Bell Cab

I escalated my complaint to Bell’s Management team. I was politely told that because my trip was a short trip and under $ 20. that their drivers, who are independent contractors, are free to turn down these trips at will if they are deemed unprofitable and Bell makes no promises to honor online reservations I was also denied my request for either a refund or a replacement trip. I do not feel that this would have been out of the question and I strongly believe that Bell needs to update their on-​line tool to include the same disclaimer that I was given verbally and only after the fact.

Please also bear in mind that I even took the additional step to call and reconfirm on the day of my trip and was firmly assured by the dispatcher that I would be picked up as per my reservation. I have escalated to the city — but I am not hopeful that there will be anything done to prevent other people from this same scenario. Customer service should be a priority for any company providing this type of a service.

I use Bell Cab a lot and they’ve always arrived on time and been courteous and respectful. Left my headphones in the cab last time and was able to retrieve them easily and without any hassle. Everyone i dealt with was very professional

Normally, I and my family would have nothing but praise for the treatment we receive from Bell Cab, however our most recent involvement with a particular driver left us remembering the adage «One bad apple…»!
The driver in question is car number 5903! Luckily for him, I have not been able to get his name, else he might be avoided by customers like the plague!
First, he started off arriving 3 houses away from me and forget about the fact that I was in the middle of the street waving at him before he realized that he was at the wrong address (5 minutes later)!
Next, upon arrival at the destination, he barked «YOU DON’T HAVE ANY CASH «, when he was given my credit card! As well, he hastily ran the card in error, 3 times causing it to freeze my account regardless of the fact that I have over a thousand dollars in it!
Then, the final straw was when he demanded that I go into a Walmart and return with cash, which I reluctantly did! Never mind the fact that the competent folks at Walmart were able to run my card with great success to hand me cash!
My message to you is a simple one, avoid the guy who drives car number 5903, and, just in case the drivers drive different cars, avoid the guy who’s carrying about 150 extra pounds, is about 6 foot and gray short hair! Oh, and he speaks with an accent thats either middle eastern or deep European! No matter, the guy’s an unequivocall asshole!

I took a cab home from the airport on Sunday and left my phone in the car. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a receipt nor did I get the cab number. When I called the office, I actually got a helpful woman who tried to use data from my iPhone tracking app to identify the driver. No luck. I managed through other means (thank you Square) to track down the driver yesterday. He apparently didn’t think it necessary to drop off my phone at the Bell Cab office on either Sunday or yesterday and this morning, charged me the $ 39 fare from Van Nuys to my house in West LA to ‘deliver’ my phone. If he had dropped off my phone like he’s supposed to, I would have gone to get it and it would have cost me nothing. When I called to complain, the manager essentially told me that since I wanted my phone delivered, I should be charged, I pointed out that his driver never actually turned my phone in to the office so I had no choice but to have it ‘delivered’ and that my phone was essentially being held hostage. My logic fell on deaf ears so I just gave up.

Worst experience ever!!! Next time I rather walk than get a cab from them !!! I was on hollywood Blvd trying to get home, I had to call them 3 times to get the cab and the lady on the phone (dispenser no 30 I think) was very rude when I ask for the 3^rd time where is my car. After I got home (my fault) I forgot a bag in the car. I had to call back to ask for the driver to come back and she told me that it’ll cost me more than $ 20 and the driver was 5 min away!!! I’ll never use this company anymore

I needed a wheelchair taxi for transport on Sunday so I booked online on Friday to be extra sure to get one. I called on Saturday to confirm and to book return trip. Then on Sunday, 20 minutes before taxi was supposed to show up, they call me and say they don’t have a car. We were screwed! You’re supposed to reserve 24 hours in advance, and other places say they need at least 1 hour notice to get a wheelchair van. It was a special family event, with grandfather attending granddaughter’s piano performance, and he missed it. We were all devastated. Never using this company again. Then they had the nerve to call later to confirm the return trip!

I booked the cab online at 8pm for a 4am pick up. Called at 3:55am because it showed «not dispatched» online. I was told they do not dispatch until 15 min prior. That would be understandable; however at 3:55am, 5 min before my pickup time the car had not been dispatched. Dispatcher said car would be there in 5 – 7 min.
Did not happen, called back and was told it would be another 10 min.
Cab finally arrived 15 min late.
At least the driver was nice; however I will not use or recommend company due to lack of customer service.

