Applecrest Farm Orchards

The Farm looks authentic and there are plenty of vegetables and organic food, but be prepared to shell out $$$$.
DO NOT go there for their «BISTRO»!! I went there for brunch the other day and ordered the Spinach Florentine (the only semi-«normal» thing on their menu– Duck eggs?! come on!!). The were out — No eggs left for brunch on a Sunday — really? So the only only other item that didn’t involve duck eggs or heavy carbs was the «Farm Fresh Salad.» OK, fine. I’ll be healthy, it’s brunch, I’m sure it’s a nice big brunchy salad with lots of vegetables. Nope. It was literally a handful of mixed lettuce and 4 croutons — for $ 7. No tomatoes, onions — or any other vegetable — and for $ 7!!! I will never go back there for a meal.

This is a great spot with some farm to table food. A lot of gluten, but I can usually find something on the menu. At lunch I often get the chicken lettuce wraps– they are delicious. A large selection of hard ciders, which you don’t see often in restaurants. Yipee! I always enjoy shopping in their farm store afterwards. The Harvest festival was a blast. We went there a few times and loved the bluegrass music. Very much recommend this place!

So disappointed with the changes at Applecrest. If I wanted to go to a fancy, overpriced grocery store, I would go to Whole Foods. I miss the charm of the old Applecrest and the renovations make the whole place feel pretentious. Also, the staff was pretty rude when we asked if they had a certain type of apple that they don’t grow. Also, the line for cider donuts was at least an hour long. I’m sure that people who haven’t been going to Applecrest for 20 years love the way it looks now, but for me, it’s a sad day. Next fall, I won’t be back, I need to find another place to feel all my Fall feels.

We had a very unpleasant time at this orchard picking apples. We were yelled at like animals by multiple employees, lectured on how to pick fruit, and publicly berated by condescending staff. And $ 20 for a tiny bag of about 10 apples is ridiculous. Feels like this place is run by ruthless penny-​pinchers. I recommend going to a different pick-​your-​own orchard.

Had a great time here! Stopped by over the weekend, and it was pretty crowded. However, they have a lot of fun stuff to do. Delicious cider donuts and hot mulled apple cider were our favorites. They also had pumpkin and apple picking, live music, and a petting zoo for kids. Would stop by again in the fall!

Disappointed I can bring my dog but can’t eat. But there are messy, screaming children allowed to sit and eat. My dog, unlike most of those dirty, misbehaved children, will sit quietly. Perhaps accommodating for those who do come with dogs to slow enjoy a meal here would make more sense. And I’m not talking about the hot dogs and hamburgers in lunch line style.

Took the family for our annual fall apple picking outing. Place was beautiful. Bit pricy, but the staff was friendly and the apples were ripe. After our day in the orchard, we headed down the street and walked the beach for a bit. Only in New England.

I loved the tracker ride to the pick your own apples. The selection today wasn’t spectacular but that’s to be expected by Oct. and the price was a bit higher than what I normally pay for PYO ($ 20 for a small bag). The shop had a great variety of already picked apples and delicious foods. They also had live music which I thought was a nice touch.
The cider donuts ($ 7 for a dozen) were absolutely delicious! They need a better system for their hot cider though-​sits outside the small cider donut booth in one of those large plastic containers and it wasn’t very hot by the time we got some because it had been sitting out since the morning and people were asking for refunds.
All in all I really enjoyed this place and I’m glad I ventured out of MA for a different apple orchard experience.

I live in South Carolina (originally from Maryland) and am really missing true fall weather and apple orchards. On a trip to New England, we had the chance to visit Applecrest orchards. Applecrest steps it up a notch with their welcoming and warm atmosphere, delicious cider donuts, pumpkin patch and warm apple cider! It was a perfect start to Autumn and the holiday season!

Prices were a little high for both the apples & raspberries. Have the best cider donuts around.

We have been going to Apple Crest Farms for over 15 years, but this year will be the last. It went from a great family farm to a Whole Foods with an orchard. It’s just sooooo gentrified. I wish them nothing but success, but I won’t be a part of it.

