Fantastic food — minimal ambiance — everything we tried was fresh, yummy and filling. May become our go-to place before bus station drops.

The barbacoa sopes are fantastic. Their fruit shakes are also a must have. For those that like to explore the beautiful culinary universe of food you have to eat here.

Great little Latin American restaurant throwing done some very good Latin American dishes that are sure to please most anyone who’s «jonesing» for some good eats. This is a very small hole-in-the-wall resto delivering some very big bold authentic flavors from around Latin America. Undoubtedly you will be one of a few Americans in the place the rest will be from throughout the Islands and other Latin American counties. I have been here before and to date have always been more than satisfied. This time I ordered two papusa’s, one bean one pork with cheese and comes with a curtido slaw both were outstanding, the papusa’s were some of the best I’ve had anywhere and I always enjoy the curtido side salad which is so freshing. All of this got washed down with a bottle Jarritos Mandarin. La Casita Del Sabor is a lets do this again type of place and I am sure I will very soon.

La Casita is great. Delicious homemade food, with excellent lunch specials that are really dinner portions. So good.

I was at a hip hop event nearby and saw this place will driving to the venue. My bro was hungry so i told my bro we should head back there. This place is a nice hole in the wall spot. I had some orchata while my bro had one of the natural juices which tasted like guava, delicious! For my main dish i had the bandeja paisa and the bro had some chuleta dish. Portions were great, food was tasty, atmosphere reminded me of a church kitchen or a grandmother’s kitchen. Im not from the area but i will def be back

I order take out about once a week with friends from work. We have explored most of the menu. Some of our favorites are… Tongue tacos, pupusas, soap de mariscos, and major favorite the Peruvian arroz chaufa. This dish is a friend rice with egg, chicken or beef. It is a massive portion, enough for 3 or 4 of us to share. They also make pretty good smoothies. Some issues with language barrier/communication at times but I don’t find it to be too big of a deal. They also sometimes struggle with organizing larger orders. Food is very tasty.

Delicious Latin food, really cheap, giant servings and foods worth at least twice what we paid. As someone who find Mexican and Salvadoran food lacking in the area, this was easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Plus they take credit.

The absolute best Mexican food in Hartford, possibly Connecticut, too. $ 20 bought us four amazing, pillowy pupusas, a massive barbacoa torta with fries, and an order of chicharons with plantains, along with two mango drinks. Everything was cooked perfectly, the homemade salsas were tangy and sweet, and the service was excellent.

So at first glance it’s nothing special but THEFOODISAMAZING!!! Last week I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches and they where huge. We ate one for lunch and the other for dinner. It had fresh avocado and a pink sauce that was killer. It was so good I ordered it again the very next day. My granny got the fish sandwich and we split ½s… The fish was so crispy and tender with amazing flavor and a splash of lime to just put it all together. A-ma-zing!!! Today I went for something new and it blew me away. Ordered the huevos rancheros the plate was so big it would have been enough for two it was delish came with steak, rice, beans, queso fresco, French fries, &2 fried eggs. SO F***ing GOOD!!! Granny had ox-tail soup. With this weather it heated her right up.

I was looking for another latin lunch and after reading the reviews I deceided to try out this place. Its a little place(casita), with few tables inside. When I went in, there were not many people eating. I ordered the pupusas and carne asada. I have to tell you the pupusas are one of the best around. It is soft and delicious. The entrée, carna azada was ok, nothing extraordinary. I had better carne azada at the Rositas restaurant(Honduras food) with more fresh salad and a bowl of awesome bean. You can definitely check La Casita out. Price is reasonable. You can probably share their one dish with another person, they are big. And the pupusas, they are awesome!!!

Tiny space strangely located in the middle of a parking lot in an industrial zone. Great food freshly prepared. Most dishes are Central And South American. AMAZINGSOUPS. Nice people run the place. You’re going for great food, not atmosphere. Love it! THEBESTRESTAURANTINHARTFORD.

my experience was great! This place is the tiniest little thing hidden in parkville! My waitress didn’t speak English but I’m not going to take away from the stars because they are a small mom and pop restaurant… You know what that means??? Authentic food and good service! I ordered the garlic shrimp and it was great! Came with the most relish fried plantains and perfect portion of rice beans salad and shrimp!!! Water is not free it’s in bottles, and it can get pricey, but we’ll worth the money!!!

Definitivamente regresare pronto.

If you are looking for pupusas, I would stop by La Casita del sabor. There aren’t a lot of places in the greater Hartford area that offer these since there aren’t a lot of people from El Salvador around. The place isn’t fancy by any means. Actually, it’s quite small and it’s in a parking structure for a storage place. The pupusas revueltas were surprisingly good. Service was also very friendly. I spoke Spanish to them and they were very attentive. They even offered to cook me something off menu if they had it. The only thing I wasn’t fond of was the bathroom. In order to flush the toilet you needed to move it as it was pushed up against a wall. Also, they had no napkins and used a hand towel like you may have at home. I found that very unhygienic. Also, I was NOT a fan of the horchata. Something about the taste was off from the many horchatas I have had. It was too sweet and had a strange texture to it. Get the pupusa revuelta. You will enjoy it. For background my family is from El Salvador and I have had pupusas for 30+ years in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland and El Salvador.

What a great find in Hartford. Only one review so far but I wanted to check this place out as I have driven past it so many times. There are maybe 6 – 7 tables and a husband and wife that own it. They do speak english so it was easy to ask questions and order. They have the glass bottles of Jarritos soda here and many beer selections, which we didn’t realize until a bunch of people came in and starting ordering coronas and bud light. I posted a bunch of pics and the food was all excellent. We tried papusas(amazing), baleadas, chilquiles, empanadas and a breakfast platter. I have nothing bad to say — each portion was gigantic, very cheap and so tasty. We will definitely be back!

First off, it’s definitely not Mexican food as it was listed on Unilocal. It’s Central American, possibly El Salvador if my memory serves me correctly. The prices are good, and the food is OK; however, I really prefer Mexican food. The owners are pleasant and they aim to please. I visited the small restaurant twice and it did fill the bill in terms of having something different for breakfast, but I am not a fan of the cuisine. Others I know, who have tried it, liked it, so I am giving it an OK. I would rather travel the 4 miles to Cisco’s for its Mexican or American breakfast and lunch. La Casita Del Sabor is open for lunch and breakfast. Give it a shot if you want to try something different. That’s what I like about the Parkville section of Hartford. There are many different styles of cuisine available.
