Monro Muffler Brake & Service

Very nice spot. They took me in on a busy Saturday, checked out the VW for my muffler — said they’d have to order it & what they’d recommend. They called as stated on Monday saying they would have trouble getting it (from a dealer, etc.) and also it gets pretty pricey ($ 1k+) so wanted to see if I wanted the work done. Very nice & pleasant.

Great shop run by a great guy. No push, no up-​sale. Told him what I needed, he explained what he would do to fix it, gave me what I thought was a decent price. Made an appointment, they did what they said, even a bit more and I was out of there within a reasonable time frame. Manny is a great business man. Perhaps that is why he has been there for over 30 years! Highly recommend this place

These guys are great! Granted, they’re SUPER busy so it’s hard to get in, but the manager Manny is a super nice, honest guy who treated me like gold. Not a «drop in» and get your car serviced quickly place but when I need brakes or tires I’ll definitely give them the business. I truly believe they are trustworthy and when do you find that at a repair shop?

Do not ever go to this place! The staff is rude and is not interested in customer satasfaction. An oil change takes close to 3 hours???

I work across the street from this shop, and dropped my car off to get the oil changed. They got everything done in about two hours (which was consistent with the time they told me – plus, they knew that I was in my office and not in any rush). They gave me a call when the car was ready, letting me know that I could pick the car up any time before they closed at 6 PM. Everyone was friendly and professional throughout the whole process.

These people tell u a hour which turns into three hours. Lucky they had a/​c to cool me down. Place is too cheap to have cable on smfh!!!

This is located on the corner of Park St. and Prospect in Hartford. This is a well run Muffler shop. I visit regularly for oil changes. The manager pays attention to details and does not hard sell repairs that are not necessary.

My first and only experience at Monro was atrocious. I stopped in around 11am to ask if they had time for a quick oil change and they assured me that they could get it done «if I could wait a little while.»
No prob, I sure had things to do but wasn’t in a huge rush. Plus, how long could it take– I was the only person there.
Moral of the story: IT SHOULD NOT TAKE AN HOUR AND A HALF.
This was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had in a long time. The manager wrote down my oil change request and left a few minutes after. Little did I know he was leaving for the day. So there I was, with no one around, I’d given up my keys, and there was a big «no entry» sign on the door to the garage where I assumed the mechanics were working.
I waited for an hour and a half without anyone around to let me know when my car would be ready. For the first hour, my car was still parked outside I had no idea who had my keys. When the car was finally in the garage, ²⁄₃ of the mechanics disappeared– I think they went out to lunch. So there was one guy left working– obviously not on my car. Other folks had come in by that time and were obviously annoyed– though not as much as me, I’m sure.
The customer service and communication at this spot is downright pitiful. If I’d known from the start that it’d be such a long, non-​communicative wait, I’d have politely and swiftly taken my business elsewhere.
