History

Established in 1947.

Started in 1947 by Roscoe and Elinor Hurd. Both grew up in farming families. During WWII they moved to California where Roscoe worked at North American Aviation as a machinist building planes for the war. Upon moving back they bought a lot and building in Harrisburg Oregon and started Hurd’s. Having a couple different titles of the years and at one time 2 locations (1 selling hardware and the other appliances in the early 1960’s) Hurd’s was incorporates in the 1970’s. At this time Glenn (Roscoe and Elinor’s son) and Karen Hurd started purchasing the business. Today long time friend and employee Kevin Grimes along with his wife Jeni and Glenn and Karen’s son Mike continue a 3^rd generation tradition of great customer service.
