Mad Mike’s Burgers & Fries

This was quite a bummer because even though the food here was fantastic, I have to say I’m not likely to be going back to eat here again any time soon.
This was our first visit and it smelled delicious. I got the American Outlaw, my son got a kid’s cheeseburger, we got a large fry to share and 2 average size soft drinks. The total for this was $ 20. Not completely outrageous, but very close. There were only 2 tables ahead of us and they had clearly been there a while already so I didn’t think we’d have long to wait. I was terribly mistaken. No exaggeration, it took well over 20 minutes for that small order. And there were 4 people working behind the counter, all moving slow as snails. I worked in food service from the time I was 15 until I was 26 and there was no way we’d get away with having zero hustle and keep our jobs. It was absolutely rediculous. I now understand why every time I drive by the parking lot is empty. Who could possibly have that kind of time to wait for burgers and fries? Particularly employees on their lunch break! Insane. Sad that such good food could be ruined by such slow service.
If they could get some people in there that know how to move with appropriate speed, perhaps they’ll be able to stick around a while longer. But for now, if you want to eat there, order ahead and carry out only.

Good choice for a full lunch. The Shroomin burger is quite the meal for the price. Paired with local beer from Madtree an excellent lazy day lunch. Order the second beer and take a half day!

Most definitely the best tasting burgers in Hamilton. A little expensive but well worth the price. Also the CBR fries are terrific too. I have been there 3 times and every time I have tried something different. Everything I have tried is delicious. I give it 5 stars.

i’ve had better hamburgers at mcdonalds. all i tasted was the over cooked meat and nasty mayo. i got the burger that has avacado because i love avacado.
for a drink i had sweet tea. it was gold peak. but it tasted old like it had been sitting out a few days. ugh.
i couldnt taste the avacado at all. the frys were pretty good. i dont know why my burger needed 2 patties. it certainly didnt help with my weight loss.

Not as good as it was when they first opened. My husband and I loved coming here the first year they opened. The food was really good. We noticed every time we came they seemed to always have a turnover in staff. Tonight was our first time back in about 3 months, and of course there isn’t a familiar face (no surprise) but we waited 20 minutes for dry over cooked burgers and burnt French fries. We don’t plan to return. :(
