Anchor Bay Tattoos & Body Piercing

Brandon was awesome! He was so nice and patient with us. I came in with two of my friends and we were there for an hour debating what we wanted. Tattoos or a nose piercing or what?! We ended up just buying jewelry and he didn’t even care. Definitely coming back to him, made me feel so valued as a customer thank you so much !!

Everyone is super nice and helpful. If you plan on going for their Friday 13^th specials get there EARLY, their waiting list fills up quick. I got a teacup on the inner forearm.

Had a beautiful feather tattoo done by Patrick! Everyone was really welcoming, and I didn’t set up an appointment originally. I just walked in, and they went straight to work with me which was great. Pricing was good. And my tattoo is healing great. Thanks a lot Patrick!

They did a poor job. I asked for a simple ankh with date and name underneath. Looks like he was shaking the whole time he did it. I did not move. Lines are fucked up at the bottom and missing a dot between the 3 and the 0. Not to mention he said he was finished and he wasn’t. I only caught that he didn’t put in a dot at the end on the M because he put mr. Instead of m.r. This dude clearly didn’t know how to tattoo and didn’t respect my feelings for what I wanted. Don’t ever get tattoo by here if you want something even that’s just simple. This was for my dead mother and it looks like complete SHIT. They deserve no stars.

August pierced my ears and he was awesome. Made you feel super comfortable. Talkative and did anything you asked. For my next piercing will def come back! Thanks August!

I came in around last week to get a couple of piercings and all I could say is that this place is amazing and will be my go to place for piercings and possibly future tattoos. The receptionist is super sweet and nice and so is the manager, whom I had a brief conversation with while waiting for my piercer. The atmosphere here is lively and everyone gives off a good vibe. Brandon did SUPER amazing with my piercings and made it a really great experience for me as he helped me with my breathing and to relax. Definitely didn’t make me anxious and I was able to trust him. I’m one week in with my piercings and they still look amazing and are healing wonderfully!

Daila did a wonderful job completing my tattoo after having a terrible experience at another place. She listened and help me recreate my tattoo. She did a wonderful job finding colors

Came here for the Friday the 13^th special. My boyfriend and I ended up being the cut off patrons of the night so we had a long wait. 4 hours later at 1 am Shane was able to start my boyfriends piece, and at some point he asked me if I still wanted mine done tonight (as well as asked if we had to wake up early). We did need to go to work the next morning and we did not want Shane to stay any longer since he was tattooing for 12+ hours and requested it to be done the next day. I told Shane an exact time and when I got there 10 minutes early he was already waiting for me and had set up a little. I gave him full freedom of the color since I have darker skin and he knows which pigments would last the best. He thought about blue and asked the other artists what they think as well and they agreed it would pop nicely against my skin. Before he would add any other color he would ask me if I’m ok with that, and then continue needling it in. Shane was very clean with his lines and shading, very pleasant to work with as well. The other artists were very hospitable as well, both on the night of the 13^th and the next day I came in. Highly recommend seeing anyone of these artists!

I feel like my review may be a bit inaccurate due to the fact that I only had a piercing and not a tattoo experience at Anchor Bay, but nonetheless, the work that I had done was excellent and deserves recognition.
The shop isn’t the prettiest place, but it has a vibe to it that is very chill and relaxing, and everyone who was present and not busy greeted me promptly. I got a piercing done by Brandon from Modesto who had to be one of the friendliest kids in customer service I have ever met. His chipper personality helped to put me at ease, along with his adamant attitude about being as clean as possible when doing piercings and cleaning them afterwards.
After some zen-​like breath control drills, the piercings were done quickly and relatively painlessly. In addition, Brandon quoted me the lowest price amongst all of the other shops in the area.
I can’t vouch for their tattoos, but if I were to get another piercing, I’d truly hope Brandon was still working there.

My best friend and I came here to get matching infinity arrow tattoos. August was very nice and finished very quickly. We were really happy with the artwork. They were clean. They had great music playing. It wasn’t over crowded. It was pretty great. Nothing bad to say about Anchor Bay. :)

I have been wanting to find a tattoo and piercing shop where I felt comfortable and knew I was getting good work. Well I have finally found it here at Anchor bay. I found this awesome place through instagram. I got a chance to look at and get a feel for Daila’s work. I was convinced she was the perfect artist for a very feminine piece I wanted. From start to finish she was super professional and knowledgeable. I came in and showed her the picture I wanted, she said she wanted to add some jewels and stars to the piece, her artist talents truly showed through because she took into account what I wanted and gave me such an amazing piece. She was super friendly and answered all my questions which made me feel at ease right away! She took her time to make sure all the details were perfect and made sure everything was well done. When she began she was super meticulous with her line work and shading I had a couple friends with me and they were soo impressed by how perfect it was coming out. The amount of time and work she put in for this piece truly shows you how passionate she is about her profession. While she was at work I asked about some of the jewelry they had at the shop and without fail she answered every question and knew exactly what I wanted to know. The entire staff at Anchor Bay were super chill and friendly they didn’t mind my large group and were more than happy to answer their questions as well. I highly recommend this place for great work. I will definitely be coming back for more!

