Dear owners of Phở Thai Long, Please re-open somewhere else. You were the best phở around. Those other two places on Prarie were not even close to being good. I can’t eat phở practically anywhere else because they all just taste like brothy water with noodles compared to the amazingness of you. I brought friends from all around to taste your phở and they all agreed… you were the best. please come back to me… :*(

WAAHH this place is good. I would give 5 stars but they lose one for service. I tried to come here a couple weeks earlier but the guy there said they are closing early because he had to go pick up his mom? yea… i didn’t really want to come back but my GF wanted Phở and we wanted to try this place out and good thing we did. You can park either on the street in front of the place or around back, but beware of the pot holes driving back there! it’s open seating so sit where ever you want. there was no one in there when we got there though lol. The Phở was very fresh and well prepared. the plate has a very nice presentation. The food came out reasonably fast compared to other Phở places we’ve been to. the broth had a nice full fresh flavor. the egg rolls were the bomb! wrapped in lettuce, carrot, cucumber and noodles. The taste blended perfectly. The spring rolls we’re alright too! Specially with the dipping sauce. When we got in, ordered our food and got it placed in front of us, that was the last we heard from out service. I don’t believe the ladie ever came back to refill water, ask if anything was alright or really, well, look in our direction. While getting closer to the end of our meal, it seemed like their family and friends came in for a meal. after trying to wave someone down to pay for the food, i was forced to walk up to the counter and ask for it myself. now they are all very polite and courteous, but… i think they could use a little more help in the customer service portion. If I wasn’t 6′ 2″, they probably wouldn’t have seen me walk up to the counter. All in all, it was a nice filling meal that really hit the spot. we will definitely be going back there again.

First of all, it’s not located in the best part of town. However it’s not located in the worst part of town either. The food was pretty good. Definitely authentic. However the service was kind of lacking. My friend tried to order some desert drink and they waitress said they were too lazy to make it. The Phở was kind of saltier than other Phở I’ve had. Other than that, it’s your typical authentic Phở place. I think Pho99 on Wilshire is a better place because it’s closer. Sure the portions are smaller, but hey the difference is a $ 1. If you take into account the gas you spend getting to Hawthorne(I live on Westside), it’s the same or even cheaper to go to Pho99. Don’t get me wrong, the place is good. Just not good enough to make me want to drive farther to have Phở.

We’ve had food delivered the last 2 weekends. The only complaint was dry chicken on the first order(skipped chicken last time), otherwise, delicious! And the best part was the delivery person — I think Hai sp?, maybe part owner/manager… so friendly. He invited us to come check out the restaurant some time and said he’d fix us up some special dishes. Great food, friendly service!

My girlfriend and I came around to this place after going to a beach car meet in the rain, knowing my girlfriend she always in the mood for phở but that day she really wanted phở knowing it was cold and rainy outside. 1st thing I did was ask for a bathroom to wash my hands and I had to walk through the kitchen(which was odd), so I took a glance inside which made me second think about eating here but gave it a shot anyways. Pro was on the menu they had a «build your own phở» choice for about $ 6 con about it, there was not much meat, looked like my girlfriend had like 6 pieces of really small beef. I had the beef fried rice which was like $ 7 had to admit came in a really nice presentation«salad» didn’t eat it because I just wanted rice and meat for my long day standing in the rain. Con about that it took up a lot of space on the plate which resulted in less food. Service was good the lady asked if we needed anything a lot, she was very jolly which I liked haha.

Went tonight, had the Goi Cuon; shrimp and pork spring rolls, they were just ok. I’ve had better at other restaurants. What excels at this restaurant is their Mi Tôm Thi t; shrimp and pork noodle soup and the Com Tâm Thit Hay Bo Nung; charbroiled pork was simply amazing! Have to go back to try their lunch specials.

With a huge parking lot in the back for this strip mall of shops, this place has 9 quads and 2 big round tables that can seat 6 comfy. A nice looking interior with a flat panel TV on the wall. When you are ordering by the number and you have to start with«One Hundred and…», you know it’s a big menu. There were 4 tables with customers and 3 tables that needed to be cleared. I had no problem getting a table. There was only one server doing everything. Taking orders, togo orders and busing the tables. She was really busy and it could have been worse if there was a waiting list for a table. I had the basic Phở to baseline this place. It’s the biggest bowl I’ve eaten phở out of, but the waterline was only halfway up, so it’s about the same size as others. They serve the basic veggies on a side plate and there are 5 kinds of meat in the soup. They put the raw beef on top, so you can regulate how much cooking you want. The tendon was pretty good. Nice softness with a bit of chewyness too. The broth wasn’t too greasy and it had a slight sweetness to it. The scallions had a strong flavor which is good. One of the better bowls of Phở that I’ve had. It ranks up there with Thai Lai down the street. The food I saw on the other tables looked very good too. A solid 4 stars for this place.

