This building is one of my favorite buildings in the world. Saint Joseph is the patron of this Cathedral Church and of the whole Archdiocese of Hartford. As you probably know, St. Joseph is the husband of Mary, our Blessed Mother and foster father of Jesus Christ. The building is an architectural jewel. The homilies at the Masses are very uplifting and inspirational. This is from the church’s web page«This Cathedral is a prayer book. Each architectural feature is intended to focus the mind on our eternal heritage in Christ and on what we must do to serve Him. We venerate Saint Joseph as the protector of the Universal Church extended both geographically and in time. Use this Cathedral to reflect and to pray with him. Visitors are asked to observe proper decorum, especially in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel wherein the Tabernacle of Our Lord reposes. The building is a modern design incorporating elements of the gothic with byzantine enhancements in the reredos and other mosaic work. Designed by Eggers and Higgins of New York and built by the George A. Fuller Company also of New York, the building stands 281 feet high from the sidewalk. The stainless steel cross at the spire is 25 feet high. The Cathedral is 284 feet long from north to south and 156 feet wide from east to west.» They have an incredible music ministry that will fill your soul with joy. They feature a Sacred Sound series and you should check out this link: . Enjoy the experience. Pax. B
