History
Established in 2001.
Pronounced che-trella and named for Capri’s fragrant valley with panoramic views, Cetrella offers rustic, worldly and free-spirited Mediterranean-rim and California coastal cuisine. Its flagship restaurant on the San Mateo Coastside, Cetrella Half Moon Bay, launched in September 2001 in what was once the headquarters for the Half Moon Bay Growers’ Association where farmers once trucked in brussels sprouts & artichokes. It garnered national recognition, with early features in Gourmet Magazine and San Francisco Chronicle’s Top 100 Restaurants. For five years the Michelin Guide for the San Francisco Bay Area Recommended Cetrella. Today, the ties to sustainable farmers, fishermen, ranchers and artisan purveyors remain strong.