This place is literally down the street from me, but the geographical convenience isn’t what makes this place a gem… Its a family run joint, and the owner is a sweet lady who usually has her little daughter running around, too cute. I love phở and this place makes it right, from the flavorful broth made with fresh ingredients to the usual but tasty add-ons. I personally prefer the phở ga(chicken), and accompany that with a delicious Thai iced tea. I find that a cold day pairs best with a hot bowl of phở, especially from this place!

So I was craving Phở on a Friday night, and if you don’t live in Westminster, Garden Grove, or other cities where there are a lot of Asians, the phở restaurants close early. Here comes Unilocal to the rescue! I read the reviews for Phở Thai Long, and read the one from my girlfriend Debbie W, and decided to try it out. Thank goodness I did! Asian restaurant + «A» rating = happy tummy. I absolutely loved the phở including the fact that they are open until 10PM. Woooo hooo! Finally I can get my phở on after 8PM. I also loved that the well done flank did not have a lot of fat. I went to another phở restaurant(don’t remember the name) where I kept asking myself«Where’s the beef?» The meat was all fat, and it totally turned me off, so I stopped eating it. What a waste! I will truly come back here again.

Phở Ever… ok bad joke… LOL. Oh, this is my 200th review — w00t! OK, things to avoid: 1. EGGROLLS — you get 2 little egg rolls that look like they were bought at Ranch 99 frozen food section. 2. Che Bau Mau(sp?) That bean, milk, jelly drink thingy — it’s disgusting. 3. X-Tra Large Phở — there’s very very very little difference between this and the regular beyond the bigger bowl and more soup. In-fact, we counted the rare steak in my bowl and it was actually less than my friend’s regular. Things they do well: 1. Service is acceptable 2. Phở taste OK 3. Ambiance is nice, big ol’ fish tank with open door and a breeze — I dig it. This place wouldn’t be my 1st place for Phở but not my last either.

This a nice, small, family-owned place. I made the mistake of ordering an egg noodle soup the first time I came, since I was turned off Phở due to a bad experience at Phở Ever. My bf got the Phở. I was jealous cause it looked good. Mine was meh… So I vowed to come back and got the beef Phở with well-done flank steak and brisket. Mmmm… The soup base was perfect. The spices were right on and the rice noodles were awesome. Yay, I’m a fan! We’ve been back three time since the first time and the lady who runs the place with her husband recognizes us. She is prompt and very nice. Plus, whenever we go, the Food Network is on! Score! Her little girl runs around the restaurant, which is cute, but I’m scared that she is going to bump into a server one day carrying hot soup. Some nice touches: everything you need for flavoring your Phở is on the table. The servers brings out theses cute napkin pouches which contain 2 spoons, a fork, and chopsticks, so if you’re a westerner, you will not have to go through the awkward experience of asking for a fork. The first two times we came, we were not offered a complimentary dessert. The last two times we were! The dessert is good but the texture throws me off. It’s like a coco-nutty, tapioca, watery pudding. Plus there’s this huge fish in an aquarium. There is parking in the back of the restaurant.

Where’s the 6th star? I had bad thoughts running through my head as my coworkers said«You HAVE to come to Phở on Monday — $ 3.99!». Instantly, thoughts of a dirty ass place in a shady neighborhood with a film of dirt over the tables jumped into my mind. So the 5 of us headed out, parked right in front of the big«LUNCHSPECIAL– $ 3.99PHO&GRILL» sign. Friends said no need to look at the menu, rice or phở. And I proceeded to ask, but I don’t want this or that in my phở and they said it’s just the steak, so I was good. Also ordered an iced coffee. Phở came out hot and steamy in a GIGANTIC bowl! It was SOOOO good! The iced coffee was not so good, but who cares, I was busy scarfing down my Phở! I’m very picky about the flavor of the broth, the onions, the freshness of the sprouts and basil and they totally nailed it! My new favorite Phở place, they get a 6 star in my book for the VALUE.

With all these great reviews about this place, my friend(a crazy phở lover) and I were pretty disappointed. The broth in the phở was ok to me, my friend thought it was a little sweet for his tasting. What really bothered me was the lack of meat in my bowl. They were very small and thin strips in there. I completely forgot to take a picture because I was so hungry. The service wasn’t that great either. I also ordered an avocado shake and the lady completely forgot about it. I asked for it in a to-go cup and the cup was so small! Don’t get me started on the flavor of the drink either. It was basically some avocado powder and a LOT of condensed milk, I didn’t even drink half of it because it was so sweet. What a disappointment. Not sure if I’ll be coming back here, although their other dishes sounded good. Maybe I’ll give it another try… in the far future.

