Fort Stevens State Park

Beware of mosquitos!!! The beach and shipwreck are amazing, the campground is beautiful, the facilities are top-​notch, but it is nearly impossible to enjoy any of that. The mosquitos are enormous and relentless night and day. A real health hazard!!!

This was my first time stopping here before I headed home. Went to the beach with the shipwreck and it was AMAZING! Can’t believe after all the times I have driven by this place I haven’t stopped. It’s now my go to spot on the beach. Can’t wait for summer so I can camp too!

Very fun! Nice beach with a cool shipwreck. The first were really cool! You can walk into all of the buildings & get high up to see gorgeous views of the beach! Camping seemed nice! I was only there for one night on a road trip. Very friendly park rangers & a nice well kept place! Fun for all ages!

I camped here in September 2014 and am now back in January 2015. They have reduced the number of loops that are open and designated some as reserved and others for walk in. Great spots with plenty of space between the sites and nice level pads. I just wanted to let people know about the showers. If you didn’t bring your entire house on wheels and intended to use the showers, like me, then no matter in what loop you camp be sure to use the I loop showers. They are the only ones heated this time of year, though all have hot water. The I loop showers are wonderful spacious tiled showers with great hot water to melt away your stress.

My husband and me traveled all the way to Oregon from CA. It’s a long 13 hours drive. Was it worth it? Yes, Oregon for all i know or known for a good campground, but Forth Steven is one of the best. My husband called the place and they are fully packed, i don’t blame them, since it’ s labor day monday, so we expect that their’s no vacancy. Went their Monday, 3 hours drive from Beaverton, Oregon. Woooh, i did not expect how huge the place and that we couldn’t pick a good spot. It’s a 500+ camping spot. We drove around and went back for registration. The people their are nice and very accomodating. Their campground have several options, bring your own tent, camping trailer, if you don’t have one, they have yurts and cabin. Water and electrical sources are just within your camping spot. You don’t share with others. Rest room and shower room are clean and the water is so warm.
I highly recommend these campground. Don’t forget to bring your bike. The lake is just around and the shipwreck is a one nice view at the ocean. Ohh, better buy the wood outside the campground, look for some houses that are selling woods. Ours for $ 10, we used it for two days and we still have extras to take home, splint and paper were provided for free.

I stayed one night with my family of four in a deluxe cabin at Fort Stevens State Park. I made our reservation online through the Oregon State Parks website (which uses Reserve America), and the entire reservation process was very easy. At $ 97 for one night after all fees, we found the value to be exceptional.
The staff at the registration office were very friendly and helpful. Our cabin was clean and comfortable with useful amenities like a fridge, microwave, shower, toilet, kitchen sink, indoor and outdoor tables, heat, lights, and electrical outlets to charge our various devices (phones, kindles, Nintendo DSs). We felt that we had a good amount of privacy from other cabin-​campers.
As for the park itself, the campsite was a short drive from the beach and the remnants of an old shipwreck, the «Peter Iredale.» We could also drive to and walk around a former military fort called Battery Russell. There was a great long paved trail through the park that was perfect for my 5-​mile morning run.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to «glamp» on the north Oregon Coast. You get woods, beach, and a slice of history.

500 sites and full tonight. It’s 9:30 and kids are still wandering around but it’s starting to quiet. There’s just two of us and we are staying only one night. Bathrooms are great and the showers look good too. Nice place to walk and many people, who look like they usually don’t bike, are biking around and around. Beach is awesome. I would stay again. Putting in my ear plugs and will sleep well tonight.
Update; we slept great! This place is terrific! One exception: The hippy couple across the street were burning a wet huge log and created tons of noxious smoke that filled the area. What were you thinking? The log had moss on it– should have been your first clue! Next time be a good neighbor and buy wood from the volunteers or stay some place else.

What a great campground!!! Nice hot showers, quiet and if you can at all possibly swing it, we stayed in one of their new delux cabins and it was FFFAAANNNNTASTIC!

Nice park, good facilities, friendly staff. Will be back!
