Specialties

I am a freelance artist/​illustrator who specializes in architectural renderings. I draw houses! I have completed hundreds of home portraits in pen and ink, for clients all over the country. They make outstanding gifts for housewarmings, birthdays, weddings and many other occasions.

The highest percentage of my customers, however, are realtors who would like to present their clients with a closing gift. Whether sellers or buyers, a home portrait is a very personal and memorable gift that will remind them of the hard work and dedication their realtor provided. It is also a gift that will be seen and commented on by all visitors to their home!

History

Established in 1998.

I started drawing pen and ink house portraits more than twenty years ago, when I was a high school art teacher. I enjoyed teaching students how to see and draw in perspective, and upon seeing my samples, friends would ask to have their homes sketched.

I now have done hundreds of renderings of homes and other buildings for clients all over the country. My wife and son and I live in the coastside town of Half Moon Bay, which is also a vibrant artist community. In the portfolio section of my website, you’ll also see local historical buildings and landscapes which I sell as limited edition prints.

I am 49 years old and live in the Miramar neighborhood of HMB with my son, wife, cat and Australian shepherd. I am a 1988 graduated of Dickinson College and received my Masters of Art Education from SUNY New Paltz in 2000.

Besides my love of architecture and illustration, I am an avid long distance runner, backpacker and sports fan.

Chris is a talented artist and true professional. I am always amazed by each line drawing that he produces as they look so true to life. They look like an actual photograph. He is so detailed with each, sometimes working on such tight timeframes. He hand delivers them to my office all wrapped up with a pretty red bow. Some clients get very emotional when they see his art. Many have cried as they were so touched by his work. Over the weekend I delivered a drawing to my clients in their brand new home. They were so thrilled that my clients posted it on «Twitter» the next day announcing their special gift. Chris thank you for touching so many peoples lives. It makes a fantastic closing gift for all. It feels good when I visit my clients years later and they have it hung on their wall. I think every realtor should consider using him!

Chris has done *amazing* line drawings of my client’s homes for several years now. The drawings are really special closing gifts for my clients when they are selling or buying a home. And then recently, I had Chris do a drawing of a home before it went on the market because work was being done to it and I needed to do some upfront marketing and a photo wouldn’t work since the yard was torn up.
Chris is always easy to work with and has been very quick with some tight deadlines I’ve given him and he does it with a smile on his face. He is also willing to go out of his way on a project — I’ve had one framed in a pink frame, I had another one where he had to add in a neon sign on a home (that’s a long story — but the point is that Chris was willing to accommodate it).
I’ve had several clients well up with tears when I’ve given this gift because it is so sentimental and everyone really appreciates the unbelievable detail that Chris gets in each of his drawings. I highly, highly recommend him!
