Grilled tilapia with jerk seasoning, collard greens, mac & cheese, rice — one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Perfectly cooked fish with just the right heat, and the mac & cheese is deliciously decadent. Huge portions. As other reviews note, there was a wait, but it was totally worth it for this fantastic fish. Very glad to have found this truck today!

This truck took forever to take my order and the people running it didn’t really seem interested in customer service. Rather than simply saying«I’ll be with you in a sec,» they just ignored customers until they were ready. Watching what was going on inside the truck, I think it’s just too small for what they’re cooking. Not enough space to keep things moving. That said, I thought my clam strips and chips I ordered were surprisingly good. It’s not going to win any awards, but I wasn’t expecting much at that point. So if you don’t mind the wait, I’d say go for it. Just be prepared to wait 5 – 10 minutes to order… even if nobody is in line in front of you.

Weak. Was craving fish and decided to grab a fish sandwich from Hot Pots. Went to enter and was blinded by all the people standing in the restaurant. Since I had some time on my hands I took the ride to downtown to grab the sandwich from Fishy Tales. Walked up and wasn’t greeted by the young man with the beard. He didn’t say hi how are, nothing. When running a food truck you have to have personality and homeboy don’t have it. Was given my food and still no thank you, have a good day, thanks dr stopping by. Never again.

I thought after waiting over 30 minutes for my food, it would taste magical… yeah. not so much. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing. It was average and definitely not worth the wait.

I had a delicious meal from the truck two weeks ago, and I’m ashamed I haven’t written a Unilocal review yet, because this place really deserves some good ones. I approached the truck thinking its name was«Fishy Tacos.» They use a fancy font on the side of the truck and I have bad eyesight. I was initially disappointed I didn’t find fish tacos on the menu, but I got over that after one bite of my order. I tried the grilled jerk salmon with sides of candied yams and collard greens. It was more expensive than some of the trucks in Bushnell Park at about $ 12, but I was served enough food for at least two meals, so I can’t complain. I waited a decent amount of time(maybe 15 minutes?) for the order to be ready, even though I was early and there weren’t a lot of people in line. Obviously they cook their meals to order, and I wouldn’t want it any other way when ordering fish. The salmon came on top of rice and beans. It truly ranked among the best salmon dishes I’ve eaten in my life, and that’s counting a number of meals from super-fancy restaurants. It tasted so decadent, maybe ordering the fish grilled was no healthier than getting it fried, but I’m not complaining. The yams were very good, but really more than a dessert than a side dish. They gave me about 2 pounds worth of yams with the meal(not exaggerating!) and sadly I don’t think I ate even 25% of it. I clearly lead a sheltered life, because I had never tried collard greens before. I’d order them again but I have nothing to compare them to. I get to Bushnell Park about once a week on average, and there are several trucks there I really like. This one will definitely stay on the rotation, but it might take a while before I bother ordering something besides the salmon!

Fishy Tales by Hot Pots is one of the excellent trucks you will find at the Bushnell Park Food Truck Court; With it’s splashy paint job, Soul Food and Seafood and ample line of people during lunch I was a tad surprised to see it wasn’t list on Unilocal. Now it is. I’ll take this FTR thank you. Of the nearly dozen trucks I ate at in the same day this was the very last and due to the massive line. It was the first in the line up on Wells Street and obviously very popular. I went with the fried clam and chips plate. As you will see by my photos at $ 8 this was a huge take out haul and and haul it away I did. Snacked on some on the way back to my hotel and the full belly clams were fresh, juicy and succulent inside of a sturdy flavorful batter. Exactly the type of quality clams you would expect in New England. Insanely huge amount of fries were hot and tasty. Can only imagine what the soul food here is like, it seemed that most others were order it with greens being very popular. So there’s my tale. A+ Truck.
