We stopped into Hana Coast Gallery as recommended by a AAA magazine article and were very fortunate to meet Alecia. She was very professional and accommodating. The gallery has so much to see and such beautiful local artwork. Wish I can buy it all. We purchased a Robert Lyn Nelson piece and had never heard of him before. Alecia was kind enough to educate us on his history and even showed us his portfolio. I love that they have something for everyone here from stationary and pens to furniture and artwork. Don’t come to Hana to just turn back. Make sure you stop into town, explore, eat, shop, and sink your toes into the sand.

I was fortunate to meet Karen Davidson this past week while I was visiting Hana. She has an amazing personal art studio. Her work is extraordinary and her knowledge of local culture and history will compliment your visit to Maui. This was an excellent stop to make on the road out of Hana to Haleakala.

Frankly… if you are there for a couple days, you will end up enjoying this little place. Cute representation of local art and culture. I just realized how much this sounded like the other review and got creeped out and wonder if I should review a place I am somewhat ambivalent about… I want to help the locals, but don’t know what else to say… great place. Freakin… GOTOHANA. I think that is what I am saying. I am nostalgic… I want to get away and I am walking down memory lane. Hope to get back there… if you find yourself in here, you are having the time of your life.

The gallery has great arts and crafts featuring local artists and more cultural pieces. It’s not very big, but it makes for a nice pre-dinner activity or a temporary shelter from the misty rain.
