I’m a first-time Dosha Salon and Spa customer(I have been to the Aveda Institute though which I believe is affiliated where beauty school students do the work). I received a gift certificate to Dosha for a Recovery Facial on the occasion of my birthday. With this cold dry weather and an exhaustive line of work, I’ve been looking forward to some much needed skin care and me-time. So far, I’m not pleased. There have been two scheduling issues and as of tonight, I’ve still not been seen for my appointment. I initially scheduled an appointment over the telephone with Dosha Clackamas, 14 days in advance, for a Recovery Facial. They called me the next day to reschedule due to what they explained was a «scheduling conflict.» I rescheduled for a Monday evening instead of a Saturday afternoon, hoping to avoid rush hour scheduling issues interfering with my me-time. I arrived at 5:50pm this evening, 10 minutes prior to my 6pm appointment. It did not appear to be a busy night; from the waiting area, I could only see 3 staff people and 1 customer getting her hair done. The front desk receptionist was friendly and offered me water and tea after checking in. After delaying utter boredom on my phone until 6:30pm, without anyone checking on me or giving me an update on when I’d be seen for my facial, I went to the front desk to reschedule for a different location, since I had been waiting an inordinate amount of time. Over 40 minutes in all, and 30 minutes past my appointment time. Again, the front desk receptionist was polite and scheduled me for Dosha Hawthorne 5 days from today. She apologetically offered a 15% discount on my next appointment for my inconvenience. Not sure that’s helpful considering I was going to use the gift certificate, though. I’m just hoping Dosha Hawthorne is a bit more professional regarding punctuality than Dosha Clackamas. I’m not exactly feeling relaxed right now which is what should be happening after leaving a spa. Third time is a charm, right?

I did not ask for Black hair color! Dosha charges too much for the level of service they are able to provide. I visited a Dosha location in Clackamas Town Center. Scheduled an appointment for all over hair color with an experienced stylist. When I met Trenda and said what I wanted, match my natural color and keep the color warm, felt good. She spoke like she was knowledgeable, said she had clients with my same hair type, recommended a color that I questioned looked dark, but assured me it was not going to be dark as her hair color. After processing and drying, my hair looked VERY dark. Left with frizzy black hair and the thought that I needed to get use to a darker hair color, had been a warm red brown. The next day, after me styling, and many comments about my black hair, the truth was evident. My hair was black! I called Dosha, was notified there are no refunds, I could scheduled to meet again with Trenda, for a fix. I made appointment, which was a week later, first available for Trenda, not for me. When I met with Trenda again, my hair was as dark as hers, black! Only options she offered was to strip my hair color, or do highlights. These were neither of the services I asked for or paid for. Nor was the color of my hair what i asked for! Stripping hair is drying and harmful, I didn’t ask for highlights, or stripping. I expected to have hair color that was the similar to my natural color, brown, with some warmth. Black is a cool color that is not my natural color!!! I could have taken the same chance on color by buying a box or going to a beauty school. Waiting and washing out is not what I paid for nor asked for, nor expected. I will not be back to this establishment. Dosha is overpriced and under educated for the prices they charge!

I submitted an online appointment request and received an e-mail response stating they were reviewing and would get back with me. I never heard from anyone to confirm my request so I called to make my appointment. Fortunately, I was able to get an appointment the next morning. I arrived early for my appointment the next morning doors were locked and the lights were off. My appointment time came and still no lights or unlocked door. 10 minutes after my appointment time we had lights and an unlocked door. 20 minutes later(30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time) I was finally seated. My wife also attempted to make an online appointment. She received a confirmation of her appointment for the requested date and time. Despite having an e-mail confirming the date and time, Dosha attempted to confirm her appointment for the wrong date and they were unable to fit her in at the requested time. This was not a huge issue since they found a spot for her on the date requested. However, I am not sure I will be using their online system anytime soon as based on my experience it appears as though they have some issues to work correct.

I booked a cut and color, they didn’t ask for any other info so I didn’t think I needed to specify what kind of color. I am a new mom of a 3 month old and also have a busy 2 year old. I am heading back to work and wanted to spruce up my hair so I felt less sleep deprived and frumpy looking. It is a big deal for me to get to a salon and have someone watch my kids. When I got there and told them what I wanted they said they did not have enough time. So instead I paid way to much for a sub par«trim». The stylist did not even seem to care that this was a huge disappointment to me.

I was recently in this location for a shellac manicure and bikini wax, booked with the same aesthetician. She was very nice and meant well in her services but the results were just not up to par with the price Dosha charges. My manicure looks like I did it at home. Typically I would let this slide without complaint but for the price I paid and the fact that I’m doing all this in prep for a vacation, I really wanted things to look as nice as possible. The nail work stations, the floor and the window sills were FILTHY. So much so that I was questioning whether it was safe to get my waxing done there. As my manicure was done, we got to watch 2 gals review how to hold shears which is something clientele should NEVER see. My wax was as painless as it could be and when I was laying down it looked straight but after I got home I noticed the lines were wonky and I’m going to have to try and do some adjustments. The robe I was given for the wax had a draw string that was tangled with a random piece of string, looked very tacky and low class. Again, my aesthetician was welcoming and did her best but for the price this Dosha location is not one I’ll visit again. Mediocre services under the guise of high end pampering. I should have looked at previous reviews before booking here as it would have saved me a lot of time. I’ve already called to get an appointment this afternoon at Hawthorne to redo my manicure. I can only hope it goes better this time.

