Dr Timothy Verny has no idea what he’s doing when it comes to making dentures … He screwed mine up so bad I was out of work for ⁴¹⁄₂ months with no teeth … I had to have the dentures made over by a different dentist & they were a perfect fit … Not only did I suffer financially & physically but I could only drink smoothies … I am a very social person and I didn’t go out in public or have any social life … At any cost I highly recommend that you find a different dentist … Dr Verny is a money hungry jerk that never offered to fix his mistakes or have compassion for the circumstances he caused … Shame on you dr Verny!!!

I couldn’t be more satisfied with the quality of service provided to me by Hawthorne Dental. It’s my one stop shop for all my dental and orthodontic needs. The staff at Hawthorne Dental are always professional and courteous. It’s always a welcoming environment and they make you feel like you’re family. Hands down this is the best dentists and orthodontists in SoCal. The staff Lucy is the best. I would recommend Hawthorne dental to my family and friends and you know they must be exceptional if I’ve taken the time out to write a review that describes their high level and quality of service. Thank you Hawthorne Dental for taking care of me. Overall, my experience at Hawthorne Dental has been a positive one and I would encourage anyone looking for a great place to handle all of their dental needs to give them a try… You will not be disappointed!

The dentist himself is great. Back office staff– decent. Front office staff– HORRIBLE. Especially the financial manager. I have Denti-​Cal and had 2 fillings that needed to get fixed (from a previous dentist). On the day of my appointment, the dentist told me only one filling will get fixed. When I asked why he brought in the Financial Manager who explained Denti-​Cal only covered one of the fillings and the second one would be would be $ 175 out of my pocket. After my procedure I asked another front office staff the same question as to why only one filling got covered instead of both, unfortunately she did not know and asked the Financial Manager who RUDELY turned around and looked at me and said, «I already told her it’s $ 175.» THAT WAS NOT MY QUESTION. Never going back, all they care about is money and screwing adult Denti-​Cal clients over.

Let me start by saying I rarely ever Unilocal and whenever I have in the past, it’s always been to give a positive review. So the one star I am giving this dental office is definitely well deserved. I first came to this dentist because it was my default primary care office upon enrolling in a new insurance. I waited over an hour in the lobby before I finally inquired as to what was taking so long. I was then told that there were 3 more people waiting in front of me 0.0. I don’t even know how that was possible since my appointment was at 9 am, which was supposed to be the earliest appointment they had available. Not to mention the woman at the front desk was extremely rude and did not have any of the personable qualities that I usually encounter with front desk dental associates.
Anyhow about an hour later I finally saw the dentist, who told me I would have to come back another day for my deep cleaning. I left with the intention of changing offices immediately but it was just my luck that I got a wisdom tooth infection only a few days later. The pain was unbearable, so I called what was supposed to be the office’s emergency line and the woman on the other end seemed annoyed and completely ignorant of what her responsibilities were supposed to be as an on-​call assistant. She told me that someone would call me during the office’s regular hours of business. Sure enough, hours passed and I finally got a call that the dentist could see me but it wouldn’t be for another 2 days! With no other choice, I waited 2 days to get some relief, only to experience another 2 hour lobby wait and a dentist who couldn’t even tell that my wisdom tooth was infected until I stated the suspicion myself (I can’t remember the name of the oral surgeon).
Long story short, this dental office was the worst I have ever been to and I am thrilled that I have switched PCP’s now that I have to undergo oral surgery.

After meeting with the dentist personally about the issues I was having, the service has been excellent. Josie has helped me with everything. She is patient, professional, kind and very helpful. I appreciate the time they took to make everything much more pleasant. My daughters braces are coming off soon (2 months) & high school begins next year… Pray for me! Lol

Found this AMAZING dental place through Unilocal the exact day when my back 2 teeth started to hurt. I called immediately (same day) and had an appointment the next morning with Dr. Verny. Very friendly and knowledgeable Dr. Verny asked me a series of questions that I answered which were followed by comforting remarks of why this may be occurring. «Hot Tooth» was the issue and within minutes Dr. Verny knew what needed to be done and was already working with his wonderful/​amazing staff to take care of 2 root canals ASAP.
I was scared/​nervous/​in pain but again Dr. Verny calmed me and took me step by step of what was to happen in the next few visits. I have never been happier with a dentist the way I am with this wonderful dentistry. I am glad to say that Doctor Verny and Team at Hawthorne Dental made my pain go away instantly and gave me a reason to not be afraid of the Dentist Office.
Love this place and Dr. Verny!!! IM PAIN FREE!

