Stopped in last night and everything was great. Both the brisket and pulled chicken were cooked perfectly and the rub has a great flavor. I will definitely be back.

Anyone who appreciates authentic BBQ and doesn’t want to drive to the south will find satisfaction here. These guys truly know what they’re doing and they do it in the old fashioned American way with great service! Truly wonderful place to grab some grub to go and satisfy those cravings. They have all the classics and then some BBQ lovers rejoice. Bless!

This is clearly a family owned and operated business. So I feel bad about writing this review but the truth is in the pudding as they say.
First. Let me say I love real deal BBQ. I’ve had the best BBQ of my life in Austin Texas.
Let me also say that Funni Bones in robbinsville is pretty damn good considering the area is pretty devout of good or even any BBQ joints.
We went on a weeknight and the place had a few take out orders going. We ordered a rib platter with brisket, kids ribs with Mac and cheese, and the buffalo chicken on Texas toast sandwich. We also had corn bread and a sweet potato green bean «salad». The brisket was just ok. But too fatty for my taste. Not overly tender. Decent flavor. The ribs were also just ok. Not fall off the bone tender ok flavor. Mac and cheese was pretty weak. Bad even. It was not creamy or cheesy at all. And the green bean and sweet potato salad was served cold which made it very underwhelming. The buffalo chicken salad was good. And the corn bread was probably the best of anything. It was fire grilled with good grill marks and fire toasted flavor.
Only two BBQ sauce options on the table. Both were fine.
Inside there was little to no heat in the dining area and most of the food was a bit too cold. Like they heated it up for serving but didn’t have it hot and ready for serving. They mentioned most of the mid week dinner business is take out.
All in all I can’t really recommend this place. If there was one thing that was bad. Fine. But everything was either poor or mediocre. And with Funni bones just down the road there is no point to go here.

Tried it out with the wife today. We sampled the pit beef, hot sausage and pulled pork. The sides we got were the baked beans, sweet potato salad, red potato salad and corn bread. We were very pleased with all of the food. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. Please stop in and support this local business.

The Smoke-​N-​Grill is truly a diamond in the rough. This establishment knows how to cook bbq. The ribs and the beef brisket are amazing along with the choice of sides. So if you’re ever in the area, come on by and try out all what The Smoke-​N-​Grill has to offer. Kudos!!!

Was craving BBQ, found this little place on Unilocal so decided to give it a shot based on the reviews… what a disappointment! I may have gone on an «off» night but I won’t be returning none the less. We ordered pulled pork sandwiches and a kids rib meal with sides of mac n cheese and an order of the wings. Mac was bland not very cheesey at all, but I let that slide since we went for the BBQ… BLAND and DRY no flavor at all, the wings were also flavorless even with their sauce on them. You have to add your own BBQ sauce which they provide and both versions were very average.
My search continues for some good BBQ in jersey!

Customer service was absolutely excellent. The owner was visiting the tables and the wait staff even came over to tell us about the sauces on the table.
I’ll start by saying I’m no BBQ connoisseur by any means, so perhaps I’m really missing something when I say the food was good, but not great. I had the platter and chose pulled pork and brisket. I thought the meats could use more seasoning but didn’t mind once I dipped them in the Texas Smoke sauce. There was a nice portion of pulled pork but thought the brisket pieces were small in comparison to pictures I had seen posted by other Unilocalers. I also had the Mac n cheese and cornbread. The cornbread was grilled, which was cool, and not too sweet like a real cornbread should be. My fiancé had the St. Louis half rack. He said they were good as well, but is still on the search for the perfect rib. Overall, the place was good– not standout amazing– and we would return to try other items on the menu.

I’m from SC where we know our Cue. This place is as good as Smokin Pig (best in SC… Anderson, SC near Clemson.). Brisket is wonderfully moist and popping with flavor. Try the Texas sauce… spicy with good pepper taste. Great Pinto beans. Didn’t try the pulled port or Mac & cheese but I’m told (by patrons) that they are great. So glad to find a home away from home. Owner and staff are friendly and decent folks to… you’ve got it all here!

