On Sunday morning, the main dining room becomes an informal church. People come down the hall in their wheelchairs or walk if they are able. They sing a few songs, share communion, and then have a short sermon/Bible lesson. I am thankful that I can help a little. Even though it is a drive from San Jose, I do not mind. My mother lived at Bethesda during her last days, so it is special to me.

I toured here today looking for a place for my mom and loved the staff & people here. Residents seemed very happy as I got to talk to a few. The rooms are as the picture shows, average size and were decorated with personal things from home. The TV though is not provided but there are cable hook up’s if family would like service. The décor was old but I did not smell anything foul the whole time I was there which was about 2 hours. It had very nice, large, well kept grounds outside which I thought was a nice change from the traditional care homes. Something pretty to look at other then a grey parking lot and something to actually take a stroll in. One thing that stood out to me was a beautiful, well dressed & groomed resident who was very friendly. She happened to be blind as I was not sure at first but that assured me that they take very good care of her. I left with a very good feeling about this place. Something I have not had yet in my tours with others care homes.
