Achea Gist (Kia) is a native Detroit girl who grew up with a passion for great food and entertaining. The event planner and chef is always looking for new ways to satisfy not only her curious palette, but also her love of the history of the city she calls home. The owner of Ke Event Designs, a full service event planning company, strives to create event designs that brings your vision to life by producing a variety of events like themed vignettes, corporate meetings, wedding planning, and private special events. Working with Poetry House Entertainment with planning for the Poetically Speaking series has been very rewarding and fulfilling.

Kia is versatile and can surely ‘Rise to the Occasion’. She has an Associate of Applied Sciences in Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management, and was a food & beverage blogger for Detroit Girls About Town Magazine site.