First off, I would give this place a zero if it were an option.
Unfortunately, I attended this location because I was sent here from my medical. My first visit here, I had a check up in which the dentist insisted that I needed two of my wisdom teeth removed. I scheduled my appointment and went back to remove both of my wisdom teeth. During the process, I realized that the doctor removing the wisdom teeth wasn’t being very careful about it, he did the process in less than 10 minutes.
The following day, I realized I was still numb and in pain, I had my sister call for me and she was told that this was normal, it may last up to 3 months like that. However, I insisted and went to the doctor myself every Other Thursday for check ups because I knew this wasn’t right. They performed x-​Rays and said everything was normal.
Approximately two months after my wisdom teeth were removed, the doctor said that my jaw bone was «cracked» but that is was not a big deal and it would fix on its own.
Two weeks after this, I went in again and this time my mom joined and insisted that this was not normal and would not fix on its own. It was then that the doctor told us, that he had broken my jaw bone during the removal of the wisdom teeth.
Unfortunately, in order to have surgery on a jaw bone it has to be within 4 – 6 weeks but since the doctor informed me that my jaw bone was broken two in a half months later, I will not be able to fix my broken jaw bone, not to mention it is still numb and in pain. Through the x rays the doctor took every time I would go in, it was noticeable that I had a broken jaw bone however he decided to not inform me.
Personally, this is not a dental care that I would recommend or return to besides this process of removing the wisdom teeth, their customer service is not the best. Very unsatisfying.

To start things off, I have been coming to this dentist for 6 years. Don’t think I’m just a first time visitor who didn’t get it their way. As a client of this orthodontist, I always thought highly of them. It seemed evident that they were interested in your well being and we’re always trying to help you with your smile. That all changed in my recent visits.
I had braces, and when they were removed, it was discovered that I had 6 cavities! I asked the doctor doing the evaluation and he told me that often times cavities are masked behind the braces. I then advised him how they had pretty much forced me to get a deep cleaning, which my insurance didn’t cover and was paid out of pocket. (At that time they told my parents that it was needed in order to continue with my orthodontic treatment, and it would rid of useless gum and get rid of potential cavities on the base of my teeth.) the doctor was then speechless and did not try to defend their actions.
I then presumed to talk to one of the front office clerks. One who claimed to be the ‘financial manager’ took up my question and said it’s not their fault I ‘did not know how to brush correctly’ … Like how are you going to tell a client of 6 years that? Then when I asked her if she was sure about that she said yes because I had missed and rescheduled multiple appointments. How does that make sense? How does that bridge together?
In reality, as it’s called, it’s a business and they’re in it just for the money. Yes, they remember your names, but that’s just a business strategy to make you feel important and wanted, and to reel you back in.
As for myself, I’m switching to another dentist after this. I think, however, that I sadly need to keep them as my orthodontist until next June per agreement.
If you want to go to an honest dentist office to make your family dentist, do think twice. You have been warned!

I give them one star ONLY because I have to! But I hate this place! they are just money hungry and don’t care about their patients at all!!!

This is the best dentist experience I have ever had. Dr Verny was recommended to me from a friend at work and even though I work in BH and live in the valley I drove the extra time to Hawthorne and it was worth every minute. Maria performed a top notch cleaning and Dr Verny gave me two crowns and filled several cavities. My recovery time was very fast and the work was done with confidence and all of my questions were answered. I always felt like a priority and the front office was every friendly and best of all efficient! If you want to feel good about your dentist experience, go here. It’s worth checking out.

