We called first thing on a Monday morning for a broken central AC unit. Valentino arrived that same day in the early afternoon and was friendly, courteous and informative. He started on the cheap item first and soon had our unit back up and running.
He also gave us a great deal and NEVER tried to up sell me in the least. I never heard «Oh boy, your [insert expensive sounding item here] is on its last legs».
He seemed genuinely interested in helping us AND at the lowest possible cost to us. This makes for a happy customer AND a repeat customer.
He was fair and honest, unlike other larger HVAC companies I have dealt with.

When is the absolute BEST time for the air conditioner to stage a revolt against me, you ask? During the worst ever heat wave, of course! In desperation, I called the company who installed the heat pump 6 years ago. The serviceman came to my house, checked the unit outside for 10 minutes and said I had a «bad valve». The part would be ordered and in a couple days, I’d have it repaired. I should add that the work was going to cost $ 750+.
I happened to talk to a neighbor who told me about Valentino at Value Temp. I canceled the appointment with the previous company in hopes that Val could do the work for less.
Are you ready for this??? The valve (called a TEX valve) is in the unit inside the house. The previous guy never took the unit apart to check it! Actually the previous guy hardly checked anything compared to what Valentino did. Valentino showed me EVERYTHING that he was assessing. He took me to the unit outside and explained what he was doing and did the same inside. He said the valve was doing what it should. Had I had it replaced, it would have made no difference, and here’s why. The coil was dirty. Valentino offered to come back the next day to clean it or he said I could do it myself, so long as I followed his directions.
I went to home depot and for 7 bucks I bought a wire brush, some filters, and a pack of face masks. I use Filtrete filters, but Val recommended I add one of those thin filters behind the large vent that draws air into the equipment so the air would be cleaner before it reached the coil. I cleaned the coil. IT WORKED!!! I won’t ever use the previous company again. I’ve already recommended Valentino to so many people. He saved me from being ripped off. If you want someone who’s HONEST and knows his stuff, call Valentino.