Apple Farm Orchards is a huge market attached to the bistro selling everything from New Hampshire maple syrup which I heard was even better than the Vermont counterparts, to peach ciders, and fresh fruit including the wild Maine blueberries and their own farm grown fruits.
I believe you can even do your own u-​pick of seasonal fruits. Call to confirm though. We stocked up on our food items to bring back for ourselves and family.

Based off of my two visits. I was very impressed! The place is very clean. The bistro is fantastic. I recommend the BLT. The cider donuts are the best in NH. The farmers market is huge! Overall a great experience. Can’t wait till the fall to do my apple and pumpkin picking.

Came back to Applecrest four years later and the place is still great! Best cider donuts in NH and still a great stock of gifts to bring back home.
They are clearly doing a major renovation/​expansion effort. Glad to see they’re still km business and doing well, but it’s definitely becoming a larger operation. Still has lots of charm.

It was not in my plans to drive from Maine to New Hampshire, but I am so glad I decided to take a detour. I was able to make it just before their last day of their festival. Applecrest farm was decorated for the fall season with pumpkin and gourds everywhere. Once you get closer to the orchard there is a scent of apples everywhere. It is no wonder the farm fills the air with perfume of apples they have so many different varieties of apples, ones I had never even heard of. Everyone was so nice and even offered to slice any apple we wanted to taste so I got to taste amazing apples, some sweet, some tart. They also have home made cider, jams and jellies. Great place to visit.

Took my son to Applecrest today, couldn’t of asked for a more beautiful day in October ! Place is big ! Petting Zoo, Hayrides, Face Painting, Pick a Pumpkin, Apple Picking, Food & Desserts. They also have a Blue Grass Band and Pie Eating Contests for the kids, that was cute to watch !
Family owned, and tons of kids working it. Ran smoothly. Bring cash, as a lot of things are cash only; but they do have one ATM in case you forget.

If it’s a nice day bring the family for some fun, but it can end up being a pricy day.

We have been going to Applecrest for a few years now, typically for our traditional apple picking trip. It’s a huge place, with big orchards growing many different PYO fruits, such as apples, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and pumpkins. They have a creamery, a large farm stand an inside market, and weekend festivals with hayrides and a petting zoo for the kids.
Parking is free and plentiful.
On our most recent visit, a week ago, we realized they were under construction which meant there was a lot of extra mud and gravel to walk through that isn’t typically there. I didn’t think they did a great job blocking off the contruction area either.
We hopped a trailer being pulled by a tractor to our orchard, which was pretty far off. You CANNOT walk to the orchard, you MUST take the tractor ride. Once in the orchard, you can buy a bag for a bushel ($ 30) or a peck ($ 20), and once you fill your bag, you get back on the tractor which will take you back to the main buildings. Note: don’t sit directly behind the tractor or you’ll be eating the exhaust your entire ride.
Hayrides on wagon pulled by large horses looked fun, but I wasn’t about to pay $ 15 for my family of 3 to ride. I thought that was a bit excessive. The petting zoo was $ 1 per person and another $ 2 for a decent sized bag of food. We were there earlier in the day and the animals were very active and interested in eating. My toddler loved the animals and had decent access to them.
We got our dozen apple cider donuts to go, and drank the cider (which is not pasturized and I wouldn’t recommend giving to small children). We ate lunch of clam chowder, butternut bisque and burgers and sausages on the grill. We got their own homemade ice cream in a waffle cone before leaving.
The bluegrass band they had playing was great and there were many people who had brought their own chairs to set up and listen to the band.
Applecrest has us coming back year after year so they must be doing something right. I do think they’re a little on the high side for prices, and if they go up we will probably find another place to go for our annual apple picking. There are many orchards around.