This is a hole in the wall restaurant. The décor of this place is a lot nicer than some of the Phở restaurants I’ve been to. However, the place is easily missed since it is on Prairie and there are tons of Vietnamese restaurants nearby. There is a huge parking lot at the back of this restaurant. Phở is usually all about the broth, and this place delivered great tasting Phở. We were the only people at the restaurant when we got in, which made us a bit worried. Thankfully, Unilocal reviewers delivered a great place that I otherwise would’ve passed on by judging on appearance.(No diners, A rating). When we left there were more diners. I would hate to see this place close down due to no business because it was truly good. I got to try the egg noodles and my friend got the Phở. Both were equally delicious but I still think this Phở tops many other places. The price was very reasonable and the portions were pretty big. At the end of the meal we even got a little dessert. I wish I worked nearby so I can get the lunch special for $ 3.99.

I had time to kill while waiting for a friend to get in at LAX. Found this place while I was cruising around trying my best not to waste gas. I wasn’t even hungry but just the thought of Phở can make my stomach rumble. I had the brisket phở. Soup was tasty and it had plenty of meat. Phở came with the standard bean sprouts and lime. I love the extra veges that come with phở. Their large size was really a large with plenty of noodles not just an extra big bowl. The menu had both chinese and vietnamese food. What else can you ask for.

I work in the southbay so i crave phở for lunch alot kinda like a bad sunday hang over. I’ve been trying all the Vietnamese restaurant in the area and this has to be the top one with a variety of items on the menu so if a coworker isnt feeling like phở one day they can get something else. This place is in the top two of my viet restaurants that I frequent visit when I get my cravings(the other is Phở Hong Long). Being a chiet(chinese-vietnamese) and growing up in a vietnamese household i have been accustomed to great food and this place is good for the area it is in but if this was moved to Westminster it would have no chance but since the OC is too far to drive this place will do. +1 for location +1 for good service +1 for not ever serving lemons with phở +1 for the cute little baby girl that likes to play with my badge overall not bad viet food for where its at. only one complaint the com tam is made with regular rice and not broken rice. but thats pretty much a given at any viet restaurant thats not in the OC.

On a chilly Sunday evening, was in the mood for phở after a long day of football, hanging out by the pool with friends and eating non-stop. Came across Phở Thai Long because it was in the area and opened late. Service was actually very friendly but maybe because we were the only ones in there that late in the evening. Food was decent. Wasn’t great but wasn’t bad. Phở wasn’t too oily and had some flavor. Had better but then again, had worse too. Overall, a good experience.

Standard weekend ritual; wakeup, lounge, get hungry, and then eat phở. I love that there are so many phở places in the south bay, I hate that most of them aren’t that great. Phở Thai Long does have an advantage over many of the par phở places in the area though, they deliver! And their menu is vast, full of rice and noodle dishes that we’re sure to be ordering in the near future. For that morning I ordered the usual Thai ice tea and all meat combo phở. The Thai ice tea was better than the last couple but nothing special; The phở on the other hand came in the largest bowl I’ve ever seen(at a phở place). I almost thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it, but who are we kidding, of course I did! The broth was a bit too sweet for me, not grossly sweet but I wish it had more oil in it. The noodles came in massive clump, all stuck together. It took longer than normal to separate them all out. The brisket was not fatty at all and was overcooked, far too chewy. I only found two chunks of tripe and three small pieces of tendon buried at the bottom of my vessel. Recently we decided to start ordering our rare meat on the side so that we could control the cooking process, this is a must for all future phở trips. The phở here wasn’t anything great, but it definitely wasn’t terrible. If anything we’ll be ordering some delivery but no more phở from here.

I accidentally found this place as well(referring to Louis N.) I was on my lunch break looking for a Vietnamese spot cuz the one I usually go to was closed on Tuesdays. Phở Thai Long is open everyday except Wednesdays. MC&Visa accepted. This place was a hole in the wall located off of Prairie, south of Rosecrans. The establishment was very clean, with nice clean burgundy linen and great customer service. To top the whole Phở Thai experience, the food was excellent! I ordered #33 Bun Tau Hu Ky Bo Nurong Cha Gio(Charbroiled Beef with Vermicelli) Each meat was wrapped around an onion. The vermicelli noodles were so tender, that it taste homemade and fresh. I will definitely go back JACK!
