History

Established in 1960.

Parsons Accounting has always been a family business, proudly serving our community since the 1960s.

The firm was founded by William (Bill) Parsons. Bill grew up in Kansas and volunteered for duty during WWII, where he was a navigator on a B-​17 bomber plane. After the war, Bill worked for the FBI and IRS before he became an Enrolled Agent and founded Parsons Accounting.

In 1985, John Parsons joined his father Bill to form Parsons & Son, relocating the business to 240 Main Street in 1987, and later to its current location at 721 Purissima Street in Downtown Half Moon Bay. As the business continued to grow, John became aware of both his clients’ need for comprehensive financial advice and his desire to provide such advice. John became a Certified Financial Planner™ in 1995; this was the start of Parsons Financial Advisors.

Business Owner

John M. Parsons is the owner of Parsons Financial Advisors and Parsons Accounting & Tax Services in Half Moon Bay, CA. He provides his clients with «peace of mind», knowing they have a trusted professional who has developed and implemented a unique comprehensive financial plan wedded with their life goals.

John is a CPA, CFP®, an independent financial advisor, and has also obtained his insurance and real estate licenses. John addresses areas such as financial independence, tax planning, education planning, legacy planning, customized investment strategies, protection planning, mortgage planning, retirement planning, etc.

John was born and raised in Half Moon Bay, and feels very fortunate to have a business that he loves serving his hometown. John stays very involved with his community, and outside of work, he enjoys nature, yoga, coaching and playing basketball, and taking trips to Hawaii.
