These are horrible people!
Same experience as these other people — military move — couldnt watch everyone pack and it was like a pack of drunken monkeys packed our stuff and we are currently battling to get fixed what they destroyed.
Absolutely horrible. These people damaged our things, lied on the forms, took all day to load including a few hour break midday because they had accidentally thrown out the van keys (yes, yes, I am an idiot for letting people who throw van keys in the trash be in charge of all my stuff) they wrote on the forms that all my things were damaged and then flipped through quickly pressuring me to sign saying it was just a list of things. When I saw that a few of my brand new pieces of furniture that they put in the truck without padding were listed as in terrible condition I could have cried. Oh, and thanks for putting a Michael Kors and Fossil purse underneath a printer in a box. And ruining my Dyson vacuum by placing it in a truck next to furniture unprotected. And they left my house filthy. Do not use these people. Ever. I still get teary eyed when I look at the damage they caused. We will still fight you for what you did and please if you use them — they put confusing codes for damages and write up that everything is in shitty condition so they can fuck you over — demand to see what they wrote for the condition of your stuff before signing. I wish I still lived on that side of the country so I could go tell them off in person.
We hope you get shut down before you destroy more belongings of people who serve our country.

THIS IS ONLY A REVIEW OF PREFERRED’S ABILITY TO PACK A BOX, as I’m not actually sure what company did the packing of of boxes onto the United Van Lines truck. So many smaller companies under larger umbrella companies and you never know who you are actually dealing with when you’re doing a military move.
First Military Move.
I didn’t have a choice on movers.
I expect my belonging to be cared for like their own and packed with utmost care.
We had 3 packers. Some obviously cared more than others. If I had someone watching each packer, things would have been packed perfectly. But some stuff was packed very stupidly/​poorly which resulted in loss and damage.
For example, you don’t pack a glass liquid soap dispenser unwrapped and placed in the corner of the box. It will get smooshed and shattered. Straw cowboy hats don’t just get jammed in a box with no support to maintain their shape. They will get damaged and bent out of shape beyond reasonable repair. Two of the same lamp shade should not be squeezed one inside the other to save space in the box, they will come out with pressure rings from the other one.
Then there was the box that was only half packed and the rest was all packing paper. That paper counted toward our total move weight. What if we had been over our allowed move weight? Stupid and wasteful.
And OH SO MANY TIMES the packers asked «Oh you want that packed too?» Ummm, yeah or it wouldn’t be here anymore!
We thought we did a decent job of hawk-​eyeing them, but at the end of the day when they were gone and «everything» was packed, we found a lot of miscellaneous items that needed to be packed the next day still when all that should have been done the second day was the truck packed up.
So though this wasn’t the horrible anxiety inducing experience I know it could have been, it could have also been better. I would, in theory, choose to use this company again and just do things differently on my end, like I have one family member overseeing each packer and stopping them if they did anything stupid.

This is a super great company if you like no strong team leader, and you don’t care about your stuff.
If you don’t mind a team than runs to the truck before you can check you cabinets (why would we want both martini glasses?)
If you want shit shoved in a box, CALL THESE CLOWNS.
Some of their work is «conventionally» good. And some is down right creative. I had a gift bag hanging on my wall, it was from my a gift from my significant other, and the first time he said he loved me (the bag was super cool) so they used it to separate jumbled layers of my high heels that were just thrown into a box. I’m not very Girly but we have some nice things, and I want them to stay nice. Not scuffed and ratty.
I really loved how they left trash of theirs in the house for me, and after packing his plasma tv so very carefully, THEY PUT BOOKS ON TOP OF IT. Which, I’m sure made sense to them. Creativity MUST be a job requirement here. Oh and 80% of the boxes are labeled «Home Décor» so I just to take more time from my crew moving me in and waste my own time fishing thru everything instead of knowing where it goes.
My movers at my destination were constantly baffled and confused by the interesting system these people put in place.
So glad I moved away from these buffoons. Btw You should really pack a «parts, screws and cords» box. Not just throw it In with random stuff.

UPDATE: also my candle holders are broken that go to my wrought iron wall sconce. Wonderful job.