Extremely Unsatisfied with their service, I used their service several times before writing this review. I used their service to get my daughter to school, thinking service would be better for a repeat customer… No. The first week the drivers were on time but 2 of the drivers decided to take a longer route to the same location charging my daughter $ 20 for a trip that had only been costing us $ 10. After the first week every day after that they were late. I would call them at 7:15 for 7:30 they never showed before 7:50 causing my daughter to be late for school. I called their main office once to complain about being overcharged, they took my name and number but I have yet to receive a call back regarding the complaint

I was picked up in Hermosa Beach by myself to go home Saturday night. The cab driver right off the bat was extremely unfriendly. A few minutes into our drive, I noticed his meter was off. When I asked him about it his response was that I could pay him whatever I wanted when we got to my house. (Obviously he wanted to pocket my money.) I told him that was fine. I live just about a mile away. When we got to my house I gave him my credit card and he freaked out telling me I had to pay with cash, even though there was a working credit card machine right there. (Again obviously wanting to pocket money.) I told him that was all I had and he was pissed. He just charged me the $ 10 flat fee, no tip. He ran my card and I left… And nowww I checked my credit card account yesterday and there were two charges! 1 for $ 10 and one for $ 25. I have tried calling Bell Cab company numerous times and they never answer their phone. BULL.

I called for a cab and was told or would take 10 – 20 minutes to pick me up from my house. 35 minutes later I call to check the status and was told they still didn’t have anyone on this trip. Forget it, we’ll try über.

Another great ride!!! Saturday night Mid-​City to WeHo. Our driver was Beyene and it was cab number 5823. Super nice guy. Called for the cab and he was there within 10 minutes and off we went.

the guy arrived a few mins early and patiently waited outside until i was ready.
They use a cool automated system to call you when the cab arrives and they ask you if you still want the cab. you press 1 for yes and 2 for no. I like that! That way you dont have to run down to the door and ask the cab driver to wait. Instead you can answer the phone and then keep on packing.
I wouldve given 4 – 5 stars but somethign was up with the credit card machine and I had to wait an extra 3 – 5 mins for it to process. Good thing I wasnt late for my flight.

(NOTE: I didnt look here before I booked … otherwise would never have done so)
I went online to find a cab to LAX, and found Bell Cab. Then I noticed that the ability to book online, so went for it. Booked a cab at 230p, put in my address, city, etc. (and no ability to put in the zip, but figured … they are local)
At 210pm I got an automated message the «cab was here». WTF? I hurried to get out the door, and noticed … no cab … I live in Manhattan Beach, and many times Magellan GPS systems will take people to the same address in Hermosa (or they don’t notice there are two, and select Hermosa).
I called in and got a Bell Operator, and told her I got the message and no one there. Did not have a chance to explain the potential problem, and she said «they will be there in a minute» and cut me off.
I waited with no cab and then 5 – 10 min later — called back.
I got the same operator (as she told me …), and tried to explain the GPS situation. Then she went off on me. She gave me the address, and the WRONG zip she said *I* inputted. (again, I couldnt have put that in) Then gave me incorrect cross streets, etc. and I said that was clearly Hermosa, and I was in Manhattan. Again, she said this was all my fault, and said she would put a rush on the cab.
The cab driver arrived and was nice. But then said he inputted the MANHATTAN BEACH address, and it into the Magellan GPS and it took him to Hermosa.
Moral of the story … Next time, call a different cab company.

Tried them for first time, called them 2 days for a trip to the airport LAX, and requested a van for 4 people. At the pick up time no one showed up, when I called them they said they had no vans available and they had called another cab company to do the pick up. The other cab company was 20 minutes late. It was a mad dash to the airport. I will never use them again, and I hope no one else will until they get their customer service under control.

from LAX to UCLA, the driver said my first card was declined (which it was), said he ran out of credit card receipts for my second card, so we drove to an ATM & I paid him cash.
4 days later, reviewing my card receipts — the second card was indeed charged.
In retrospect it appears the driver knew what he was doing; he took advantage of a weary traveller and got paid twice — leaving me with no physical record of either payment !
Fortunately, the management office was extremely responsive, found the transaction, and reversed the charge.
So — 0 stars for the driver, 5 stars for the management office = three stars average.

Save your money and don’t bother with them because they will not service you if you don’t have a physical address.
My problem started on Friday night when one of my friends took me to the airport. On the way to LAX, she suffered an engine trouble. (by the way, don’t get a VW Jetta, it’s a piece of junk that will require countless of repair cost).
Needless to say, we got AAA to tow her car back to her home, but poor ol’ me need to get to airport. Because of the fact that we are at Crenshaw Blvd at night near the Greenline Metrorail station (near the Hawthorne airport too), there is no real physical address for the parking lot of the Greenline station. It took countless of calls to try to convince them to send out a cab for me as I am hopelessly stuck and need to get to airport fast. I can understand if they feel some suspect is going to rob their cab in a non-​physical address. But c’mon, if you stuck in nowhere and needed a ride, then what?
The cab never came, so finally I had to bribe the AAA guy to sent me to the airport. That’s right… AAA sent me to airport. Great story, but a lousy experience to begin a trip. Ay Caramba!
