Wow, just wow! The food was amazing! This place is everything I look for when trying to find a good diner. The service was wonderful, and the atmosphere is great! We got the daily special and there was enough food for 2 people! We also tried the homemade butterscotch pie, and the only thing to say about it is OMG! it was also just great!

Standard old school diner with an extensive menu of diner food done right and a great value for the money. The same family has owned and run this business since the mid-1940s. The from-scratch pan fried chicken is crispy and perfectly seasoned, and everyone should try the amazing spiral fries. Apparently they’re known for their homemade pies, but I couldn’t managed to stuff down another bite.

I have been coming to Hyde’s for over 30 years. This restaurant is a fixture in my life. The restaurant itself isn’t fancy or brand new but it has a timeless diner charm. The food is affordable and tasty. The servers are friendly and proficient. After countless visits to this establishment, I have never had a bad experience. My family is obsessed with the pies and we visit Hyde’s as often as we can!

Comfort food is the best way to describe this place. A small mom and pop type restaurant that sits right off route 4. Parking lot is small, but the food is really good. My little girl got the seafood platter and I got the BLT. Very good, great service and they are very friendly. Give it a try…

This place has the best biscuits & gravy anywhere. I have been going there for almost my entire life and just keep going back time after time.

So about two weeks ago, I got Sunday brunch with my sister at a place she had told me about less than 10 minutes away from us in Hamilton. It was definitely hidden and older, with limited parking so I was not sure what to expect. The inside was built in the style of an old diner, decorated with rustic signs with witty quotes on them and other cute accents. The restaurant was pretty full, so I knew it had to be good! The menu had all your basic breakfast essentials including goetta, which is my favorite breakfast meat. I got a breakfast sampler of eggs, bacon, goetta, hashbrowns, and toast. Their house coffee that they’re known for was very good, so I was able to drink it black. For dessert, we chose the blackberry cobbler. which was absolutely yummy! The only thing I would change is to add more of the crust, but the filling was good enough to eat plain! I would definitely recommend coming here if you enjoy little old mom&pop places and trying one of their homemade pies is a MUST!

Really fun atmosphere, cute little diner that you can tell is popular with the locals. Everyone’s very friendly! I got breakfast and everything was great, including the perfectly made, no runny white in my over medium eggs, and the lots of butter on one side of the toast like it should be. And, my favorite part: the coffee cups are pretty small so it doesn’t cool off too much, but they come around very regularly with refills. I’m a fan.

I had a friend in from out of town recently and I decided to take her to a Hamilton staple. Hyde’s has been around for as long as I can remember, and I honestly thought I hadn’t ever been until a conversation with my mom. She reminded me that I had gone as a child with her and my grandma many years ago. When we walked in, we were definitely some of the younger folks in there, but it felt like home nonetheless. It’s a divey diner type of atmosphere. If you are regular here all the servers start to treat you like family as was evidenced by a man sitting next to us. Our server told us how she had worried when she hadn’t seen him for a few days, and now she asks him to call the restaurant and give them a heads up if he won’t be in that day. The wall is covered with locals and regulars with notes and stories next to their smiling photos. It just feels so inviting. I ordered the goetta grilled cheese, with the potato soup. The sandwich was a great form of comfort food, and I will definitely get it again. The potato soup was honestly pretty bland and watery, and that I would definitely not get again. The others ordered the chicken and dumplings and the biscuits and gravy, and they were happy with their orders as well. Our server was incredibly friendly, and talked to us as if she had known us all of her life. I will definitely go back, and I’ll take some friends from out of town with me!

Don’t miss this diner gem! Breakfast of goetta, over-medium eggs, toast and coffee was good and cheap. They keep the coffee full(and it’s included with your meal). Don’t expect fancy– just expect nice people and good grub.

This place has been around for years. If you are looking for true comfort food this is Where you will find it. All of the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. A large selection of items on the menu. Some marked as favorites and others marked as healthy. I didn’t order any but I understand the pie is the reason people go here. Well I’m sure they go for the food too because everybody had full plates. But when my friends found out I went there for lunch they asked«what pie did you order.» I was so stuffed from my roast beef hotshot lunch that I didn’t even order pie. In hindsight I wish I would’ve ordered some to go. I arrived after the lunch crowd and the restaurant was still a third full. I could tell by the patrons that there’s a lot of regular people that visit this place. My parents, aunts, and uncles all from this area and they all ate here frequently before everybody moved away. They were all a little jealous last week when I told them where I had lunch.

I have eaten here a few times, the food I have had is mediocre for a diner. In fact I am on a search for a great diner in the area and best I can come up with is Pearls, and they aren’t that great. If they have home made food here I didn’t see it.

We went to Hydes after hearing from several friends that it was really good. I had the turkey platter. The turkey was juicy & delicious. The gravy was obviously homemade, SUPER yummy! The dressing was also moist, delicious and homemade as were the mashed potatoes… just like grandmas! Fabulous!

If/When I go to Hyde’s, it is usually with my Dad to get breakfast, I don’t know what it is about the breakfast, but it never disappoints. It is not the best breakfast food I’ve had, but when you go there it is delicious, and consistently delicious. I don’t feel like you can take a larger family there(works best with a max party of four), best served as a breakfast or brunch eatery, and I should also point out, that I have never gone in there and it be quiet, it is busy, and there is a continous drone of sound, not enough to annoy, but not enough to not notice. Highly suggest going though

I love Hyde’s and whenever I have an overnight in Hamilton visiting friends/family, I typically wake up and crave it. All I can review is the breakfast, but I’ll be back again and again. Service is friendly and attentive and the food is always consistent… most importantly my eggs are cooked to «over medium» perfection every time. I’ve heard the place has had a remodel at some point not too long ago, but there’s nothing new and shiny about it(nor dirty!). I very much enjoy the quaint diner atmosphere. Aside from Millville Restaurant(which is about equal in my opinion), this is my favorite breakfast spot in the Hamilton area.

A Hamilton institution. Why I have no idea. The best thing they have is the homemade pie, and it’s great. Chicken dinners are small and overpriced. The other items on the menu are decent, but one review mentioned the onion rings as being great. Sorry I can’t agree on that, nor are the burgers anything special. It’s also hands down the most uncomfortable seating in the area. It’s a 3 star place, no more no less.

I cannot believe that Hyde’s hasn’t been reviewed yet on Unilocal. If you spend any time at all in and around Fairfield and Hamilton, Hyde’s is an institution. I’ve only ever eaten breakfast there, so I can’t comment about anything else. Get a couple of sides of gravy and slather it on. This place is all about downhome cooking, straight up. It looks like a total dump from the outside, complete with greasy looking windows. The place is actually pretty dumpy, but the food… oh man… you cannot go wrong with some«stick to your ribs» diner breakfast grub. For no other reason, people watching makes it great. Quite a… shall we say… diversion… from the norm that most of the Cincy folk are used to.