Staff was friendly, professional and helpful

I came here about a month ago looking for a local place to get some new tats and I talked to Patrick who was really friendly when I first met him. I asked him if he would be willing to do a chest tattoo and he was cool about my concept over all just really accommodating. It took two sessions but it was a pretty big piece. I LOVE my tattoo and I am always trying to show it off he captured my vision really well and ill definitely be coming back for more work! Thank you again Patrick for the beautiful art.

I got work done by Patrick here and it’s by far my favorite tattoo. He added all the components I wanted like the banner and he added some of his own flare, such as the branch. I love the color and details, you can see the white in the zebra finches eye. It’s totally what I wanted and more. I couldn’t be more happier with it. Patrick is a really chill guy too! I recommend asking for him!
I also got pierced by Stu here and I can’t really show y’all my piercings because I think some of you will report me LOL but let’s just say they’re awesome! Stupid is seriously the guy to go to if you wanna get pierced! He made everything chill and he made sure he took it slow and explained every step of the way. I also had a problem with my jewelry being too small and he switched them for free for me. I recommend going to Stu to get pierced from!

I wanted to like this place. I really did. But I left feeling so disappointed.
Already upon walking into Anchor Bay, the shop had a look that left me unimpressed. There wasn’t much effort into the décor, which I know isn’t the most important thing, but it made the whole shop immediately look disorganized and not very clean.
When picking out jewelry and talking to the staff, the customer service also proved to be disappointing. The man who helped me was neither helpful nor friendly, and another guy sitting at the computer did not even look up to acknowledge my presence once. The jewelry selection was also very minimal.
I was hoping that I’d get pierced by Stu Modifies, the owner of the shop who seems to be very knowledgeable in the realm of body piercings and modifications. To my dismay, he wasn’t there and the person who pierced me was Daila. I liked her septum jewelry and I immediately asked her if it was a clicker and she responded with «Uh…I don’t know, it’s some kind of piece that I dont really know the name of, you just kind of bend it into place.» The fact that I was about to get pierced by a woman that did not even have the knowledge of basic jewelry terminology shot up as a huge red flag.
I got down in the seat, waiting to get my tragus pierced, and within a few minutes I could feel Daila putting on the clamps and lining up, ready to pierce. I respond with, «Wait…did you mark me already?» to which she replied, «Uh, yeah… wait do you want to see the markings or something?» What kind of professional starts to pierce before even showing the customer the marking to see if it’s to their liking!!!
The one thing that I will give credit where it is due is that the piercing process itself went smoothly and everything was sterile. However, when I was done and got to look at the piercing… oh man. She placed this piercing so that it looks like it’s on my face rather than my tragus. She ended up piercing it even farther in than her marking (which I had to remind her to show me in the first place). Upon leaving the shop she handed me her business card, which states that she’s a tattoo artist. I was shocked to discover that the woman who had just jabbed a needle in my ear doesn’t even advertise or market herself as a piercer. More than my shock, I was utterly disappointed that the shop would let this woman pierce when it is clearly not her specialty or area of concentration.
I’m sure that there are people here on staff that do great work, but my experience here was one that was disappointing in nearly every regard. There are so many better shops in the area that consistently put our good work; don’t risk yourself by coming here. Tomorrow I’m already planning to go to my usual trusted piercing shop (Fura in CV) to have my piercing removed and re-​done by someone who actually knows what they’re doing.

This place really messed my tattoo up and it was not a difficult tattoo its on my back on my spine and it looks uneven and it seems as if his hand was shaking as he was tattooing the words «life full of happiness» on it and it’s in cursive so you can notice it more, I’m honestly really embarrassed of my tattoo I never went back to complain because I don’t really like confrontation I’ve had this tat for about a year and I have hidden my tattoo for a year because I’m embarrassed of it I’m saving money to get it removed so I would really not recommend anyone to go here if they are going for letters or words tatted but their other tattoos do look nice

A couple months ago my Bf got his tatt done here … The tattoo came out great and they didn’t mind at all that I had my baby there ., thanks guys !!

I went to Patrick back in August with a complex design and in a matter of an hour he was able to convert my design to the most flawless, perfect tattoo.
I am beyond happy with my tattoo and I have told everyone about you. He is your go-​to guy if you are looking for quality work and design. A huge plus for the sanitary environment.

I am so happy that Anchor Bay Tattoo & Peircing are open. This is a new parlor, amongst many. But this studio is one of the best ive ever been too! Ive become familiar with many of the workers there including Stu Modifies and Pazul. Stu is just hilarious. He makes waiting for your tattoo fly by. Pazul is great with peircings, he has done my chest dermal well as my medusa. He has also tattooed a memorial peice on me and my mom. He was really polite and understanding with her and made her feel welcome despite it being her first time and being really picky about her font. :) Since then he has tattooed a heart on my finger, as well as a traditional owl on my leg. Coming here makes you want to get tattooed/​peirced again and again. Ive already booked my appointment for my Anti Brow and I know it will turn out awsome. Best shop in Hayward.
