Family owned and operated Motel featuring large private balconies overlooking Hampton Beach, NH. We have 12 Oceanfront rooms with refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, some kitchenettes. All rooms include Flatscreen HDTV w/​DVD. We offer several 2-​bedroom apartments w/​full kitchen sleep up to six. Free Parking, Large yard w/​PicnicTables and Gas Grill, Swimming Pool, Family Recreation Area.

History

Established in 1920.

Family owned and operated by Richard and Anne Pouliot and Family since 1994. Presently managed by Rick Pouliot, who strives to maintain the charming look of the old building, as well as tend to the many guests that return each summer. The building was completed in 1800 has three chimneys and stone surround foundation. The Windjammer was formally called The Barn Motel, and before that The Leavitt Homestead. The Windjammer By The Sea presently sits high above Ocean Blvd. on the same atlantic ledge upon which she was built over 200 years ago.

I showed up during the busy season on a Saturday and was able to get a quaint little room with a shard bathroom for $ 125. This is a family run old New England hotel that is packed with charm and in a great location. I had my 4 year old with me and it was just far enough from the craziness of Hampton Beach that we could sleep soundly but still be near all the action. Also, the beach is just right across the street so you do not have to go into town to get wet.

The Windjammer is clean and the management is friendly and very accommodating! The location is as good as it gets, right across from the ocean. The rooms with balconies have awesome views! Prices are very reasonable as well.

Had to stay at the windjammer in the middle of the winter on an emergent basis when our boiler gave out. Called at 1100pm and the owner Rick was courteous and accommodating. He and his staff prepared three rooms very quickly. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Obviously this hotel is built to service the summer tourist season, but it’s a testament to their commitment to excellent service that they were able to accommodate my family on such short notice. Though we stayed here under stressful circumstances, we couldn’t have had a better time. Thanks to the windjammer and their staff, I would highly recommend this hotel.
