Kliebert’s Turtle And Alligator Farm

Absolutely loved Kleibert’s. It was the highlight of our trip. They went above and beyond for our two year old and we learned so much. We went off season but we still had a great time and saw a lot of animals. The people are so great here. Definitely recommend

An adventure into the rare bayou alligator world! We had a unique experience of the alligator farm and the alligator processing room… Mr Richards and T-​Mike were great guides!
Today we found ourselves in Hammond Lousiana… To the best of our knowledge the only and really interesting attraction is the Klieberts Alligator Farm! We really had no idea what to expect. Of course we love that! A 45min-​1 hour tour turned into a 5 hour stop hanging out with T-​Mike the great grandson of the original founder of the farm and he is now the costar of the TV show «Swamp People» we enjoyed the tour about turtles alligators crockadiles goats parrots snakes raccoons and a few animals we can’t pronounce! The tour was a contrast of large and small alligators accompanied by stories about the history of the farm and interesting details about alligators. If you don’t think this is the real deal… The guide Mr Richard is actually missing his fingers on one hand from a alligator bite almost a year ago to the day. Overall… The friendliness, knowledge, chance to see alligators, and the additional private tour of the processing room was an enjoyable event here in bayou country! The southern Cajun hospitality is always enjoyed and appreciated!
In our opinion… The tour is rustic and not the standard big business style attraction. Expect everything alligator from alligator meat you can take home to the heads and teeth you can purchase too!
And for the travelers out there… They have a great wifi connection for customers!!!

This was the best thing I have done while visiting Louisiana. I would highly suggest visiting this place before doing any swamp tour. You get to interact with the animals. The tour guild was so knowledgable and made it fun. The best part was be able to wrestle an gator. (the mouth was taped shut) He showed us step by step on what to do. This was by far the best tour I’ve done in the state.

Loved this tour. Great fun and professionalism. Gators were giving us a good show. They were also having a benefit for Someone who had been hit by a drunken driver and had BBQ benefit and blood drive. Was fun to be part of that.

First off let me say I’m not a reptile friendly kind of girl but my grandfather wanted to come here since he watches Swamp People… I obliged… We didn’t go on a tour thats where I draw the line!!! But grandad was just as content taking a picture with Mike and checking out the baby gators on display inside. Thanks guys!

Educational, entertaining, funny guys. For all the family. We liked it a lot and better than the swamp airboat tour because we were very close to the alligators and have seen a lllllllot of them in all sizes.

Never been to an alligator farm before? Than check theses guys out! Awesome! Super friendly and years of knowledge and history.

Went «off season» the animals seem ok but their cages are filthy.
Maybe save this field trip for regular season.

«Close encounter with baby alligators, small alligators, GIGANTIC alligators and other swamp animals». I have been here a couple times and each time was a better experience than the last. All I have to say is that it is a very authentic Louisiana experience, if that is what you are looking for as a local or visitor. It is great for all ages, too! Things to bring (especially for a hot day): sunblock, bug spray and a hat. Since this is a walking tour, you will be warned to watch your step & where you sit — watching for ant mounds and cautious of fire ants. During my last visit, there was a small alligator loose (with tape around his mouth) in the store/​cashiering area… we thought he was friendly, but my husband approached him and he lunged at him, so HEED CAUTION! The indoor area has some animals that you can go pet, souvenirs and a picture of «Big Mike» on the largest alligator in the farm.
The tour guides here are amazing… so hands on! Being from California, I always tell my husband that they would never allow us to get this close to alligators or any wild animals like they do at this place. As soon as you walk out, you will be lead to an enormous turtle pond… that’s all I am going to tell you about that… you will need to experience it for yourself. Then you will be along your way to the see the alligators… I am not going to give much away about the rest of the tour to leave room for imagination until you actually come to visit.
Next time you are looking for a place to take the kids, some out-​of-​town guests or even an adventurous date/​first date… this is the place to come! I love this more than any swamp tour I have been on in Louisiana. One more thing… looking for a unique place to have your child’s next birthday party… have it here… they do birthday parties, too! I definitely suggest this for kids parties 6years+.

I LOVE this place. I’ve only been once, but i love that they are so kid friendly. It was hard finding something that the whole family can enjoy, especially if it involves a 2 year old. My 2 year old niece was well entertained by this tour. my niece is a fidgety one, so it was nice to be able to walk around, and let her blow some steam off walking from one part to another. They also let all the little kids into their family pig pen and let the kids pet the pig. My niece LOVED it. We all got to HOLD A BABY ALLIGATOR. I got to SIT ON AN ALLIGATOR. This place is part zoo, part farm. So you do feel bad that they are in captivity, but setting them free isn’t the answer either. The tour guides are funny, love what they do, and love to share their knowledge with you. They’re pretty lax about start and end time of the tour, but usually start on the hour. It depends on the group you have. If you don’t have a lot of questions, then it’ll be shorter.
