners and pretty much expect them to be late, nope, he said 11:30 and he was here at 11:30! Super personable, we went through the house, I pointed out the places that needed attention and he was on it, explained the process and what to do after he left (heat on, fans, windows open).
He will have a long and successful career if he continues to business in this manner, totally impressed with how clean my carpets are and the integrity of this company.
You will not be disappointed!

I planned to clean the carpets before the baby arrived, or at least before she crawled. Well, it didn’t happen until she was already steadily walking around! Third child… better late than never?
Awhile ago I bought a Groupon to get it done. I really liked the fact that they use only natural cleaners, not chemicals. That’s important when your children spend a lot of time playing games and rolling around on the floor!
Sal came to do the job mid-​morning. He was super-​friendly, quick and efficient. I pointed out some trouble spots — marker stains, spilled milk stains, generally dirty areas due to lots of traffic… After only about an hour, our area rug and 3 bedrooms looked fantastic! It was warm that day so we opened up the windows, turned on a fan and voila! That evening, they were dry. Thanks Biosteam.

I purchased a Unilocal Coupon here for them to clean my carpet for $ 100. They did a great job. I originally tried to clean the carpets in my apartment myself renting the Rug Doctor. Well it did a pretty good job of making the stains MUCH MORE NOTICEABLE. So I ended up find this company from Unilocal.
The carpets look good, and the employee was knowledgeable. The only thing was that he was late, but I was not in a hurry to be anywhere, so it did not bother me. However, please be sure to keep your day open just in case the carpet cleaner is lagging.

I bought a Groupon and was excited to have my carpet cleaned, but my experience with the owner left a bad impression. I know the rules of Groupon are «no changes;» however, emergencies arise and exceptions can be made IF the business owner is willing. The owner of Biosteam was unwilling to accommodate my emergency as I unfortunately had to undergo an unexpected surgery. This owner raised his voice, was extremely agitated at my request to adjust the date of my carpet cleaning, and complained like a total unprofessional at how much money he was losing as a result of all the Groupons that were sold.
Number #1 My request to move the date of my carpet cleaning was not that unreasonable
Number #2 I do not care about your profit & loss– it is your business, not mine and if you cannot handle the volume of Groupon you should not have participated. Do not complain to me that you are losing money on Groupon.
Number #3 Do not make me feel like a criminal because somehow by me using a Groupon that I paid for, I am somehow contributing to your business’ losing money or stealing your profit margin. How dare you!
Number #4 The unprofessional-​ism of the owner was really uncalled for.
The agent that came to clean the carpet did an outstanding job and at least he was awesome and totally professional. If you decide to use this company, you will probably have very clean carpets when the service is clean, but you should be aware that if anything goes wrong and you need customer service, based on my experience, you probably will NOT get it.
I liked the results of my carpet, but the professionalism of the owner leaves me searching for better because I cannot reward greedy owners that treat customers like criminals.
