Xtreme Toys and Hobby

Stopped in to look at drones a couple weeks before Christmas. I ended up purchasing one for about $ 120 for my dad as a gift. He didn’t fly it until Christmas day obviously and ended up not liking it. Hard to fly and only a 5 minute battery life with a 1.5 hour charging time. Tried to return it just to find out that they don’t accept returns if the box has been opened! The guy who sold me the drone did not inform me of any of this. I understand that they want to make sales, but you should be able to open it up and fly it without voiding the receipt.

I don’t normally write reviews but this one really made me upset enough to write one. I bought my son an rc car for Christmas. Right out of the box something didn’t seem correct, but I figured it was because it was new. After about 10 min it stopped working. The steering work but no forward or reverse. So I brought it in to get check out. The guy said there was not anything he could do, and for me to call the company. He didn’t even take the time to properly check it out. I understand that he only sells the product but he is also a part store so he should have some kind of info on what could be the problem. So getting no help I said why don’t I go get the box and receipt and just return it, which he stated there are no returns. I asked where that was posted, he said on receipt. But guess what I checked my receipt and nope not there. I did take the truck to hobby town and even though they don’t sell that brand they fixed it. Extreme toys is a joke and the gentleman who runs it only wants to sell you something and not stand behind his product. I would suggest if you want rc toys with great support go somewhere else!!!

I bought a remote control truck from this store about 4 years ago. And I recently just went back to buy a replacement part for it. And the guy that was trying to help me has no clue what he is talking about. He ended up putting the part into the truck and the part broke with a the first day. he had put it in wrong. And now he wants to charge me for another part. No wonder he had to move his business is failing because he has not a flippin clue what he is doing. I will no longer go back to this place. And on top of all this he said he called the manufacture and he said it was my fault. Guess why I called the manufacture and they said he had never called them. So on top of everything else he’s a lying sob. I would not recommend going into this guys store. There are a lot of other hobby shops that no a lot more than this idiot. This guy is the biggest dumbass FARD in the world.

Wouldn’t exchange a product that broke that was flown for 4 min out of the box. The guy said that they don’t do returns or exchanges with broke product. I opened the product after trying to return and found it had a bad sauder and that came off. Not to mention I checked for the same product online. Xtreme toys over charged almost $ 30. Will not do business with ever again they can keep their over priced toys.

We bought our boys 2 U828 drones from the store! One of the drones has a motor that won’t work, so i brought it back to the store at their request to be fixed. He said 2 weeks to fix/​replace motor! «Wow really» I said, «no replacement parts in stock» he tells me. My son and i walk out, then my son says «Dad that guy gave you the stink eye when we left» Not having any of that, i went back in to get my product back. He asked me why, I told him i was unhappy with him about the look he gave, then he yelled at me in front of 20 or so other people in the store. His english is so broken, I don’t think he understands it! I have never been treated so badly in a retail setting. The customer is never right in this kind of a place. HIGHLY UNRECOMMENDED STORE. We will be happy to spend our money some place else. And this all happened in front of my 12 yr old and other children.

I’ve been buying from this store for years when it moved into the Clackamas Town center. I purchased the drone for $ 100 and it never flew right. I’ve had many helicopters and can fly, but no go here. I thought no big deal I will just take it back later, but I did not get down there for 4 months — And no return allowed and no store credit. This guy is a moron, because I buy all the time for gifts and love helicopters. Don’t buy from this guy, go to the internet like I just did and ordered one and it flies great first time. Not sure if this guy just wants to go home and watch tv, but can’t imagine he will stay in business for long with that kind of attitude/​policy.

Purchased a helicopter a UDI u12 for Christmas 2013 for my son. He flew it 2 times the first flight was kind rough until he got the trims set. While setting the trims the blades hit the ground a couple times no big deal, Still worked he flew it till the battery died recharged the battery and couldn’t us it the next week or so because of rain. On January 9^th the rain subsided so he went to fly it, It worked just fine. He stopped flying it because he thought it was going to rain again. Keep in mind he only flew it that day for 5 min probably only use ¼ of the battery so he brought it in to see if it was going to rain and set it on the back of a couch chair NOT on the charger. About a couple hours later I was smelling electrical smell looked over and the helicopter was smoking. As I was rushing it outside the battery EXPLODED. Took it into them and all they wanted to really do was sell me a new one or charge me about what we paid for it to repair it. They said that because it was flown they cannot warranty the helicopter .So Is a child suppose to not play with a toy he just got for Christmas and used 2 times? Not fair for children. I will never recommend anyone buys anything from this store. It is all CHINA JUNK !!

We were flat-​out turned away from Remote Control Hobbies in Portland on Halsey before we could even explain what part we were looking for (I was interested in finding a metal pinion gear for a 3 channel/​hobby grade helicopter modification), but they did tell us to try Xtreme Toys in the Clackamas Town Center. So off we went.
The store was quite busy, and we waited patiently (we were in no rush) until they finished with another customer. The most experienced person there was very willing to think outside the box and in between customers (understandably), he thought of a fix.
While we were waiting, we noted that this shop has a good selection of parts and boxed kits as well. Overall, the team was very helpful even though they were quite busy.
I would recommend that one keep in mind that each repair case is unique, and I was pleased to find a place that was willing to take the time to actually listen to what I was asking instead of assuming that they already knew. This place was busy, so don’t be in a rush if you’re going in for anything other than a standard, off-​the-​shelf, boxed purchase.
I will not ever consider going into RC Hobbies again, but Xtreme Toys and Hobby in the Clackamas Town Center Mall has gained my future business for parts and upgrades as well as my recommendations.

My husband and I entered this store to pick up a RC plane part that we had placed an order for over four months ago, which we had paid cash for the item once we placed the order. As the four months had passed, we had come two times before from Tigard to clackamas since we hadn’t heard from them or received any confirmation that our paid for part had come in for us. We went in there this afternoon and waited patiently while the salesman helped another customer and didn’t acknowledge us. After the customers left and we got his attention, I asked him if he had our part and gave him the receipt of purchase as proof. He said he didn’t have it. We asked for a refund since it had been so long and he replied he couldn’t do it and didn’t know how to do a refund. We asked him why this is so and he said that we could come back tomorrow and he wasn’t willing to contact his manager to assist us in this process even after we informed him politely that we have come to check on the order status three times now total. He continued to tell us he couldn’t do it and he didn’t know what to offer us. Although I was considering purchasing a higher end RC car from this establishment suddenly that thought dissipated. I left my receipt on the counter and walked out of the store politely and as I got about 40 feet from the store I thought to myself: «wow I can’t believe I got ripped off for my money and I can’t believe some one would be so willing to accept my cash and so unwilling to give me the product I paid for» I also couldn’t fathom that a store could NOT produce a product in four months and not notify the customer. I would highly recommend never shopping here as is the staff is incredibly rude and incompetent. I recommend Hobby Town USA with great selection and you CAN get a refund and excellent customer service!!!

Broad selection of R/​C and IR heli’s, cars and boats in many scales. They even have parts for toy grade helicopters. Best variety in the city and well staffed. Very helpful and knowledgeable.
