If you’re a beef and rings fan this is the place to go. Growing up in the Boston area Kelly’s Roast Beef was considered the best. Steve’s easily beats them with the quality and amount of meat your are given. Chicken kabob salad and pizza are very good as well. Usually order delivery which a pleasant experience from the order to the person that brings it to my door. Have been ordering from there for a couple of years and haven’t had bad food or an experience yet.

Love the roast beef and pizza. When I first moved to the area I got great feedback from others. Glad we took their advice.

We are fortunate to have many great roast beef places in this general area. Harrison’s in North Andover and The Blue House in Salem, NH are two excellent establishments that I have frequented for over 10 years. However for the last few years, Steve’s Famous Roast Beef in Haverhill has taken the crown. To be clear, I have only ever ordered two things here and cannot comment on Steve’s other offerings. The roast beef is superb… always freshly carved and always rare… I can’t stress enough how important the consistently rare beef is to elevating Steve’s over the aforementioned other fine establishments. I always get the big beef which is served on a onion roll, personally I like it with BBQ sauce & cheese… I hate mayo. As if the beef alone wasn’t enough, Steve’s also has the best onion rings in the area. Thin sliced and lightly coated… presumably by hand, they remind me of the amazing onion rings I had growing up in Lowell that were served by(the now sadly closed) Captain Jason’s Pizza. As other folks have mentioned, the service is insanely fast… as a matter of fact I don’t even bother to call my order in anymore as traffic delays often make it a non-factor. Living in Haverhill we have a lot of great dining options and I’m happy to say that Steve’s Famous is not only one of Shoe City’s best but also one of the best roast beef joints in New England.

Heard about Steve’s from a friend, so I had to stop by. I ordered the«Big Beef» sandwich with sauce on the side. The beef was served on a seeded bun that was buttered and grilled. Biting into the crispy bun was a nice feature of the sandwich. The roast beef was sliced thin and wasn’t over cooked. Better than Harrison’s Roast Beef.

The few things that had me at 4 stars(small inconsistencies on the food prep) have changed. Not only is it delicious, but reliable and delivery is shockingly fast. Tons of love for Steve’s!

My family has ordered from here since it had opened. And, my kids order the SAMETHING every single time. I can’t get my 10 year old to order anything else beside their meatball sub. He loves it! The staff there have become an extended family to us. Always a friendly atmosphere, even when they are busy. I always get a wave from the owners out back, and the counter staff are kind and personable. Delivery is even better. They recognize our phone number and know the address. The drivers are super prompt and good people. I personally get the buffalo chicken wrap once a week, and unlike most sub shops and pizza places, the quality doesn’t vary. It is always good. The freshness and care in food quality here is consistent. Delicious food, and great service. Definitely worth a shot.

Ok, admittedly I am not from around here. But my wife’s family is. So we have been to few roast beef places — can’t eat seafood ALL the time! We were both absolutely blown away with the quality of this place! Roast beef was rare, succulent, and plentiful, and not salty at all. I had the pastrami which I can say was the best I have had anywhere. The onion rings are made fresh here, and not a lot of breading — just good rings. You gotta try this place!

Updating this review. It’s still not a bad place, and it has outlasted the Subway right next door. The roast beef is still delicious, but it kills my stomach. However, I think that’s my own issue rather than their food. Perhaps a mix of BBQ sauce and mayo is not a good combo for me, but it really does taste great. The rest of the food is hit or miss. Some good, some ok. This is a place that is definitely worth checking out and trying for yourself because you may fall in love with the roast beef, and your stomach will probably handle it better than mine can.

Everything I have had here has been great, I think the roast beef is definitely best. It’s the best in the area, great taste and generous with the roast beef. The calzones are really good too.

Steve’s roast beef is a good place to eat. Their roast beef sandwiches are pretty good and their blt’s are amazing. Not my first choice in places to eat but still good. The staff is very friendly and I only had a problem one time which they were very good with fixing. They had forgot a part of my order but with no problem the driver brought it over in record time.

I stopped after court in Lawrence and slammed a jr. Beef. Best Jr. Beef from Newburyport to boston, from buzzys to Kelly’s, even nicks famous in Beverly. Hell, they practically raised me at nicks. Not cheap. But well worth it And they’re not stingy with the sauce!

Ordered dinner tonight and they forgot one of our meals. Called back and the rude girl answering the phone started arguing with me about the order and basically calling me a liar. Owner was a jerk about it also. Instead of fixing the problem and just sending out the food($ 6 spaghetti dinner) they forgot, they tell me they are too busy to deal with it and hang up. If you want to be treated like garbage go ahead and order from them. Food wasn’t that great either, burger was burnt and resembled a hockey puck and the onion rings were gross.

Just moved to Haverhill and tried a steak & cheese at Steve’s. It was delicious! The beef was tasty and the rolls were yummy too. Will definitely go back! The pizzas are also good, nice crispy crust!

I went to Steve’s roast beef for lunch today and was far from impressed. I ordered a Greek salad and my co-worker ordered a garden salad. Simple enough right? Nope! Both of our salads had brown lettuce in it. We both picked about half of the lettuce out of each salad. The picture I have is of the brown lettuce in just one of the salads. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. I do visit Steve’s from time to time and 4 out of 5 times I am happy with my order. Today, however, lunch was not appealing.

Called to place an order for pick up and encountered the nastiest person on the phone. She spoke so fast and harshly, clearly not happy doing her job. I brought my business elsewhere.

Moved down the street 6 months ago and I’m always looking for good take out food. I’ve dined in once and did take out twice. Beef and cheese of course all 3 times. It’s cheaper then Harrison’s and to be honest I think I prefer it. The only other thing I have tried here are the chicken fingers and fries and they were very good as well. No delivery charge but they ask if you want to add a tip to your card. Prices are great People seem nice. No complaints.

The only place in Haverhill that I buy a sandwich from is Steve’s. The roast beef sandwiches are always delicious and fresh. I always get the Super with sauce and onion, and by the time I am finished eating it, I wish I had another one. It comes on a big onion roll and loaded with shredded beef and thinly sliced onions and a nice piece of american cheese. Its delicious. I also often get the braided subs as they are good as well. I like the cheeseburger(which is packed full of 3 whole patties… I get it with bacon, grilled onion and lettuce… so good), the chicken bomb and the steak and cheeses. They are all good, and I have never had a bad experience with them. For sides, I like the onion rings as they are thinly sliced and not a ton of breading on them. Similar to an onion ring from Kelly’s…not beer battered or extra breaded at all. The service is always fast and usually things are ready in 10 minutes or less.

I stopped at Steve’s Famous Roast Beef for a quick lunch. The place is pretty cozy and clean, order at the counter with self serve seating for eating in. This place serves up roast beef sandwiches including the Super(on an onion roll), Big(on a sesame seed roll) and Jr(on a hamburger bun), plus other hot & cold sandwiches, focaccia, roll-ups, salads, pasta dinners, steak tips, chicken kabobs, sides, and Pepsi drinks. I decided to get a Big Roast Beef with horseradish & lettuce($ 4.85 plus tax), I believe they charge extra for sandwich toppings, which has been the standard at several roast beef places in the region. The big sandwich served on a big toasted sesame seed roll had plenty of meat! The roast beef was shaved(similar to the meat used in steak subs) and not bloody, cooked medium well. However, the sandwich did not have much shredded lettuce and horseradish sauce as I’d like on my sandwich. Other than that, the sandwich was good.
