They’re there for every question you need answered… every boost of motivation when challenges arise… and to instill in you the wisdom that’s been passed down through martial arts for thousands of years. On the surface, our Atco martial arts program might seem like learning how to defend yourself and your loved ones. In truth, martial arts is so much more. Through the effort, dedication, and practice you put into every class… … every are of your life will see improvement. Business Owner
In 1983, Chief Master Scott Yates began his martial arts training. He earned his first Black Belt certification at 17 and continued his Black Belt Leadership training. For nearly 28 years, CM Yates has been fully devoted to achieving constant progress in the Korean martial arts of Tae Kwon Do and Sin Moo Hapkido, as well as learning many other martial arts.
CM Yates was a member of the United States Hapkido Team in 1999 and 2002, winning a gold medal at the 1999 World Hapkido Games in Mok Phở, South Korea. In 2005, CM Yates tested for 4th Degree Masters rank in Tae Kwon Do under Grand Master Ken MacKenzie. The USA Action Martial Arts Hall of Fame recognized CM Yates as «2008 Master of the Year». CM Yates traveled to South Korea in 2010, was tested and certified to 9th Degree Black Belt, making him the youngest person ever internationally certified at that rank in Sin Moo Hapkido, under the instruction of the founder, Ji Han Jae.
