History

Established in 1951.

Reverend Grace Free founded Unity Church of Christ on September 28,1951 and served as the Minister for 47 years. Reverend Free was a beloved friend and spiritual teacher to many and served in numerous areas of the community, including Community Hospital. She made her transition in December 1998.

Reverend Geraldine Colvin began serving as Minister in June 2000 and is the current Minister. We are now Unity of Northwest Indiana and we were one of 10 Unity Churches chosen for the Transformation Experience Pilot Program, which we successfully completed in 2012. We are a very active community, offering classes, workshops, ceremonies (weddings, baptisms, funerals/​memorials), special events, youth and family ministry, and community outreach. All are welcome!