Delicious!!! Great BBQ… they aim to please! Yesterday was my first visit and I was very happy ;) I ordered the platter to sample some of the goods. The platter
come with two meats, two sides, and a drink… great bargain. I went with brisket, baby back ribs, texas chili, and corn bread with the memphis bbq sauce. All were excellent!!! The cornbread was phenomenal (real corn and grilled), the ribs and brisket were tender with a subtle smokey-​ness, and the chili may be the best I’ve ever had (great meat to bean ratio with some sweetness and slight kick). Great job team!!! Thank you… I’ll be back!!!

It’s not often that you see a joint that serves smoked meat. Lots of love and attention were put into the meat. The ribs were awesome, with a flavorful bark. Pete the owner can’t be more personable and friendly. Will definitely be coming back since the price is also reasonable.

I went to Smoke N Grill and had a pleasant experience, the brisket was great and seasoned really nice. Also order ribs, they didn’t fall off the bone but were very tasty and i didn’t mind pulling off the bone. Pete the owner came out and introduced himself and seems like a nice family man. Please give this restaurant a try and support small family runs businesses in our hometown of Hamilton NJ.

I’m here probably once a week or so, and I have really enjoyed seeing them add new menu items and improve new ones. The chicken is really well seasoned and tender, and I especially love when they still have rib tips when I stop in. The corn bread has improved greatly and is one of my favorite items as well. The service is good and improving, and receptive to suggestions and comments. A new neighborhood gem.

Awesome BBQ! I highly recommend stopping in and trying their BBQ, the brisket and pork were smoked to perfection! They offer BBQ sauce but honestly the meat was good I didn’t use any.
— The staff are very friendly, you eat inside the completely remodled resturant or take out. They are also CC friendly and have a childrens menu.

I have been all over the south for bbq and it is nice to finally have an authentic style restaurant in jersey that has not been commercialized. Right after walking in I was greeted both times by the staff and owner. The seating area is small but very open as well as the area where they prepare the meal. I felt like I was in Memphis, which I loved.
Now for the food. I will eventually try everything on the menu. So far I have had both style ribs and brisket. I was excited to hear about the dry rub with sides of sauce. All 3 meats were cooked perfectly and had great smoke flavor. They were right on with that. I prefer more flavor in my dry rubs but I know you can’t please everyone 100%. They were still great. The baby back and the brisket were about even with the St. Louis style my least fav. Just not enough meat on the bone but still tasty and cooked perfect. They do a great job here.
I wasn’t impressed w the Mac n cheese as a side but I have heard great things about the bowls. Their green bean and sweet potato side was excellent. Their potato salad was great with the roasted red peppers. Try it!
Finally. The side sauce was store made but tasted a lot like a1 steak sauce. I was hoping for more of a bbq flavor sauce but the smokey flavor compliments their meats very well. I would like to see other sauce options in the future but I can just use my own.
Get out to this place and make sure we give them enough business to stay. Enjoy!
Update. The brisket Mac n cheese bowl was great! I was going to try the sausage this time but I saw the meatloaf on the special board and that was the best meatloaf sandwich I ever had! I think it’s my new number one choice. Great flavor. The pit beef sauce had some real kick to it. Compliments on the entire menu. See you again next week!

Once again thanks go to Gerald S for blazing a Unilocal path to this business. I had heard of it when it opened but his informative review prompted me to give it a try. Coming from NJ, I never experienced bbq that wowed me. And while in the south, seafood was more my focus. But in these changing culinary times it seems that a few good bbq options have arrived in my hometown. And my uneducated tastebuds are grateful.
I came today for an early dinner takeout. I knew I wanted a mac n cheese bowl, but was undecided on which choice of meat. Happily they let me pick 2, pulled pork and Baltimore pit beef. I liked the pork but loved the beef. The Mac was really good too. The friendly cashier included both sauces (Texas and NC) and both are great. I tried their Texas toast as well, and my next visit will include the beef sandwiched between 2 slices of that, with just a smidgen of either sauce. I’m curious as to what Texas potato salad is, so that will be sampled as well. 4.25 smoke ring Unilocal

Cute little place with a few tables and stools. I had ribs and they were very meaty and tasty. They come plain and you can add your own sauce (which is pretty good as well). The corn bread and sweet potato/​green bean salads are both fantastic. The staff was very friendly.
Will definitely be back.