We have been going to Parlee Farms near our home for quite sometime but they have been getting really really crowded that the types of apples we like (mainly Macs) are typically SOLD OUT early. So I’ve been avoiding the place for apples in past years.
I did some research and found this treasure in New Hampshire… (come to find out my extended family goes there too)
Bring your camera… they have some lovely pumpkins, huge gourds, corn stalks, etc. Stations to take pictures… lovely farm areas… This is New England, folks!
My wife liked the apple cider donuts. Not the best we ever had but much better than Dunkin Donuts. I thought it was good but not really a donut guy. LOL! The apple cider is NOT PASTEURIZED so we skipped it.
Wow — what a huge market area with every type of fresh veggie, baked goods, frozen pies, jellys, etc. We picked up some huge corn for dinner tonight (67 cents an ear)
The apples were HUGE… we came home and were ready to make apple pies and needed less apples than expected. The trees are big and sturdy too!
20 peck /​30 ½ bushel which I think is reasonable… Parlee was 28 last year
The only NEGATIVE I would say is that there was no hay ride when we arrived and I emailed the staff days in advance and they never got back to me. We left at 10am and saw the hay rides running at another part of the farm. Not sure where they are hiding the farm animals either. The place looks like its under construction. I really really can’t ding them on this as we had to leave by 10 and didn’t have time. I would say give yourself 1.5 to 2 hours here.
We will be back when we have more time and make a day in the area…
TIP: If coming from Hampton (I95) don’t pull in the first entrance… its just a field for parking… go to the main entrance
TIP: Go EARLY but NOT too EARLY if you want hayride.

Such a phenomenal place to have in the community.
Fresh picking, harvest festivals, hay rides, petting zoos, this is a great place to spend an afternoon at, regardless of what age.
Also, the BEST ice-​cream in town — freshly made down the road, and mixed with their own fruit! Set your timer to count down to the Ginger ice-​cream in the Fall, it is SO worth it! All the flavours are delicious. REAL fruit in the strawberry ice cream, and decadent and thick Chocolate, the mint is a great option for that second scoop to ANY flavour on the board, I could go on. Look out for Seasonal specials like Ginger, Pumpkin and Black Raspberry, and don’t forget to get it in a made-​before-​your-​very-​eyes, warm & maple-​y delicious waffle cone!
I try to make the Creamery’s winter hours at least once a month (I wish they would extend them), and in the summer, I’m probably there every 4^th day.
The pies are fresh and delicious; apple takes the… pie…and peach and strawberry-​rhubarb a tied at second. The Apple Cider donuts are so popular they need to be quartered when I take them in to work so that everyone can get some. You can call ahead and they’ll bake some fresh for you in the morning and have them ready to pick up (they have run out on other occasion, I dare not take any chances with these)
Freshly squeezed orange juice is a must to take home in gallon jugs for the weekend. And the assortment of jams /​chutneys/​salsas/​sauces make for great presents or grill accompaniments. I always buy my honey there too (locally made in Rye, and the flavourful «Late Summer» variety)
I have never tried the frozen pies /​entrees /​breads, but intend to soon.
Produce is a little more expensive than the neighbourhood grocery store, but Farm Fresh and Local make it worthwhile. Although, if you track their growing season online, you can guarantee the crop of the week will be at a better rate. They have the best apples I have had on the Seacoast, and will recommend the species of the produce depending on how you plan to cook it. Everyone there takes great pride in their farm and is happy to help you.
They have a «vintage» store sections now, stocking retro furniture to office décor to cutlery. While a little bit pricey, every once in a while you’ll find a unique must-​have item that fell right out of the thrift heavens.
I would make it a point to bring my visitors here. Everyone in the area should check them out and help out your local Farm, especially when you can pet a Llama and eat delicious ice cream while doing it!

Came here during peak season for picking apples on a Sunday and it was packed, it looked like there were a lot of options for kids including a petting zoo, pony rides, pick your own pumpkins, pick your own berries, and face painting.
I went with the pick your own apples with a peck bag total cost-​$ 20; riding on the hayride was fun and the demo by the guy in the orchard showing consumers how to pick apples properly so they wouldn’t damage next years crop and showing how the map works.
Really good varieties and some of the best apples. They were also selling pies, donuts, cider etc that looked really good.
