Honestly the best burger I have had in years. I eat a lot of hamburgers. Probably more than I should. For the record, I don’t care for most fast food burgers and won’t touch anything from McDonalds. Small pub-burgers are okay, and Steak N Shake has it’s place. But Scooter’s burgers are amazing. Very simply, good beef obviously fresh grilled on a flat top(as opposed to flame broiled). Pretty flat, with that crispy edge(similar to Steak N Shake). My suspicion that they have a higher ground-beef fat content than SNS though. It was much better. I get my burgers with raw onion and Bacon so I can really get the flavor of a burger. This one was truly great. Again, best I’ve had in years and I’ve been to places all over IL and WI. The onion rings were good, well done as I like them, super crispy and clearly breaded not battered. Don’t care for large thick battered onion rings. Fries are crinkle cut and I know some people really like that. The custard/soft serve was also excellent, awesome for a small town ma-and-pop joint like this. Honestly, if you’re anywhere in the area it’s worth the detour.

One word… awesome!!! For years and years this is the staple food we ate for planting and harvest season. The ice cream is great and the food is wonderful for a small town stand. You cant beat this place. A great place representing small town America!

The Absolute best place to get a burger in Central Illinois. Discovered by my grandfather on one of his many trips to Tanger Outlets, he stopped here and the rest is history. We are now good friends with the owner Harold who will always sit down and share a laugh with you. Also with a rotating menu of ice cream flavors and incredibly low prices what is not to love about this true small town treasure.
