Worst service… the waitress actually looked at us and sighed as we entered. No greeting, just dropped menus on the table and said«drinks». Reuben was only half grilled and meatballs were obviously out of a box and the sandwich was microwaved to the point the bread was too tough to eat. Won’t be back.

The restaurant has some very good food, and plenty to choose from on the menu. I had the crab cakes, and they were excellent. Service was a bit slower than I’d expected. Overall I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.

Visited Gilligans for my grandfather’s 91st birthday and it’s certainly family dining at its best. Everything was delicious and the servers knew how to keep up with our group!

OMG! The prime rib is to die for! The beer was nice and cold and plenty of tv’s to watch a variety of sports. I sat at the bar. The bar staff was fantastic. Very attentive and on the ball. The people were friendly and came from all over the place. You have got to try this place. I guarantee that you will enjoy and return. I know I’ll come back next time in area.

Good beer specials! Appreciated the good friendly service. We also enjoyed the Santorini Bread appetizer & oysters Rockefeller. They also had plenty of TVs for us to watch any game we were looking for… Except only the Blackhawks weren’t on any of the channels out here. Come here for a good casual hang out!

I travel a lot so this place is what I normally look for; good sized menu, good portions, big bar, tv’s, people, service is great(which is why I always sit at the bar; they have no choice! Haa!) They have the place sectioned off great(without feeling secluded in each spot either) so no matter what you are looking for they an accommodate. Was here in town for 2 days and came here both nights!

Myself and 2 colleagues were in the area and stopped by for dinner and drinks on a Friday night. There is NOSMOKING in the building, in either bar section. We were greeted and requested a table in the bar area and were promptly seated. Service was quick, efficient and accurate. All three of us ordered the NY strip steak with various sides. All 3 were cooked to the temperatures we ordered and all of the sides were to our liking. The bar area was nicely laid out with ample seating in view of all sporting events on the TV’s. In addition to a few pool tables with another dedicated bar service area in the back as to not disturb the tabletops in the main bar. When back in the area I would definitely come back to Gilligan’s

Good local place for American food. Tons of screens with different sports and an awesome«juke box» with almost any song you can think of. Food came out fast and although definitely not a four stat restaurant as the snobby traditional ratings go, earns 4 Unilocal stars for an all around great experience.

My husband and I went out for a nice meal. We decided to go to your establishment. We walked in and went to the seating host. He asked us how many. I indicated two. A very rude older employee indicated to me my husband could not be served because he had a dress tank top and khacki shorts. I thought he was kidding. I asked you are kidding right. He said no I am not. We were not offered even to go to your bar this point the other customers were looking at us like we had the plaque. Amazingly the young lady in front of us had half of a skirt on and a spaghetti strap top. she was not turned away. I was embarrassed for my husband, since he has a seizure disorder and was very embarrassed. I reviewed your website and nowhere did we find attire criteria. Shame on you for training your employees to be rude. You have lost a frequent customer for sure.

This was a spontaneous stop and our first time here. Right off the bat, just stepping in to the restaurant, we were greeted by friendly staff, and had we were impressed by the décor. Judy, the bartender, was nice, thorough, and genuinely enjoyed her job. She made great recommendations for lunch. The prime rib sandwich was amazing. My boyfriend NEVER clears his plate, but with this he did. I ordered the personal pizza with side salad. The salad was very fresh and the dressing made in house. Beer selection was awesome and prices reasonable. The entire place was clean, spacious, and laid out nicely. If ever in the area again, we will definitely come back!

This would be a mainstay if we lived in the area. A huge nine page menu from salads and sandwiches to prime rib and the best steaks, long list of seafood, extensive bar(they have Drambuie!) not to mention pool tables, a complete sports bar, bustling waiters, tall and standard eating tables, separate dining room, on and on. Adam was the best, even if he wouldn’t agree to an arranged marriage with my daughter(Adam, you might have truly missed out) and I have two grumbles. The menu lied, the chef’s salad feeds three, not one, but the crab cakes was to die for. Secondly, the manager(?) jumped on us for the water I brought in(we walked, I have a medical condition that requires constant water) and I truly didn’t think she was going to allow me to keep it. Her attitude was the problem, but it ended well.

I was in town for a business trip. We had a large group and we’re looking for something to accommodate us. They have upscale diner food. Carb cakes, prime rib, seafood pasta etc.

