Always loved this place even since I was a kid, but the quality has just lowered throughout time. I would always get a stomach ache after eating here now like its weird. There’s new people there but they’re super friendly. But I don’t trust this place after my girlfriend suffered food poisoning from this place that got her throwing up for almost 3 days. Watch out, make sure there stuff is up to standard.

It’s no secret that I love tacos, they’re perfect all around– small, cheap, easily made into a meal or snack. Had a late morning flight out of LAX while coming from Buena Park. Stopped off a couple of off-ramps early and made my way to Amigos. Ordered one chicken and beef taco for the flight. Less than $ 4, and it hit the spot as a snack/light meal on the flight. Will definitely enjoy Amigos whenever I pass through the Hawthorne area. Can’t wait to try some of the other items on the menu. Will repeat and highly recommend!

I love authentic mexican food. The tacos lacked flavor and everything was already cooked just sitting there. They used shredded kraft or generic cheese. No homemade shells which once you have them nothing else will do. I say no, thumbs down, run, dont go. Its not worth it at all

Stopped by to try this place more or less at random — it was OK. They charged $ 6.98 including tax for a burrito with cheese(+ $ 0.75 for cheese)… and they gave some marinated carrots and a pepper — but no salsa of any mention or merit? I had a leunga burrito and it ranks as fair … the place was well worn and a bit poorly kept. It was so-so and I regret to say I’d recommend you pass because there are clearly better places to risk dining at. On the PLUS side — the location is rather convenient — it lies on Rosecrans so when heading to the freeway this way you can pass by easily. The staff were reasonably cordial — and parking was not so tough — but if the other businesses were open I can see how it might get crowded? Sigh… sorry I can’t say more that’s positive …

Sorry guys, but coming from a true Mexican with a real taste for authentic flavor, this place doesnt make the cut. Not only the that, but the tacos are expensive for their size. The asada meat tasted generic and lacked flavor but I still ate them. Its the Alpastor that made me want to ask for my money back. It was truly disgusting. No flavor and it tasted tarty. Heres a hint, meat shouldnt be tarty. Do yourself a favor and skip this place and if your willing to make the drive for better, fresher, less expensive tacos head over to el Antojito on figueroa and taste the difference. Not coming back.

This is actually a good place to have some really good tacos, but I find that I normally hit this place if my other spots are closed or it is late(past 9:00pm). This time I went there late and asked for the taco plate(2 tacos, rice and beans), but being HUNGRY… added a taco. 2 carnitas 1 chicken The guy taking my order said that he wouldn’t charge me for the 3rd taco as it normally comes with a drink which I didn’t want… called it even. very nice. The food was good. Meat flavorful and I enjoyed. I will be back.

This was the first place my s. o and I went to eat after arriving in California for our vacation. We were starving and the hotel we were staying at was within walking distance to this place. We each ordered 4 or 5 tacos, both getting the carnitas and the chicken. For the price we paid I think they were good, but not great. We both thought they were a little on the dry side. The lady who took our order at the counter was very polite and patient in explaining what certain menu items were. It’s a decent value and convenient if you’re staying/working in the area or need a quick and tasty pick-me-up.

Carne Asada burrito is really good. The salsa, jalapeño and carrots really flavor the beans, rice, cilantro and beef.

This place is a good place if you’re looking for a good quick and cheap meal. Their burritos and tacos are delicious. The Horchata taste great compare to other places where you can taste it came from powder form. There are always friendly cashiers there and I try to tip every time I go. Tacos de carne asada are amazing. The sauce they add to it is hot but makes it really good compare to other places that add salsa that taste like the ones they give you a taco bell. It does get really hot in there during the summer time. They have fans running but it doesn’t do much to keep the heat down. It is sometimes hard to find parking their as it shares its parking with a liquor store and a couple other shops. I would recommend this place to anybody looking for a quick Mexican food bite

Pretty good tacos. I was hungry and didn’t feel like driving around to find a taco truck in the area. Tried the carne asada and adobada tacos, not half bad. Not sure if the tacos come with salsa or if one has to request it, but don’t forget to tell them to put salsa and ASK for extra salsa, as there isn’t a salsa bar. This is a CASHONLY joint. Boooo who carries cash…

The food is good and cheap and it’s prepared fast. If you’re looking for something fancy this isn’t the place. If you want something basic like a burrito, taco or torta with no frills but that will hit the spot, this is the place to come if you’re in the area. They’re open til 2:30am on Friday and Saturday to accommodate the patrons leaving the local bars.

Love the tacos, I drove 10miles Not oily and price is right. Very informal about one step above hole in the wall status. They have burritos, tacos, tortas, and quesadillas. The service is pretty quick and it’s possible to spend under $ 10 unless you’re greedy like me.

Within a short walking distance, so simple for access. As other Unilocalers have stated this place used to be über yummy, but management has since changed like three times since then. Still, it’s pretty darn good, and my dad eats their burritos like every weekend(not exactly healthy though). Give it a try, it’s satisfying.

This place is really delicious. If you know you have the taste for Mexican food you’ll like it here. I got adobada tacos and my husband got an asada burrito. Today we got food from tacos Sinaloa and I like amigos tacos meat more. The hubby and his fam really likes taco sinaloas salsas.

No the food isn’t amazing amazing quality. But it is fairly authentic. I’ve only had carne asada here and its good. The prices here are low for a lot of food. The mexi bowl is a good option: rice beans cheese meat onions cilantro salsa and tortillas. I always come here and get a bean rice and cheese burrito I know weird but its bomb. They also have really really good carrots that come with your food and a really good habanero sauce for you spice lovers. Again not the best place ever but I’m def a fan and always come here for cheap good quality food. Four stars because its good enough that i crave it sometimes.

This used to be one of my favorite places to grab a late night carne asada burrito. The meat was a little more finely chopped and somewhat spicier than most places. It was delicious. However, I stopped eating here for several years. Mainly due to my desire to go out and experience newer & exciting foods. However, I did make a visit to this place this past weekend. And I was greatly disappointed. First off, it’s located in a tiny shopping plaza. There’s literally only enough room for maybe 2 or 3 businesses. Parking can be a pain sometimes since they only have maybe 8 – 10 spots available and they’re pretty cramped. The décor both outside & in is your typical«hole-in-the-wall» look. And the employees, as well as the clientele, look a bit dodgy. In the past, this has always been forgivable due to the tasty food. But this past weekend, I felt cheated. I ordered my «old faithful», the carne asada burrito. And since I was in a good mood(and hungry), I also ordered a carnitas burrito. I LOVE carnitas! I figured my wife and I could share both burritos and that way I could have a taste of each. The size of the burritos are respectable. They don’t short-change you on the meat. However, the taste left MUCH to be desired. The carnitas were extremely bland. As if they didn’t add any seasonings to the meat. The carne asada was a bit better. It had that old familiar taste, but much duller than I remember. It’s as if both burritos has the flavor sucked out of them. It’s with a heavy heart that I must agree with many of my fellow Unilocalers and say that Amigos Taco is mediocre, at best. The burritos aren’t the worst I’ve had, but they’re a far cry from what they used to be. I don’t think I could recommend anyone to try this place, nor do I think I’ll be making another visit anytime soon. It’s rare I rate any place as low as 2 stars, but the bland taste in my mouth has left me with only one thing left to say… adiós Amigos.