Nothing special. The girl who cut my hair was a doll and so nice but, I wasn’t impressed by anything. It was seriously over priced. From the skill and technique I saw it was lacking from what I have come to expect from a stylist in that price point. That made paying hurt that much more. Disappointed. That’s the best I can come up with.

I had my good friends hair done for her wedding… the stylist assured us the curls would stay… she said she would say them a lot, she sprayed the hair twice… spent 20 mins total on her hair and within 2 hours the curls were gone… the customer service rep called when I complained that I had to redo her hair on her wedding day which added additional stress to the bride, which I was trying to avoid, making us 30 mins late to start the wedding events, gave my friend a discount on a future service… she won’t be going back there and for the cost of her hair to fall out I wish we had gone somewhere else… seriously disappointed with the customer service and the quality of service

The staff was friendly and nice. I had a good time and felt relaxed while my nails were done, which is the whole reason why I went in. Everything was clean and the tea was hot. Two stars deducted for two reasons: first, it’s only been one day and the shellac is already starting to come off. Second, in all honesty, the manicure itself looks like something I could’ve done had I really, really tried. From far away, it looks great. Up close, the french-tip line is sloppy in spots. My manicurist worked for over an hour and tried their best. I still like how they came out. But when I pay to get my nails done I want them to look fabulous.

been going to Dosha for years! Went in last week after making an appointment over the phone. when i get there, they tell me i will not be able to get my hiarcut because i have my 5 year old with me. i dont remember anyone telling me this when i made the appt. my son had gone in with me two months prior, no problem. he sat there and played video games for the hour and behaved himself. i even asked if he could sit next to me and they turned that down. when i called them after they had told me this rule has been in place for years and that it is on there website, which i did not see when i checked. this is absolute discrimination! basically if you are a single parent you cannot get your haircut? and made to feel bad about this. Espcially at the mall where families go all the time. i understand if this was a full day trip, but not a 45 – 1 hour hair cut! DONTGOHERE!

Terrible service. I felt like I was just being sold to the whole time, they had three different stylist trying to tell me it would be $ 225 just to color my SHORT hair brown! No highlights or anything special just a color. They said it would include a very special conditioning treatment which is NOT what I asked for. And after I told them I wanted to look around for better pricing they were extremely rude and said I would regret my decision. Will never be a Dosha customer again.

If zero stars were possible this store would earn it. In fact it seems that they have relisted themselves in Unilocal under Dosha Clackamas it seems because their Dosha Salon and Spa with the Clackamas address had such crummy reviews. Terribly pretentious staff and surprisingly unknowledgeable of the Aveda product line. I am unsure of the requirements for staffing this salon, and I have heard from hair stylist through the years that Dosha offers a low compensation structure and thus attracts new to the industry stylists. Well, lets just say it shows in their knowledge, personality, willingness to help customers, and ability to recommend the products that may best fit your needs. Perhaps my experience was so unpleasant because I only go in to purchase Aveda and not see a stylist. This salon is sure a convenient pick up location right off the Clackamas mall parking lot, but I will never visit this location again. Truly forget it if you have kids in tow, which I always do. Not a child friendly staff at all. I am still an Aveda products fan yes, but I will choose to patronize a nicer staffed establishment. Found a tiny but fabulous staffed salon just up a few blocks in the shopping complex on SE corner of 122nd& Sunnyside intersection that carried the entire Aveda line. Not as posh in décor but they were super helpful as well as able to listen to my wants and recommend what may work best.

I am very picky with who cuts my hair, I dont let just anyone touch my giant mass of curly hair. I got my hair cut and styled with Ashley, she did such a great job, I was amazed my hair could get so straight! all of the products she used, and the selection of hair products was great. I am definately going to come back again.

I visited Dosha Clackamas last week for a haircut emergency. I had fried the ends of my hair with a flat iron– nothing worse than that *sizzle* sound– and had to cut off the ends at home because it was Christmas and I had zero money left over until next paycheck– but then I was given a gift certificate to Dosha and decided to use that on my hair. I’m so glad I did! I saw Erika, and after explaining my tragic hair events, she got to work right away. I was so impressed by the care she took to make my hair look not only like nothing had ever happened in the first place, but also really cute. I could tell she really cared about the outcome and didn’t rush the process at all, despite it being at the end of the day. Not only was Erika great, but the rest of the staff was fantastic as well. They made sure I was comfortable while I waited(I arrived early) and offered tea and water. I would definitely recommend Erika’s services to anyone looking for a stylist who takes their time to make sure you look good and are happy with the results.

took my mom in for a makeover day for her bday. she wanted a color and cut, which she had a pic of to show stylist… we requested a razor cut but recieved a blunt cut that looked nothing like the pic we showed, she started to run into her next appt. which made front desk people keep approching stylist at her chair which made my mother feel as if she wasnt important, and made her feel uncomfortable… paying for a 200 + service i feel as if there should have been more consultation asking if my mother was happy, next day we had to go fix her haircut so that she had a styled cut…
