Really really good. We were seated quickly and had a wonderful server, Hope. Ordered the salmon and bone in pork. Both were cooked perfect. Would highly recommend.

For Hammond, Buddies is ok! I would suggest the bacon wrapped shrimp entrée or the filet mignon with a loaded baked potato. Be sure when you order your steak you tell them do not put the heavy iron on it to help cook it faster because your steak will be burnt on the outside and crispy. My father(81) loves this place. He would give it a 5 Star. He also never left Hammond. **I was not pleased with the wedge salad. The lettuce wedge was set inside facing down on the plate and then topped with the blue cheese crumbles and dressing. This is not how a wedge should be served. The inside should be up in order to allow the dressing to soak inside the leaves of lettuce.

Had dinner here this week. We approached the front station to explain that 3 more were coming and we were going to wait in the bar. We were met with indifference, dismissed quickly and even chastised for going thru the wrong door when it turns out the rooms were connected and the door you used was inconsequential. The décor is nice. Lots of wood and«chunky» pieces on the wall. Dark paint which I love. Very warm and inviting. Keel,(I hope I got that right!) the bartender was really good at his job. He made me a martini exactly the way a martini should be made! He was kind and engaging but distant as not to intrude on us. He’s an asset to this restaurant. We were seated at a great table. Our service and our food were very good. The table had mushrooms and egg rolls for appetizers. Yummy. Entrees included steaks, tuna and catfish. All delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised with the amount of the bill. It was a VERY reasonable amount for dinner for 5 that included some alcohol. Overall a great dinner out.

Buddies is a great place. I have a friend with deep roots in the Pumpkin Center/Ponchatoula/Hammond Metropolitan Area. Whenever I find myself there with time to eat, I ask him for advice. This year he recommended I try Buddies and that’s what I did. While the name suggests this is more of an adult themed establishment, it was a full service, family friendly restaurant. I was a little reluctant taking my youngest in since bar was in the name, but don’t let that stop you. It’s open to all. The food is typical American fare with a good selection of steaks. My entrée was the strip which came well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I opted to add a wedge salad and grilled bacon wrapped shrimp which was a great idea. Their version of a wedge was slightly different than what I’m used to(big tomatoes), but the blue cheese was excellent. If you’re looking for a meal that screams America, this was it. It was also the house special of the day and was only around $ 15. You really can’t beat that. I really enjoyed my visit t Buddies. If you find yourself in Tangi, I encourage you to give them a try.

What a disappointment!!! Arrived ready for a steak and a porkchop. Ordered right away — asked for bread which arrived promptly but no plate to place it on. Ordered the ribeye med rare with house salad $ 25!and my husband ordered the pork chop with a salad with Italian dressing $ 18.50. 20 minutes later the salads arrived with an apology for lateness. House salad was Good but Italian dressing was straight oil. Waited another long wait and watched all others get served that arrived after us— finally out meal arrived. My ribeye was cold potato was cold and I believe I could of gotten a better looking steak at Waffle House walked out never to return

I came to Buddies with a group of nine for a quick dinner. Three children, six adults. The kids ordered kid stuff and five of the six adults got steaks, four of which were petit filets. Our waitress was really nice… but seemed to have a problem getting the steaks paired with the correct person(probably an easy thing to do considering half of us ordered simple variations on the same dish). For the sides everyone sort of played a friendly game of grabass, guessing who had whose potato, etc. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done. That being said, the cut of meat was really great, so the steak was still delicious. Our waitress knew that we were in a hurry and she did a great job letting the kitchen know that. We were in and out with full bellies in about 45 minutes.

Great service in a nice atmosphere. We ordered spinach dip for the table, a bottle of Malbec and cocktails later. Everything was going great until the entrees arrived. The guys ordered ribeyes, and the ladies chose a tuna steak and a filet. Everything came out beautifully, but my filet, which was ordered medium, came out med-well to well. Now I know that hardest thing in the world is to make a filet to medium temperature, but if steaks are your thing, and you charge a pretty penny per plate, I’m going to need you to know what you’re doing. Round 2 was much better! Once it was cooked right, it was a fantastic sear, a good seasoning blend, and a melt-in-your-mouth center. I’d definitely go back. This would have been a three star review, but the chef came out to ask exactly what I wanted to see before he refired my steak. Much appreciated service, I must say. «Two thumbs up. Fine holiday fun!»

I came here for my first time. I was warmly greeted at the door and service was prompt and on point. I ordered a grilled tuna steak and it was AMAZING! I wonder if the tuna was brought in from Venice that day?! Anyways, I stayed and drank a few beers as the ambient lighting and music was so great.

This place needs a little fixing up, it is run down a little, but the bar tender recommended the pork chops and I am glad I listened. They were the best chops I have ever eaten.

yes please!!! the steak was awesome, the potato was perfect, the spin dip was abundant, the salad… eh, but overall this place was great. the inside was definitely surprising considering that its in an old strip mall that never amounted to anything. i really liked it and WILL be back

We love the steaks here. We have been several times and they are always consistent. The price is very reasonable.

Probably the best steak you’d get in Hammond and for a decent enough price. Very family friendly as they always bring out kids food first for impatient toddlers. Service is outstanding and very friendly.

My pork chop was very tough and very greasy. Corn and beans tasted like they came straight out of the can. Def not home cooked meal. Or not at mine at least