Horrible experience. Sat at the bar next to the cash register, got my first beer fine, was asked if I wanted to order food, said in a few minutes. Wrong idea. Finished my first beer, had to flag a bartender and asked for a second. Asked for a menu at the same time. Sat for about twenty minutes waiting patiently. Bartender walked to the cash register five times without looking at me across the counter. Finally asked patiently for a beer(again) and a menu. Waitress came to me five minutes later and I kindly told her I was not ready. Nobody came to me again though she passed me by another five times. After another ten minutes I finally asked for ribs and another beer. Beer never came so I waited another ten minutes and politely asked again. 30 minutes later I politely asked if my ribs were ready and they came in 3 minutes… Cold, obviously forgotten. I ate my cold fatty ribs and asked for another beer, again forgotten. I reminded the bartender and she got it for me. At this point it was three hours. I felt a little bit irritated so I politely described my complaint to someone in white(I assumed a team leader). He told me he was sorry, can he get his manager. I said don’t worry I will try again. I did try again and the waitress a little more responsive. Afterwards I asked for another beer and waited ten more minutes so I reminded the bartender again. I asked the same gentleman in white if he was wiling to buy me a drink for my delay/trouble and he said he would ask his manager. I was then confronted by a waitress who I did not deal with directly and she began to argue with me. I did not know it but her manager was listening nearby. He then confronted me(without responding to the arguing waitress) and began defending her. We walked off to the side and he asked me what my complaint was. I thought finally a voice of reason. No, in fact he wanted to argue with me and defended the waitress(who I was not directly interacting with) and explained that she did her job. I began to argue back and then stopped and suggested he also politely stop. I started again to explain my complaint and he continued to argue. I felt humiliated at this point because others began to watch and listen. I suggested to the manager(again) that I did not want to argue but it was apparent he was more interested in defending his staff than to satisfy a valid customer complaint. Three hours waiting for my food did not seem unreasonable to him because it was busy. Fair enough because the first hour was very busy but it seems though in this place if you seem patient that the staff WILL ignore you even if you sit near the register. Message is, if you want timely service in this place then you need to be aggressive and you need to be willing to argue with the staff ANDTHEMANAGER. Not worth fatty ribs for me.

My husband and I visited this restaurant twice during a recent stay in Harrisburg. Our hotel was across the street so we thought we would give it a try. There ate two parts to this establishment — a busy, smoky bar and the quieter restaurant. We went into the bar on the first visit. Being out-of-towners, we did not realize that it was still legal to smoke in the bars up there. But that did not deter us, so we stayed. The service was so-so despite the fact that we were seated right next to an area where they were congregatng and chatting. The food was pretty good. My husband had a HUGE Italian grinder which he really enjoyed while I opted for the seafood stew which was chock full of shrimp, scallops and chunks of fish. Our second visit was to the restaurant side which was a much more enjoyable atmosphere and more attentive service. On this occasion I had the gyro platter which included a generous portion of meat. It was one of the better gyros I have had. My husband had the fish and chips which he said was okay but felt like the portion was quite small for the price. At the time, he said that he ahould have ordered the gyro! If we are ever up that way again, we would consider returning.

Crazy in this day and age you can smoke at the bar but better yet in the dining area. Cigars and all. Hello central Pennsylvania. Food specials are great and inexpensive, steak porter house night Tuesday with app salid and French onion soup for $ 11. Welcome to CPA. draft beer 1.75 during happy hour. Wish it was like this all over the north east.

Been to Gilligan’s three times and and highly unlikely I will be back again… THEPROS –plenty of parking –friendly and attentive wait staff THECONS –food is subpar and tastes reheated/from frozen –smoking inside a restaurant stinks!!! –no matter where you sit you can breath in the cancer stick fumes and will leave smelling like it too –kinda pricey for such poor execution on the food Overall this place has its regulars and most likely many are ok with how it’s run… they’d have to have an outside smokers section and prepare better food for me to ever return!

Great little find. Décor is up to date and clean. I ordered wings & cheese fries(surprise!) they were both excellent! Friday beer special was a pint of Miller lite for $ 2.25. There are some pricey items on the menu, but being in more of a bar-like atmosphere I just stuck with what I know. There were tons of Tv’s with an assortment of sports on. The only negative I can give is the smoking. Because I live in Florida, I am not used to smoking being allowed in restaurants. They do separate the smoking area, but it doesn’t really make a huge difference as the smell is very strong.

Came here with my car club group, who were all in town for the Chrysler Nationals event at Carlisle Fairgrounds. We had a reservation set, so Gilligan’s was ready for us when we arrived. Very quick service! We all had drinks within 10 min of sitting down. Ordered the Chicken Chesapeake since I was in a mid-atlantic mood… and it was AWESOME! Add that with the great service and great company, well we all enjoyed a good time. Pricing was very reasonable. Just remember with groups of 8 or more, they add the 18% gratuity. I added a few percentage points at the end. I will be back here next year for sure!