Where can I begin?! I found this place in April 2013 when shopping around for a good dentist that was convenient for me. When I came across Hawthorne Dental, I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive being that I was new to California and was unsure of the customer service. Once I made it inside, I was quickly put at ease!
Before I can begin with the doctors, I must start with the front office. By far, they are the best group of people that I have dealt with since moving to CA! I do not know how they do it but they manage to know who I am by name before I even knew them! I do not mean by appointment, there have been a few times that I just popped in and regardless of who was at the front desk, they knew me by name. That means a lot to me.
Along with the front desk, the staff is very patient and courteous. I tend to ask lots of questions since someone is doing work on my mouth. I even ask the same question a few times just for clarity. Even if one felt as if I was getting on their nerves, I would not even know it. My questions and concerns are addressed and I leave each time with full knowledge of my dental visit as well as what’s in store in the future.
Professionalism is at its finest there. Have you ever been in a place where it is a bit surreal — thinking you’re at a friend’s or family member’s place? That’s how I feel when I go to Hawthorne Dental. You’re not treated as a patient. You’re treated as if you’re family. I like to talk so it feels good that the folks at Hawthorne Dental do not just care about teeth. They genuinely ask how you are doing or how your day is going.
If I had one drawback, it would be the folks in the waiting area but who would say that’s an issue (this is really having to think or something «negative» but really is good to me)?! To me, it is assuring that Hawthorne Dental really knows what they are doing. The proof is in the pudding, folks. The amount of folks in the waiting area lets me know that I am getting the real deal and other folks are doing the same.
To me, it seems as through the folks at Hawthorne Dental are meshed well. They all work together to ensure that I have the greatest care possible and share a good conversation and laughs along the way. I have had a great experience there and as long as I am in the SoCal area, Hawthorne Dental will be the place for me!
I challenge anyone who reads this to give Hawthorne Dental a shot. You will not be disappointed!

Dr Verny took his time to answer all of my questions and concerns about the post-​care. He is very knowledgable, patient, and always smile when talking to patients/​customers. Dr Alexis Ninzi — dental surgeon is trustable, cool and fast. Dr Kevin H. Is okie. He may be smart but not sure bout building trust with patients at the first time. Front office staffs are okie. Back office ones are alright

I’m sitting in the chair at Hawthorne dental right now just got fitted for my crown and Dr Verny no pain today, I really call it the place that is really has sensitivity when it comes to your comfort when doing the many procedures to give you that beautiful smile.
I have been coming to Hawthorne Dental for the past I don’t know 10 years or so, The staff is professional and courteous, I have also sent other to this office because they work with you to insure you get the best care possible both in billing and services rendered.
I hate pain and I am sure you do too that’s if your a normal person, So I say that to say this nothing is pain free but Dr Verny has on many occasions minimized it to the best of his abilities that I no longer mind get work done at this office…
Thanks to all the staff and especially those behind the scenes that make it all happen like clock work…

I think every one who ever has problem with his teeth can understand me.
During last three years I went from one dental office to another for help with my dental problem as a result of car axcident. I’ve got one surgery after another.
Finally my ex coworker recommended me Hawthorn dental. It is a little far away from my place but I decided to go. Now, when every thing finally ended, I can say my hope was reworded. Dr. Verny and all his staff was very attentive, respectful. My 6 implants stay firmly and I successfully got rid of temporary denture.

The staff at this office is ridiculously friendly. I felt right at home with them as soon as I got there, they were nice and the environment was positive and upbeat. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone who has a fear of going to the dentist. You’ll love it!

Very very pleased! A lot lower price than 3 other places I have visited and a lot nicer people. Doctor Tim is like a magician. He did 2 root canals and I didn’t feel any pain.
Doctor Tim called me in the evening at home to see how I felt after. When I later came back for a crown fitting, I only had to wait 5 minutes before being taken in to see the doctor. Also the office is super clean and all equipment looks like new. I notice these things because I am paranoid about cleanness and I felt really comfortable there. My friend recommended Dr. Tim to me and told me that when he called Dr. Tim during the long weekend because he was in pain, Dr. Tim came from home to open the office and help him. Most people are afraid to go to the dentist, but after my experience with Doctor Tim my dental phobia is gone.

I don’t recommend going to this place. The service is horrible, they are cold-​hearted. The receptionists are great but the DOCTOR and MANAGER were terrible I could say some other word but I don’t want this taken down. They make you feel lake you are nothing. My son had a tooth extracted, they didn’t make sure that if he was fully numb. People should not have to go through some thing like that. When it came to check if he needed braces they just did a quick look and said no with no explanation in why not. When he clearly needs it. And I do mean that it was a quick look. It was open your mouth… No… What… Did you check with your eyes closed. It’s not like it was going to be free. I also wasn’t the only person there that had trouble with them and that was on the same day! I wouldn’t even put a half a star but I have to put one.
