Enjoyed this «Sushi Gem» today! Well, I’m not the sushi eater, my husband is, he really liked his sushi picks. The choices for non-​sushi eaters were awesome as well. I had some veggie tempura as an appetizer, and the Chicken Lo Mein as my main course, so good with big servings! Our waitress (Tracy) was very nice and attentive. Lovely, clean, kid friendly restaurant. I even liked the music they had playing, some Bee Gee’s and Blondie! Oh, they also had some good specials like the $ 2 domestic beers (on Sunday) and buy one get one free sushi rolls. We enjoyed ourselves, and will be back!

Coming from California, it’s been hard for me to find a place I finally approve of … But sushi gem has Amazing fresh sushi!!! buy one get one deal is there to stay! Can’t beat that ! Dinner for two turns out to be about 30 to 35 $ if you both fill up on 4 rolls total like we do. (not including drinks) the 20 minuete drive from home for us it worth it for this sushi.

Sushi Gem has really come in to its own. I always worry about large menus but the chefs have gotten the wide variety of food down. It took me a while to order anything other than sushi because the sushi is BOGO everyday but I was very impressed with their Drunken Noodles on the Thai side. Sushi Gem is also open on holidays too.

Wow! It’s superbowl Sunday today n every place we went to was not open… Everything happens for a reason… this place is awesome! We found it on Unilocal and I have to rate it! Our blood Mary’s were the bomb. Ordered spicy n they were perfect. My husband n I split the Chicken Pad Thai n some specialty rolls… I don’t think you go could go wrong with any choice here. The atmosphere is clean, current, and modern. Bar tender is eye candy for any single gals. totally recommend this place to anyone traveling thru or living local! Prices on Sunday you can’t beat!

I thought Sushi X was really good right at first. It subsequently fell to pieces. There was an obvious, painful decline in both food and service. Sushi Gem is indeed under new management. I have only had takeout but it was far superior to the 2nd Sushi X. Different owners, chef, and management. The food is fresh and well-​prepared. Obviously someone in the kitchen gives a damn. I won’t go into details but had to post to show my satisfaction and support. It’s good and I’m glad it here. Well done. Definitely recommend.

The sushi gem is a new found gem. Service is good, food is good and the place does not smell fishy. The new owners seem to be trying to get it back to the original place. Keep up the great work. We return again.

Family and I had dinner here the other evening. Same atmosphere as previous ownership. Not a bad thing. The food and service was good. Overall we decided we would continue to eat here.
The sushi was well prepared and tasted good. My son ordered the sesame chicken which was very tasty. We also ordered the bang bang shrimp as an appetizer which was also good.
The buy one roll get one free is a pretty good deal. They also provide a military discount on kitchen items.

The sushi was good. Huge selection of specialty rolls, as well as many other menu items. They have a huge bar (but we don’t do that; just worth the mention).
Sushi was very fresh. Service was good, and it wasn’t a long wait. Ambiance and décor were nice! Spacious layout. Four stars only because the rolls are $ 1 – 2 more expensive than comparable rolls at other places, BUT! The buy-​one-​get-​one free makes it an incredible deal! Worth the trip!

Delicious sushi! And did I mention buy 1 roll get 1 free?! Service is always fast and friendly. Almost all of their portions are gigantic and enough to feed a family. Well be back again and again!

Took a chance after hearing that this formally great, and most recently crappy place has reopened under brand new management. Well glad I did ! Much larger menu, everything tasted and looked super fresh, and service was top notch. Now mind you it was slow, and I believe because the damage the previous owners created, will take some time to reverse itself. I recommend everyone to retry this GEM !!

Hampstead you need to give this place another try! New owners and food is back to top notch. The Tai Basil Duck was outstanding. The portion was huge, with plenty of tender juicy duck. Honestly better than ever!
