Got a plate to go. Got home. Found a long black hair in my sumi salad. So gross. Definitely will not be eating here again.

The owner (Asian lady) is very mean. I ordered a tempura and California roll combo and asked for 2 sweet and sour sauces, but the owner refused to give me 2. She gave me 1 because she said a tempura sauce is served with the meal. The 1 oz. containers of sweet and sour sauces are only ½ full. How mean could you be to your customers??? Come on lady.

Wasnt a happy patron. Long wait for OVERCOOKED CHILD SIZE portions of food. By the time we recieved our TO GO we only had time to get back to our office.

I used to think the food was good but not sure if the quality changed or if my palate changed. The beef teriyaki had this funny after taste. It also had this strange pungent flavor as if it was old meat. Inedible actually. The chicken was good, not great. Good for a fast food joint.
I love the california roll funny enough! It isn’t high quality but reminiscent to me of the sushi I had at another place while in college. The Tempura roll was actually gross. And Im not picky so this says a lot.
Not worthy trying this place.

I can’t believe the negative reviews! I’ve been coming here for years since they opened and it’s always been great. Moved away and came back to town to visit and stopped in for dinner last night and I think it’s gotten better! Sushi is always fresh and fast. Spicy Chicken is amazing and magnificent salads.

Horrible service. 45 minutes after order. $ 10 for a chicken breast salad with 2 strips of chicken. Slow. Unapologetic employees.
How do I order a steak plate that comes with no rice? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose of teriyaki. You guys are absolutely horrific. Different parts of my meal were hot or cold. I suggest if you really want good teriyaki go to flame broiler or even Maui teriyaki on marine age. I do not have enough words in my vocabulary to express my loathing for you. Going out for dinner is supposed to be a stress free environment. Unfortunately this is not the place. I’m surprised you’re still in business. I will now make it my mission in life to make sure no one goes to your restaurant. I hope you enjoyed that $ 30.48 we gave your for our meal, because that is the last you’ll ever get out of me.
Just finished eating. Food was cold. I actually needed to put it on the pan again to cook it. I can actually say that I «hate» San Sai. With a passion.

Nice place located close to the office for a quick lunch to take back to my desk. Parking in this area gets pretty bad during lunch because Costco, McDonald’s and Chipotle all share the same lot.
I ordered the six piece tempura shrimp roll. I received the shrimp roll instead. Not a big fan of faux crabmeat and tempura. It was okay maybe I needed to add more wasabi.
For my main dish I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast Salad. The chicken breast was excellent but was missing the mandarin oranges, roasted almonds, sesame seeds and crunchy noodles. Maybe this is the newest they serve the salad.
Jennifer was great and had a huge smile when she took my order. Unfortunately, she wasn’t the one putting my order together. About five other people who ordered after me received their food before I got my food that was sitting in the pass (window).

Would give one star if I could. 30 minutes before closing and employee states they can’t put oranges in mandarin salad or she’ll get fired. Also no miso soup and no linguini salad. Says they can’t make more but yet they charge the same as the rest of the day. Service and quality are non existent. As I’m typing this… mandarin oranges appear.

Food is Meh. For quick sushi. I do like the salad options. The service is not good. You definitely do not get the welcoming feel at all. It’s definitely fast food sushi. The environment for a quick lunch. Not a place to hang out and have a beer and chat with friends or family. I have seen the owners a few times and they never even say hello or welcome. The cashiers seem annoyed if you take too long to order.

Service is very slow and inexperienced. Ordered through the phone for pick up to avoid the lines. Took us close to an hour to get our food when we got there. The order was wrong when we arrive to pay the bill. Even worst, the food was cold when we got home. I should have gone next door to Jersey Mike’s or Chipotle which is in the same center. Not giving this place a second try!

I thought I’d give this place another try well can you say explosive diarrhea? I had breakfast this morning, wrote and edited until late this afternoon thinking I’d treat myself and this is what I got. No thanks — — I WILL NOT BE BACK!
I am 100% SURE it was the Baked Salmon, the miso soup (probably not the culprit), and the green salad with the oranges. I’ll be traveling over to Westchester, ElSegundo, or Manhattan Beach. Hawthorne is a crap part of town with crappy food.

Sansai’s food was better than I would have expected, but the experience of eating here was not the greatest. It could have been because I arrived about 30 minutes before they were scheduled to close, and I felt like they were uninterested in helping me. The woman at the register did not look at me the entire time I ordered until I asked her if she was talking to me. I could not tell, because she kept going back and forth with the other staff to see what they still had available from what I was ordering. They were out of two of the salads that I wanted with my combo, so I got one salad and an extra order of rice.
I ordered the chicken and California roll combo. The chicken was pretty good, and the California roll was surprisingly tasty. As sides I got the aforementioned (Sumi)salad and an extra serving of white rice. They were out of the salads I wanted and only had the Sumi and Thai noodle. The Sumi and rice were good, but nothing special. The meal was solid overall and worthy of the visit.
I liked the food, but felt unwelcomed. They were already turning over all the chairs before they were scheduled to close. It felt like the staff just wanted to leave early. However, there was one big highlight of eating here… that they had Gatorade as a fountain drink. I had never seen before, and it was awesome after just working out. If I do ever eat here again though, I will be sure to arrive at least an hour before closing.

Only 4 pieces of ahi tuna in my salad??? I use to come here for lunch every single day, back when their portions were acceptable at 12 $. Now it’s literally a quarter of what it was and I was charged an additional 5 $ for being outraged and asking for more meat!!! No thanks I’ll go next door to fish dish next time. Not only is the food better there (even without dressing) but the food comes out FASTER and the workers there are MUCH more friendly. Needless to say, the portions are very liberal. Try their salmon salad or pasta.

I wanted a quick sushi fix so I stopped in and orderd the Dragon roll. Of course it wasn’t the best I’ve had, but it wasnt bad for the quick cheap fix I needed.

Fast service and great food. A very friendly and helpful staff. Pricing is great for the amount you get.

The Chipotle line went out the door so I decided to give this place a try. It’s alright. It’s descent if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat. Unfortunately my order took a while. My husband was almost done eating when my order came out.
1. Hand roll combo: salmon, tuna, and spicy tuna (I’d come back for hand rolls but pass on the chicken dish
2. Spicy chicken (it’s pretty spicy)

So I am trying this place again, but the last few times were just blah… you know? I even try something totally different… I get a special, the tempura special which for some reason takes almost 20 minutes for me to get my meal… really?
The chicken isn’t bad and I actually enjoy the dipping sauce, but kind a hard to get to the actual chicken. I understand tempura, but I had to rip it apart with my teeth.sheesh. lol

Eh. That’s about the best word to describe it. Eating the mini sized sushi rolls, looked up at my dad eating his mini hand rolls, we just said «eh» to each other. Miso soup is bland. The salmon roll seemed warm… Hopefully I don’t get sick from it. Food is all around okay. Not the worst but not good either.

Second time here i wanted to give them a second change, but it seen just the food is not that flavorful and they didn’t get my order right. The employees are not very helpful when ask questions about the food. I got over charge for something simple a roll and a side salad. Just not happy sorry.
