I was out of the neck of my woods while training for a new job at the corporate location in Gulfstream. I needed to find a place to eat and I stumbled upon Caffe Martier. This café is amongst other restaurants and shops. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has a nice variety of food. They have anything from salads, soups to sandwiches and even offer a veggie burger for non meat eaters. There is also a nice display of pastries. The food was good. The place itself is clean and cozy. The service was very fast. I also think the people who work there have great customer service as they are so polite and efficient. The only thing I would say that I thought was a little off was the prices. I think for what the food is everything is slightly overpriced.

Situated in the Village of Gulfstream, this caffe is within walking distance of the *new* office space and thus has been added to the work-day lunch rotation. Yay, change! — The service is good; very polite and speedy. — The menu is pretty large, not overwhelming and *sounds* delicious. — Breakfast is served until noon; however they don’t open before 11am.(Wait, what?) — Prices are typical to Gulfstream clientele(e.g. Sandwich prices, not taste, are comparable to Cheese Course) — On the healthier/lighter side of things — Menu includes: starters, soups, salads, sandwiches, hot dogs, desserts, pastries and a couple entrees. — Sandwiches come with a chickpea salad. YUM. — Craving a $ 7-$ 8 hot-dog, this is your place! — TIP: Be prepared to spend between $ 10 – 15 for lunch That said, Caffe Martier offers something of extreme importance to those who work in the surrounding village: Coffee. Sadly, by opening at 11am and not(way) earlier, they are missing out at making tons of money off of mine as well as my co-workers’ caffeine addictions. *hint open earlier hint* Overall, just another option for Villagers who don’t want a heavy lunch or long wait time.

I have never received such horrible customer service in my life. I stopped in on December 22, 2010 around 9:30PM. Ordered two drinks and decided to order an additional drink for an eight-year-old child. Ok maybe the communication between me and the clerk wasn’t 100 percent clear on the last drink but when I ask for the order to be changed I shouldn’t receive the response«What do you want me to do with this drink now» and«Well that is what you ordered» with an attitude is not cool. Maybe they have excellent drinks but with that kind of customer service, I would rather not spend my money there. If the manager of this place is reading this please reprimand, retrain or fire the person you had working that night. I know there are plenty of people that need a job this time of year. So much for trying to support the little guy. Now back to Starbucks.

I started stopping by here while doing construction inspections for a different new restaurant my firm is doing at Gulfstream. Based on the music alone, it’s much better and brighter than the ‘Green Mermaid’. Their«soundtrack» is a mix of the trance and hiphop stations from Sirius. If it were a club, Caffe Martier would be 5 stars hands down! The baristas are also friendly, and I like the fact they listened to suggestions to return the good music when they temporarily switched the music to something jazzy. However, it’s a coffee place and I need to rate it as such. The selection is similar to most of the commercial coffee chains, as are the prices. They could stand to have more variety with regard to the pastries. However, the crossaint I ate was fresh tasting. Because of the friendly service, I can only take away one star.