Went here for lunch with my daughter and we both enjoyed our meals. I had the Mac and cheese bowl with pulled pork. My daughter had the pulled pork sandwich. Our meals were delicious, maybe the pulled pork sandwich should have come with some pickles or slaw on the side. This is just my suggestion. Otherwise, we truly enjoyed our meal today. BTW, we ate inside and did not have any issues with it being too hot inside.

Came here with my wife and kids for lunch. This is a small establishment with a couple of large wooden tables and one long bar with stools. You order behind a counter, seat yourself, and staff will bring over your food.
We ordered brisket sandwich, kids mac and cheese meal (has side + drink), meat platter (has 2 meats, 2 sides +drink).
The meats my family tried was the St. Louis ribs and brisket. Both meats had a very nice seasoning! The ribs were moist and fall off the bone. It was delicious. The brisket, although good flavor was a tad dry for our taste. They were thick cuts of beef with a strip of fat on the top of the cut. That really helped make the meat more moist. It was odd that there were no additional sauces at the tables or in the side with the food.
Now the sides. The potato salad was good. The Texas toast with my kids meal was excellent! Buttery toast with the grill marks on it! (taste of flame broiled). The mac and cheese can also be as a side I thought was good. For some reason my kids did not eat much of it. I think it was because we were out most of the hot day. The baked beans had an ok flavor but more on the stiff side.
A couple of negatives. For some reason the place had no A/​C nor fans in 90 degree weather. The place had dim lighting which helped, but it definitely made it uncomfortable to eat. Also the soda machine was broken. I’m not sure if the A/​C was broken, but i can’t see too many people dining in if that was the case. I’m sure it’s just a new business working out the kinks.
I definitely would come back again to try the other bbq meats. The manager and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The manager even went out of his way to split my kids mac n cheese in two portions, which were big, and came by often to see if our meals are good.
Overall the food is decent. It must be considering it’s a passion of this retired law enforcement to open up a BBQ catering company and now a stand alone restaurant. There could be done improvements, but I encourage other Unilocalers to give this place a try.

New special is their Sloppy Tex! It is their slow smoked brisket pulled apart and mixed with their homemade sauce — «sloppy joe» style. There is just a small, perfect amount of heat and the richness of the brisket pairs really well with the sauce. You can have it on a roll or Texas toast … either way, absolutely delicious.
My favorite thing to get is the Pulled Pork, either on a roll or with the Mac and Cheese Bowl. Add some of the delicious house-​made sauce (s) and it gets even better! The brisket is also very well cooked and tastes amazing! I like to pair this with sausage in a platter. The best side at the Smoke-​N-​Grill apparently comes from an old family recipe: the cold Sweet Potato and Green Bean Salad. YUM! Very refreshing!

I don’t claim to be a BBQ maven, but I know what I like when it comes to smoked meats. This new joint at the tail end of Whitehorse-​Hamilton Square Road behind the auto dealers, is totally legit.
Open since July, this is a local business begun as a sidelight to a law enforcement career that slowly evolved into a passionate pursuit of a perfect smoked pork, beef or chicken. The badge was put aside and replaced by the chef’s apron, long forks and secret sauces. It is quite an interesting All American story.
I walked in and immediately felt I was in a country cabin with only a few wooden tables, and a central long bar with stools. The folks behind the counter were friendly and prepared when I admitted this was my first visit. Everything sounded great, but this was my lunch hour after all, and I needed to work when I got back to the office. I ordered the Mac & Cheese Bowl, which was a plastic bowl filled with homemade M & C, but overloaded with my choice of meat, Pulled Pork. I was happy to see far more meat than pasta, as it was in several layers in the bowl.
The Pork was excellent. It was fully cooked, tender and mildly chewy. The flavors it basted in for those long hours in the smoker were pronounced distinctly. I tasted the brown sugar, vinegar, salt, as well as the more secret ingredients. It did not need any help from the table sauce bottle. It was a pleasure to work through the dish, and there was a lot more there then met my eye. I was so full when completed, that I skipped dinner. The owner stopped by to check on my satisfaction, and when I told him it was my first time there, he went into the kitchen and came back with samples of his Burnt Ends (Brisket) and Baltimore Tips (Roast Beef) and Horseradish Sauce. They were also quite good, but I am not really a roast beef guy, so its tenderness and taste were lost on me.
The menu also had an assortment of ribs that I will return to gnaw on someday soon. Baby Backs in Jersey as good as North Carolina?
That, I have to see and taste!
